I liked boh a little to be honest.
I grew up with Pokémon. And I cherish and love it. I watched every episode from the very first and I've read all of viz's pokespe translations out so far. And i first played the games starting from Pokémon Sapphire. And my favorite anime characters are Ash's female traveling companions and my favorite Pokespe characters are Sapphire and Platinum.

In all honesty, I really enjoyed playing through both games. I thought they had a lot to offer, and I found fun in spotting the differences between the two. I liked that both were different, but there was only one that truly stood out from the other. That game was; Gale of Darkness.
I like Gale of Darkness over Colosseum for a lot of reasons. For starters, I hated having to drag my partner around. Not only did I find her annoying, she was a burden most of the time. Although her unique ability makes her useful, other than that she felt like nothing to me. I thought she could of had a little more depth to her character, but we can't have everything we won't now can we?
Although I absolutely adored having Espeon, and Umbreon from the very beginning, I over all preferred just having Eevee along. It made me think; "Hmmmm, how will this affect my team if I decided to evolve my Eevee?" It made me analyze the structure of my team to come to a decision on which Eeveelution I wanted. While on the other hand, you're stuck with Umbreon, and Espeon without a choice. I prefer variety, over being given something almost at random.
A huge factor for me was the story difference between the two games. Not only does this count for the story, but also character development. I adored the story portrayed in Gale of Darkness over what was shown in Colosseum. I really liked some of the characters in Colosseum, don't get me wrong, but some of the characters in Gale of Darkness were better. I liked how you didn't expect any evil from the main villain in Gale of Darkness, whereas you had your suspicions about the Mayor all along in Colosseum. I thought that Gale of Darkness had a more Pokemon type feel to it over Colosseum.
In all, I believe that Gale of Darkness trumped Colosseum by a long shot.
Xd mostly due to the better story. Plus I like the snag machine in XD. And I think XD has better music.
Edit: and the ending has a better impact than Colosseum.

They're both great games, but I prefer XD because of its longer story, bigger emphasis on shadow pokemon, and somewhat easier difficulty.
