I have a question, i have been wanting to make userbars, but cant using MS paint. How do you do it?
Lucarioisawesome, they can't be done easily in a simpler program like MSPaint or Paintbrush, your going to need to upgrade to a more complex one, such as PhotoShop, Pixelmator or GIMP. All can be run on both Mac and PC (though you need to run GIMP through X11). You can get trials of PhotoShop and Pixelmator but they both end up costing money (and they cost a LOT). I would recommend GIMP, while slightly less complex as Pixelmator and PhotoShop, it's not too hard to learn to do simple stuff such as Userbars, and it's 100% free.
You can also use userbar making websites. Thats what I started out with.
Yeah, but they minimize the customization, and they always leave nasty watermarks on them.
Not always. You can take them off.
Well personally, it feels better when you make a good one from scratch.
Same. Since its a new page, I can show you one I just made for a clan mate.
(Casteform is his name, I know its spelled wrong.)
I'd like to let you know that the userbar has the background cause he requested that. I wouldve put purple or yellow.
well i did do it pretty good did I ?
Art is about the Picture not the equipment./
Also, how do you put glows on pokemon sprites?

Lol I make the glows in PhotoShop or GIMP.
I wouldn't ask me, I am a Mac user, I can't even run MSPaint. :P
MSPaint is a very bare-bones program that can't do much more than sprites. Making effects such as glows requires painstaking hours of color finding and drawing in very pixel. GIMP is much better for all other art needs. It's almost exactly like Photoshop, but free.
About the userbar: it's great, although th bar actually moves in each frame. I suggest centering one frame to match the other so only the sprites appear to be moving.
GIMP 2 is free. You should use it. its about 1000000x better.
Oh and check out my uber cool userbar i made!
