Default Champion Alder or Champion Iris?

Basically which of the two champions do you like more: Alder in B&W or Iris in B2&W2? I'm not including N in this poll because

        Spoiler:- end of game:

My pick is Alder because I liked a lot of his Pokemon, Volcarona being one of my favorites, and also kind of because he's an adult. I don't know, it just felt sort of weird having a kid champion. :/

    Well I liked them both but I gotta go with Iris as my favourite of Unova's champions mostly cuz I liked her clothes and team and theme music more than Alder's. ^^;

I really like Iris because she seems to play a more important role in the plot. You don't even get to fight Alder until the post-game, and I prefer Iris's design.

I prefer Alder. Rockin' that Poncho. Pearls of wisdom throughout the games. A cool team. Even if it isn't "Ubers" standard.

I liked how Alder realised it was time to step down as champion. And the compassion he shows to others and Pokemon.

I liked both as they're my favorite champions (certainly way better then Diantha). But in terms of teams, I'm going with Iris as her team is the most challenging to face out of all of the champions imo. Her Challenge Mode team especially is fantastic and her battle theme sounds amazing to me.

It's a difficult choice, but I think I have to go with Alder, since his grandson gives you a shiny, his hair is awesome, and he has awesome Pokemon like Volcarona.

In terms of difficulty, I'll have to pick Iris, since I remember having more trouble with her in W2 than I did with Alder in B/W.
(I still have never got that far in B2 yet)

I'm going with Iris. She is my favorite out of all the Champions so there is no way I'm not voting for her. I like how she went from being a Gym Leader to being the Champion, it was well done and was a big surprise... or it would have been if I hadn't gotten spoiled about it before playing B2/W2. But I liked it anyway. It had been done before with Wallace but I thought it was well done this time too. I think Iris is a great character, I like her personality and design. She is energetic and optimistic, like a good trainer and Champion should be. Her dress is cool and I love her hairstyle. I also like her team, she is a Dragon-type user but uses a mixed team anyway which I like just like with Steven and Alder before her (though they used other types). I felt that it worked better for her than for Lance as he was pushed as a Dragon-type user but still used other types of Pokemon while I never felt that they did the same with Iris (in the sequels at least). Her team is really great and strong too, I believe she is the strongest out of all Champions when battled in Challenge Mode (I'm not counting Red as a 'Champion'). Finally, I really love her battle theme. My favorite Champion battle theme and one of my favorite tracks in the whole series. So those are all the reasons as for why Iris is my favorite. It was a bit sad to see that she wasn't a part of the PWT but that was a minor thing, everything else was the best.

That said, I really like Alder as well. I liked his personality, his design is really cool and rather unique, and his backstory was interesting. He is one of my second favorite Champions in the series, the other being Cynthia.

I'd rather go with Iris because she's a Dragon user and preferred her as a stronger Champion than Alder.

I'll vote for Alder since he was the original Bw champion and his team was much more impressive and challenging to me than Iris'.

Definitely Alder. Nothing against Iris or anything but she didn't really feel like a champion. She was definitely a better story character than Alder that I can say without a doubt.

While I liked Iris' character arc and the fact she defeated Alder for his title, Alder was implied to be extremely seasoned as a battler and simply past his prime (not to mention outright rusty). He became distraught after his Larvesta died and despite training up a new Volcarona, he left the Pokemon League and wandered for ages without accepting any challengers. The reason we can infer he's past his prime is because even his grandson Benga (who is way less experienced) is an extremely strong trainer and the head of a battle facility. If Alder has decades of experience over such a strong trainer he was likely exponentially stronger at one point. I liked Alder because of his extremely personal character arc, large role in the story, and the fact that he seemed to be a Champion for way longer than any of the other Champions (even after returning to the League he just waited for Iris to become strong enough to beat him, and then retired). The fact he's able to hold his own against the other Champions in the Pokemon World Tournament implies his prime skill level was greater than theirs. Not to mention, unlike other Champions, he didn't gain the title by having to defeat the League, the Pokemon League Association actually appointed him, which speaks volumes of his accolades.

I actually think of him as in a league of his own for that reason. Amongst the younger Champions I'd go with Steven, but if they met I'd say even Steven would acknowledge Alder as his technical superior.
What a shame the B/W anime didn't do him justice...

Agreed. I always liked dragon users and dragon pokemon in general. I really like the game version of Iris a lot. I get why she didn't had all dragon types on her team. Aggron to resist dragon moves and Lapras to use ice moves on dragon. Archeops was probably used because it can learn dragon attacks but was not a dragon type. Regardless of this, I still liked Iris and thought she was a decent champion. But Alder is pretty cool too.

As a character, I'd have to go with Alder. I like how he had a moving backstory that tied into his training philosophy. With Iris (and I know this is nitpicky), but the way she talked, especially in BW, definitely annoyed me at times. I get that's she's supposed to be a young child prodigy, but many of her lines just felt overly childish to me:

"But that's so bad! Taking people's Pokémon is really bad! 'Cause it's really nice when people and Pokémon are together!"
"Aww... He's gone. Is he OK? He looked kinda scary."
"Whoooa! That was so cool! I'm sooo happy I could battle a Trainer as strong as you!"

I wish they had found a way to convey her youth without making her sound quite so silly. That said, I do think her Champion team presented more of a challenge than Alder's. Granted, Alder kind of got shafted in that sense, since you can't even battle him until you've already defeated the E4 with the very-challenging Ghetsis battle at the end.

I didn't think his team was that good cuz it seemed like rock type moves were good enough to defeat half of his team. I had an easy time against him always. ^^

I have to go with Iris. I really like her team (Hydreigon and Lapras are favourites of mine) and prefer her battle theme (love listening to it).

I'll go with Iris, even though I didn't like her design in B2/W2.I like her personality and her team(a Haxorus with Focus Sash was a really nasty surprise)better. Her battle theme is also a little more pleasant to listen to than Alder's,although I'm not a fan of either of them.

Iris, hands down. Alder's team just seemed to lack something.
I mean, look at the other champions - they are either type specialists (Lance - Dragon, Stephen - Steel/Rock, Wallace - Water, Iris - Dragon) or a mix up of powerful pokemon of differing types (Blue, Cynthia, Diantha). But with Alder its like they wanted to go with a bug specialist champion, gave him three and then thought "Ah, screw it! Just shove Vanilluxe, Bouffalant and Druddigon in there."

What kind of question is that? Iris of course! She had a really good team that took me at least 4 times to try to beat and I beated Alder first try. It's also probably because of the anime too that made me like Iris. However, something just... lacked from Alder. Therefore, i'm going with Iris.

I like Iris. Her battle theme is amazing, and think her design is really cool. And I agree- it's funny that she's a younger girl battling with huge Dragon-type Pokemon. When I battled her, I really liked the starry, spacial effect, that made it really beautiful and memorable.
But in Alder's defense, I think his personality and design is cool. But there's not much else that stands out to me for Alder, so I pick Iris.

I prefer Alder. He was a more fitting champion than Iris. Honestly though, I'm not particularly fond of either of them.

I really enjoyed Alder's design, and his colorful personality was a nice shift. His small story arc with Cheren was also very well done.

Alder has more charisma and aura as the true champion for me (maybe b/c of his line, age and design). Iris on the other hand feels like the true Dragon trainer champion of all gens.
Iris of course has a more challenging team.

Iris. Alder was very... forgettable to me. You don't even fight him at first, for Arceus' sake! Meanwhile, Iris was both well-known through the anime and had a ridiculously powerful team - and this was before the Fairy-type.
