On topic: I don't want to have to wait three weeks for the second leg against Real, I want to see it now. I was surprised Welbeck scored our goal. van Persie should have scored right at the end but he scuffed the shot completely which was a shame, 2-1 would have been an incredible result. Also it's as if Rooney and Kagawa swapped places during the game, Kagawa was going upfield an awful lot in the first half and Rooney seemed to be doing all the passing from midfield. De Gea had a fantastic game, one of his best in a United shirt.

Was anyone else surprised when Mourinho brought off Di Maria? He played really well too.

Plzen's trashing of Napoli in Italy is undoubtebly the result of the round, especially considering Napoli are second in Serie A.

Caught most of the Oldham Everton clash, didn't see any way back for Oldham in the dying moments, they were throwing crosses in there from all angles but it wasn't working out for them.

PSV had a narrow victory over FC Utrecht, we won 2-1. Van Bommel got his 9th yellow card of this season so he's banned from next week's game, the away match against Feyenoord. One of our defenders received a red card but we don't have anyone to fill in his particular position in the back. Though the other four matches all ended in a draw, including one of our close rivals. FC Twente played a 1-1 draw against Willem II. So we were able to increase the distance between PSV and Twente, giving us a bit more safety for the important match we play next week. Away. against Feyenoord...

Still can't believe we got knocked out by Blackburn... Just not clinical enough at times and it cost us a major way. Best chance to win a trophy dashed this season, only way to win one is going through the Champions League which I don't see us getting past Bayern at all unless we have the game of our lives. Bayern are looking damn impressive so far this season, it doesn't look good for us.

Watched most of Ivory Coast's games at the Cup of Nations and he was looking pretty good, but obviously something about putting a Arsenal shirt on doesn't work for him. Don't think anyone's giving you much of a chance against Bayern, perhaps rightly so, but nobody gave us a chance against them in last season's final and we all know what happened there

As for our FA Cup performance, after what happened to Everton and Arsenal was pretty relived to finally see us getting the job done against Brentford. Nice to see Lamps edging towards Bobby Tambling's record to. Know its been said a million times before, but I think its beyond crazy that we've not offered him a new deal yet.

Feyenoord surprisingly lost to PEC Zwolle with 3-2. And since FC Twente played a 1-1 draw yesterday, PSV manages to stay 3 points ahead ahead of Ajax at the top of the league, and 6 points ahead of Feyenoord and FC Twente. Next week's match is gonna be VERY important now.

I don't expect PSV to win there to be honest. Feyenoord hasn't lost a home game in 2 years.

We defended so well in that game, Jake Kean also pulled off some really top class saves. Getting Millwall in the next round is also good for us
It was also good to see David Bentley back in a Rovers shirt, hopefully he can get back his form before he left.

Nightmare second goal conceded by us, awful defending. Don't see us coming back this leg or the next but I'm still hoping for a miracle second half. COYG!
