I downloaded some new fonts and brushes onto GIMP, I tried them out on my Ivysaur banner

wow, flawless-looking simple banners. *takes out magnifying glass*
Now let's see what's wrong with them XD

CON - there's random black lines next to the right side of the 'Dangerous' banner :/
PRO - That swirl/line/whatever around Ivysaur is an awesome effect ^_^ I have that same brush in my Vector brushes set and I had no idea when to use it, so you just gave me some ideas there.

Yeah I saw the black lines on my Nidorino banner, I must have moved the layer with those lines by mistake and not notice it until I uploaded it.

Yeah the Ivysaur one was just to play around with :P

excellent use of the Vector cloud brush. Now I am 100% sure we have the same Vector brush pack xD.
For additional vector, I suggest getting the Urban Vector brushes off of obsidiandawn.com; the downloading takes around one minute but well worth it

Banette Halloween Banner
The white light in the lower left corner looks like it was from the Perspective effect; there could've been some white in the upper right corner to balance the banner out, too :/

Zoroark Halloween Banner
Okay, that red left arm of Zoroark does not fit AT ALL :/
What the eraser tool is for, LOL
Anyway, I <3 the brushes used in this one, just really adds to it, and the scanlines texture is great
You MUST tell me the font you used for that one!!!

With the Skarmory one I was pretty amazed with how it turned out, despite the mess up with the borders.

The white light was just a smudged out edge brush to make it look like Banette is starting to get surrounded by mist.

Lol don't you mean his right arm? I should have moved that red layer behind Zororak ^^'
The font that was used for it is called 'Spooky Drips' I found it on Dafont.com.

And a well deserved one. You like to stay simple, however that doesn't mean they look plain AT ALL. They look subtly effected, but not overbrushed.
However, take care with borders. I'm not sure if this works in GIMP, but if you use the pencil tool while holing shift, you go in a straight line. And why did you blur the corners in the Nidorino banner?

The image on the right was rendered pretty well, I know it was an image because YOU DO NOT KNOW how many times that same render is used.

I like how there's only one flash of thunder that's white LOL
It makes it really stand out even more

But I really like the brush BG you used, looks like a combo of splatter and cobweb-like lines IMO.

TR banner: I was trying out something new, so I didn't expect much lmao

Victini Banner: The first time I had ever rendered something out of a pic like that, but I'm glad how it turned out.

Shop Banner: Again playing around with stuff, put the white lightining in by sheer chance though.
Yes it is Pokemon font, I have 3 different Pokemon fonts to play around with

Wear your fears: actually it's not pink, just really transparent red. The BG is just basically splatter brushes and the shattered glass brushes.
I know the image could have been moved over I know.

The only real problem is that the text could've been schooched over to Ho-Oh's side a bit :/

LOL, reminds me of my ol' Hypno on SS :3
The 'now you'll stay with me forever' text could've been under 'Little children, you weren't clever'.
Along with that, the focal could've been schooched down a notch, too.

That black border is just . . . meh, it looks out of place, too.
Plus the whole avatar itself could've used pizzaz, think of avatars as mini banners.

Those . . . bubbles . . . are really messing up the whole thing
A bokeh effect would've looked great in the BG, but over the Pokemon it looks wrong and horrendously messes up the banner

Legendary Guardians: It's just the hollowed out Pokemon font, I was really nitpicky on making this banner, so I wanted it to be balanced. I got mad at it so many times just to get it right.

Hypno: It was a request, the text was requested to be placed like that.


Driffon: Yet another request. Hard to decide on what I wanted on it, and how to make it.

Blue Avatar: Request again, I ended up overbrushing it the first time, so this is just a simple version of it.

Anyway, the only thing that bothers me, and it bothers me A LOT, is the text that's ON the border.
It just looks a bit wrong and . . . misplaced

Very good use of the Vector Arrow brush, I am also guessing the white bar the text is on is from one of crazykira's brush sets?
. . . Victini could be a moved a little to the right

eh, the BG in the Mario and Luigi banner doesn't really match; doesn't really go with the flow
I mean, it's gray . . . and pretty drab

Although the Darkrai extraction is great :3
The brick in the back is a nice effect, and so is Darkrai's shadow
