Shame about the early starts but the 4 day weekends are great. I had that in semester one and now in semester two too! I got really bored at Uni today so I decided to just leave the lecture half way through. It seems like some of the more fun people have changed courses. *sad face*

How rude! Someone should throw a textbook at you!

    (I kid.)

It will be impossible for me to be bored this semester, my schedule is so heavy. I'm concerned I may have overloaded myself this time around. *sigh*

haha I love being a first year student! No heavy schedules, yet I still complain about the workload. Must be annoying having to attend all your lectures though. I'm not looking forward to year 2, 3, and 4!

Had three free classes today because a good few teachers were gone doing an interview for the vice principal's job. My mocks are in a few weeks though and I'm fretting because I haven't started studying at all :i

I did the same thing last semester. I had two labs in addition to all my classes. How many classes are you taking?

I am taking 4 courses at university right now, and even though the semester started only a couple weeks ago, I'm already feeling overloaded.

I guess it's just because the classes I have now require more note-taking than the ones I had last semester. Also, my Math and Japanese classes have tons of homework, which can take a long time to do. Especially Japanese.

Mocks exist to tell you how to pass exams. You just learn from your mistakes and write them down in the real thing. There is literally no reason to worry.

It's only a little bit after exams and the start of the 2nd semester but I feel as if already the teachers are unloading more work on me then they did the first semester...

Or maybe it's because of my goal to try and do better while still procrastinating on everything...

I'm going to have to break the procrastination habit before college hit or I'm probably going to be screwed.

Woo, learning about how "something isn't red. It's every color but red". My mind can't accept that either. Haha, so I'm really confused on that. Can Pink Floyd teach it?

Well yeah, that's true, but I always just get nervous about exams regardless of how pointless they are. Plus doing terrible in them just looks bad, even if they don't really mean anything.

I am soooooo happy, we hardly got any homework today from school, and my African pot in Junior Art Club is working out great.

...I know, it seems really out of place with all this... fuss going on... Anyway, good luck to y'all for this semester (as you Americans call it).

Could it maybe be the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia?

Congratulations on your success! If they conduct an interview with you in the future, MAKE SURE you know the name of their school and president, along with some other facts about the school. Good luck!!

And your professor is exactly right. Our eyes see the color that an objects REFLECTS, not the color that it IS. An object is every color except the one that it reflects. So it's like we see the inverse of color-reality. I could get more into this, about how there actually is no such thing as color in the first place, but let's just stick with one mind-bender for now. Science is AWESOME!

You can get into any college you want with all this knowledge.

I'd like to see how you define "color" before you tell me that there is no such thing in the first place.

Well, color is just a phenomenon that our eyes perceive when light reflects off of a surface. We can only see light wavelengths in between 400nm (nanometers) and 700nm, on an infinite scale of nanometers. Every animal can perceive a different spectrum in this scale - birds, for example, can see into the ultraviolet spectrum, which contains shorter waves (so higher nanometers). So birds can perceive more colors than we can. One day, something may evolve to be able to see microwaves or x-rays, and there's no telling what that would look like. Maybe more colors that we can't even imagine.

Basically, what we call "color" is is the way that HUMAN eyes perceive light reflections. Color does not look the same to any other animal but us. Because only we see the colors that we see, what we call "red" does not exist as red to anything but us. Furthermore, color only exists if there are eyes to see it - because, remember, color is just the way that eyes perceive light reflections. Without eyes, there is no such thing as color. Color is NOT a physical thing. It's kind of hard to imagine, and I'm probably going to get arguments against this because we are visual creatures and we rely on color to get us through our daily lives. It's not something that we think about, because our bodies have adapted to use it so inherently. But color is just our limited perception of photon waves within the 400-700nm range. It's not a physical thing.

Twice now, I've forgotten my coffee after brewing it. These early mornings suck.

My HR class is full of loud mouth, comment happy people who, with their less their intelligent comments, I would have thought were freshman due to their surprise at what the teacher is asking of us. Honestly, the class is one of my easier courses I've had and its a senior/junior level course.

Aaand, that's my last exam until summer done! Decision 2 wasn't too bad, althoughit was a little close with time constraints.

Study leave lasts for two more days though, so I am going to stay indoors and watch box sets until monday.

Same here, such a relief. I've been revising for these exams since June last year... I finally feel genuinely happy for the first time in months.
