I bet you were wondering when my 880357885685th discussion thread would appear. Technically, this is my fourth one, so my 880357885685th will probably be whenever there are 880357885685 Pokemon. Anyway, say hello to Eelektross.
TYPE: Electric
ABILITY: Levitate
STATS: 85/115/80/110/80/50
TIER: RU
Ah, Eelektross. The only offensive Pokemon with no weakness. You have a movepool that extends ad infinitum, good offensive stats, and you're slower than a snail. let's see what he can do.
Generally speaking, if you want to use Eelektross effectively, it's best that you try to differentiate it as much as possible from Electivire and other, faster Electric-types. While this set doesn't do this per se, it does exhibit many features that Electivire cannot equal, such as its higher Special Attack stat and access to Grass Knot. For STAB, Eelektross has two good options to choose from. Wild Charge and Thunderbolt both have about the same power on foes with roughly equal defensive stats, but Wild Charge is preferable since it will always 2HKO Blissey with Stealth Rock, whereas running Thunderbolt requires that you run Brick Break to beat it, thus limiting type coverage. Wild Charge also gets a stronger hit on such foes as Tyranitar, and those it does not, such as Forretress, Skarmory, and Hippowdon, are usually covered by one of your coverage moves anyway. However, Thunderbolt is also very useful in its own right since it is unaffected by Intimidate, does not cause recoil damage, and means you can invest more heavily in the same stat as Eelektross's coverage moves (Flamethrower, Grass Knot, Hidden Power Ice). It also hits physically defensive Vaporeon for greater damage.
In terms of your coverage attacks, Flamethrower covers Grass-types, with particular emphasis on Ferrothorn, who is an extremely great pain otherwise. It also covers Steel-types such as Scizor and Metagross, which is helpful if you are running Wild Charge. The biggest threats who resist the combination of Electric / Fire are the grounded Dragons, such a Haxorus and Hydreigon. There are two options to hit these Dragons with—Hidden Power Ice and Dragon Claw. On the one hand, Hidden Power Ice easily 2HKOes both Hydreigon and Haxorus, and also allows you to take out bulkier Dragons such as Dragonite as well as Ground-types should you lack Grass Knot. On the other hand, Dragon Claw will OHKO Hydreigon and Haxorus with Stealth Rock, but will never OHKO bulky Dragonite and other such opponents, so you should decide depending on which you feel is more threatening to your team. In the last slot, Brick Break is pretty much solely for Blissey and Chansey, who take next to nothing from everything else. It also beats down Snorlax and Tyranitar. If you're running Wild Charge, you have no need of Brick Break, so you can run an additional coverage move. Grass Knot is a good choice, as it covers all Pokemon that are immune to Electric-type moves, notably heavy Ground-types such as Hippowdon and Quagsire.
Spoiler:- I say::
This is a way to use Eelektross if you want him to have immediate power. Good for your opponents. Wild Charge OHKOs Jelly when using a Naughty nature, while Thunderbolt htis Skarm and stuff harder. Your choice. Flamethrower is the only static move on this set, and it does a lot of damage, OHKOing Ferro and Scizor with ease. Dragon Claw hits stuff like Hydreigon and Haxorus, while HP Ice handles a vast slew of things such as Salamence, Gliscor, Landorus, and Dragonite. Your choice. Finally, Grass Knot is your best option against Quaggy and Gastrodon, while Brick Break beats Tyranitar.

