When has VS mode ever been playable solo? VS implies multiplayer, since it means versus. Can someone tell me what game it was possible to play VS mode in single player?

Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart DS allowed single player VS mode. In single player VS mode, you can choose the difficulty of the CPUs, how many laps there are, item frequency, and tracks you race on (I feel like I've missed something, so if I did, someone correct me :x).

I prefer blasting people in Wi-Fi than playing against the CPUs. Gives me more of a challenge, anyway.

This game looks awesome though, I can't wait to get it, and retro studios is developing it which makes it even better.

Thunder cloud? do you mean the one that if you have it over your kart for too long it shrinks you?

They probably thought it was silly that VS mode would have a single player option

Honestly I'm genuinely surprised this is becoming an issue that is breaking people of the game because I have never heard anyone talk about it before now.
Ever. Like, in any capacity.
Multiplayer, gp, time trials, battles (oh god the battle discussions), tournies, rankings, all the characters all the karts every other single thing in the games but single player VS.

If they're looking to add characters to Mario Kart/Party/Sports, then I nominate Prof E. Gadd and Pauline. Not Metal Mario.

Rumor has it that the coin unlocks (kart pieces) are randomized. So, whatever you unlock at 50 coins ect. will vary.

Anyway in this game I plan to use Honey Queen <3 She is so my new favourite.

Vivian's thing is likely more of her sisters being asses to her. You know "Oh you're so ugly" or whatever and the joke just carries over. Goombella saying anything would be more like jealousy considering all the ladies in the party want Mario.

That said, Animal Crossing might have three (kind of)! Gracie the giraffe is a dude in Japan though I can't quite remember if he's just flamboyant or identifies as a girl, Saharah the camel is a dude in Japan and made a girl in the US [technical case] and Blanca is a boy who wears dresses (this one actually made it across the seas, a number of dialogs in the game have villagers confused at his gender).
Also I guess there's Bob, the male cat who wears the girl-type clothing (males wear shirts, girls wear skirts)

Vivian is female here and male in Japan. Let's just leave it like that because I prefer Vivian as a girl.

Actually, Vivian was apparently a female in Japan as well. It's just that it was questioned during the whole game due to her description and how she was called "Man" by Beldam as an insult. Her page on Mariowiki here says that in the end, Goombella concludes that she was, indeed, female.
