^he was asking if having a certain number (not point value) of infractions, expired or not, will get you banned. the answer is technically no, you will not get banned based on number of infractions alone. however, if you continuously break the rules and show no sign of changing or paying attention to them, a supermod or admin may ban you anyway.

be sure to read the rules of every section before posting ;)

Little Miss Stalinist/Secret Al-Qaeda agents (i.e. Ellie) would be a ***** even if she was a conserative republican. What makes her the way she is happens to be the fact that the webmaster of this site let's her behave like this. (Of course, I would never make a liberal a staff member at any forum I'd be in charge of, regardless.)

^When they expire. For example, you have 16 points and get a one week ban. You will still have 16 points if one did not expire.

He or she didn't follow the rules and got enough points to get banned. I am not allowed to post the specifics.

All I can say is that We're not keen on just posting images, and no text.

And how on earth did Ethan (one of the mods) get banned? I thought mods were immune.

Nobody is immune to getting banned (except Serebii, I guess), and suffice to say Ethan's ban was justified. I'm afraid we're not going to go into it any further than that. Please don't ask why a member was banned. If you want to know, then contact them and ask them. We're not going to discuss it with anyone other than the banned member themselves.

I can't give infactions or warning to Staff, but Owner/Admin accounts can ban anyone.

Email address? I assume you want to know why a friend is banned, so you'd have means of contacting them. If you want to know why random people are banned, then youll have to find contact details for them.

Wow. The rules here are quite easy to follow, you would have to try quite hard to get banned. It seems a bit too lenient for my taste though. But I guess that can be a good thing depending on how you look at it. It seems like the staff here are quite interesting folks though, so they probably keep everything in tip-top shape.

We could watch it fly, faster than I'm falling in love...

You're kidding, right? It's incredibly easy to get banned. Letting your anger get ahead of you, replying to spam pots in disguise...it's all too easy, and you're calling it lenient? What.

no, she is right. if you actually think before your post, it's easy to avoid being banned. if something makes you angry, don't reply. if you think it might be a spambot, don't reply. you need to break the rules 5 times (for most offenses) within a month and a half to get banned. it's not that difficult to avoid.

be sure to read the rules of every section before posting ;)

Self-control should be something everyone strives to achieve.

It's not that hard identifying spam bots. Their posts *usually* makes no sense. And even then, you shouldn't be replying to spam anyway. The Report button is there for a reason. Ellie basically summed up everything else.

Just message them another way (if you can) or talk to them IRL if possible.

the "replying to spam rule" is crap.
obviously, i'm not referring to replying to a spambot. but if a moderator decides a post is bad anyone who replied to it gets an infraction. i mean come on. i don't know how many people i've talked to that has received infraction points just for replynig to one post.

usually when people get an infraction for replying to spam it's for obvious spam posts that you should know not to reply to. if someone makes an offtopic post, is flaming, posts something very obviously spam, etc, then you should know that it's not okay to reply to it. replying to spam just makes more posts that we have to clean up.

They are allowed to contest the decision if they want then with the mod who gave them an infraction and so forth. =p

if there's an infractoin for something as stupid as that, there should be one for creating threads that serve no purpose in the same manner.