Acid Spray

Grass Knot / Hidden Power Ice
Spoiler:- Smogon says::
Acid Spray is one of the moves that Eelektross gets that other Electric-types do not, which is an immense benefit to using it. In essence, Acid Spray is a 40 Base Power Poison-type attack; however, it is for its secondary effect that it is so prized. It will always lower the opponent's Special Defense stat by two stages, essentially doubling Eelektross's Special Attack. When combined with Eelektross's wide special movepool, this makes for a very effective strategy.
Thunderbolt is Eelektross's main STAB attack, and will maim just about everything it touches after an Acid Spray. Flamethrower destroys bulky Grass- and Steel-types, particularly Ferrothorn, and Grass Knot deals with Ground-types. Hidden Power Ice is a usable alternative if you are worried about losing coverage on Dragon-types, particularly Haxorus, who is a big threat to you otherwise. However, it has fairly redundant coverage with Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, and this combined with its relatively low Base Power tends to make it not worth using.
Spoiler:- I say::
This set may seem good at first glance, but it is not. Any Heatran can survive Thunderbolts with their natural bulk, and are immune to Acid Spray and Flamethrower. To further rub it in, you can switch to mitigate the Special Defense drops. However, with prediction, you can Acid Spray the switch-in causing more switching fun, which is great if you have hazards. This Eelektross is more meant to force switches, not to sweep.
Electric STAB, Flamethrower, Grass Knot and Hidden Power is pretty much the extent of its usable movepool. It doesn't hit very hard (compared to REAL hard hitters like Terrakion, Haxorus, Volcarona) and it doesn't take hits well even with max HP. Worse, its only possible niche as a wallbreaker is destroyed by its bad speed.. It needs to run a boosting nature to outrun Suicune and near max speed just to beat out Skarmory.
Its not good at all. I would rather use Electabuzz.. and no I did not mean Electivire. That's how bad the Eel is.
About the Acid Spray set, you would be better off replacing that move w/ HP Ice b/c Eelektross doesn't have nearly enough speed to make good use of it, whether it be b/c he tends to be 2HKOed or people just switch out into something that resists.

Well, I really like the acid spray set with the other 3 moves. I've watched once such a moveset on youtube and it looked impressive. I know, I'm not really stally, but this set looks damn epic if you have a teammate(s) who set up stealth rock and spikes. So with acid spray, people are scared that there pokes will die very quick, so they switch and so because of stealth rock and spikes you can use a nice strategy with elektross. btw, I gonna make this set when I've done with white. And this is NOT BAD!!! You just need to know how to use it. And maybe more defense on elektros with set helps better.
There is also another set you can use. I never used Eelektross myself yet, but I saw this set used against me before and it was fairly effective. Credit to smogon for copying most of the set here.
I guess it's a special attack set, with Coil being used as an accuracy boost for Thunder. It gives it a strong STAB, good coverage with Brick Break and HP Ice, and guarantees you hit like a truck.
The biggest thing to worry about with Eelektross seems to be speed, so I can see it being a fantastic Trick Room recipient. The fact that it has no weaknesses is a major plus too, since countering it means you need high attackers who have priority. But Coil allows for survivability and a stronger hit.
I actually like Eelektross' potential a lot, it has a very niche setting but can hit like a truck if you're not careful.
I use this guy in RU as a Quiver Dance Baton Pass recipient with a set of Thunderbolt/Flamethower/Grass Knot/HP Ice, and I must say, it does very well. It's coverage is great, and by RU standards it has decent bulk and good power behind its attacks. In OU, I wouldn't use it. It's terribly outclassed by...well, a lot of stuff. It's just a pity that it has higher Atk than SpA, since it's special movepool is where all the coverage and power is at. If you took just a few Base points from Atk and put them into SpA, we'd really be in business. But take what you get, I suppose.
Btw, quick typo. The OP lists Eelektross's SpA as 110. It's actually 105.

A difference of ten points is how many in terms of in-game stats?
With maxed out SpA it is still very viable as a special sweeper. What makes it appealing is the fact that it is a mixed attacker with some experimentation, and becomes real dangerous fast in that regard.
I like using this guy just for fun sometimes, he's got a couple interesting options you can do with him, but i don't really think he's good, just something fun to screw around with
Before the games came out, this guy looked amazing. No weaknesses, base 100 Attack and Special Attack, and pretty wide movepool. Alas, it was not meant to be. Terrible defenses and mediocre speed saw to that

You know we're talking about Eelektross, right? Base 115 Atk and 105 SpA, terrible speed, and decent defenses.

elektross might see some use in doubles, but no where else.
Yep we should ban baton pass, and weather too. Oh and Trick Room, I'm tired of having to worry about Trick Room all the time. Just ban the move Trick Room, and prankster, it's broken. Ban all status moves on prankster users, they're too cheap. Oh and ban Probopass to it's so cheap. Just ban everything except Magikarp with splash.
Well, actually Blaziken isn't really Uber because some people whined about how they were getting owned by it. I mean, it doesn't stand a chance in the Uber enviroment.
