    Sunshine Cleaning

I was looking for a "light" movie and ran into this... about a crime scene cleanup team. Pretty enjoyable.

I watched Brave last night with my family. I'd give it an eight out of ten.

Black Swan. Really good, and really creepy at that. I don't have much else to say because the film leaves you speechless in an effective way. I was thinking of taking up smoking after it because I felt like I needed a pack after that insanity, haha. Natalie Portman was a good lead and had good contrast with Mila Kunis. 4/5.

Watched Oz: the Great and Powerful.
I really liked it. A few tiny parts did seem to drag along, but overall it was a great movie :3

    Oz the Great and Powerful

At first I thought it would be disappointing like Alice in Wonderland. But its not bad after all, not really great either.
Visually it was good, the acting was ok, James Franco wasn't that miscast like everyone was saying. Rachel Weisz as the villain topped them all, just like Helena Carter in Alice or Charlize Theron in Snow White. I guess if you get the antagonist role especially the wicked one you get to explore your character more. All in all its a light and fun movie to watch. And oh my, that monkey was sure ugly...

    Ghost in the Shell

Finally got around to watching it. It's an interesting film for sure. I can see why it's a popular anime film, it has a lot of context anime is known for, especially in the philosophical aspect about life and individuality--who you are as a person. But a few things have flown over my head a little (doesn't help it's late as I'm typing this), so a couple more viewings would probably help. But from what I did get, I liked. The music is some of the best I've heard, such symbolism behind it all (once you understand what the chanting is, and how it plays a part in telling the story without other pieces of dialogue, just it and the visuals).

The Matrix was inspired by this movie, and it shows. I suggest checking it out to see what it's about. Just be warned that it's not for everyone.

    Les Miserables.

It was the best movie I've ever seen. It moved me to tears, every single scene and song was beautiful, and there wasn't a thing about it that I didn't like. I'm so happy I watched it.

    The Dark Knight Rises.
I loved Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, but for some reason never got around to seeing this one. Its ability to spew out new memes every day finally convinced me to just dish out the cash and see it.

Not as good as the previous one, but still an awesome film. 8/10.

    The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

I was looking forward to this movie when I saw the preview a while ago. I wasn't disappointed. It was amusing and I had a lot of good laughs. I'd give it a 6/10.

Well i watched StepBrothers the other day so ill review it of a sort.

Its very funny. Funnier than you would imagine. Two 40 year old guys whose parents move in with each other. At first they hate each other but their combined hatred for Brennan's younger richer brother brings them together. They apply for jobs etc. After they are told their parents are selling the house. All of this is hilarious but i will not spoil the conclusion. Funny but stupid in places 8/10.

You're baffled she hadn't seen it? To be honest, most people haven't (because everyone went to go see The Little Mermaid), even if the VHS sales were extremely high at the time. Even then, I haven't seen it either. I've been meaning to.

Anyhoo, while I wasn't bothered to look for our DVD copy, since I noticed we still had our VHS, I decided to watch Alien, probably the first time in a long time. I think the last time I actually saw this the whole way through was when I was a kid. Which is odd, since I could pretty much determine what was going to happen in each scene (unless it's that predictable now). It's pretty much how I remembered it: a crew on a space ship struggling to kill an alien they inadvertently brought on-board from... Saturn, I think. Or a moon of Saturn's. Wha...?

So yeah. I wasn't that scared, but the atmosphere of the movie is amazing. It holds up pretty well to this day, I wish more movies were like that. You know, we all remember Ripley as being a badass woman, but she was just a normal human being in the first one. She just turned into one at the end, and when the sequels kept coming (which honestly, I think the first movie works better on its own, so the audience can just make an ending of their own).

Still a pretty good movie. Apparently it has a deeper meaning to it such as the alien is pretty much the embodiment of rape, but I didn't exactly see that, honestly. I just saw an alien with a vicious instinct, or a perfect weapon as Ash said. I have to say that the gore was pretty much kept to a minimum for an R-rated film. It didn't need it to scare people, and I think that's where the film succeeds. Yeah, these days I think you'd be lucky to find someone who is actually terrified of it (especially since everyone knows of it by now), but for what it is, it delivers the suspense and subtle horror well.
