Well I was having some problems trying to figure out what colour to use for the MArio and Luigi Banner, so I went with a neutral colour.

And the Darkrai one, I was playing with shadow's and stuff, wanted to make them look better instead of just having them behind the character.

I like the simple style, too.

But you could have moved Zekrom a little up, to hide the blue spot on the back of his . . . head(?), because it kind of distracts you.
I mean, blue on shades of black stands out a lot xD

So I figured out how to make fragmentation banners in GIMP, got waaaaayyyyy too excited and made that ^

This is a pretty good banner, with a simple background that fits the render. But I'd just do it with normal borders.

This is also a pretty good banner, just try to use some different shades of the blueish grey to make it more interesting. Text isn't that readable too, try a border with 20% opacity or something like that



Try putting another image in the background to make it more interesting. Also what's the blue border you have in some places?

For the first banner, I was just playing around with rounded corners and shadows.

Zekrom Banner: Don't get me started on it, Zekrom was just supposed to stay in place and the background behind him was supposed to flash shades of grey. This is sadly the end result at my attempts at animating.

Pidgeotto Frag: I was going to put another image in the BG, but it wasn't working for me so I just started with something simple. The blue border, on the otherhand, is just a mistake.

Hey, it's an alright banner.

I gotta say, the bordering of the banner is unique.
I want to suggest, though, the brush strokes/usage behind the border of the banner was cut off. It leaves a weird look. I would probably go back and give a fuzzy blur to it. Maybe use a soft brush, enlarge it or use a large brush, and erase the edges of the cut off brush use.

The text - too pixely for the edges. Why does it have such a hard edge to the outlining of the text? It doesn't look good with the banner at all. =[

Use another font, and try to make it have a flow to the banner. If you don't like that suggestion, I would probably just add some glow to it. Also, get rid of the gradient of the text. It looks better with a solid white color, imo.

It's a pretty simple banner - great for a beginners banner. I'd probably experiment more with your render, colors, text, lighting, and possibly, some effects for the banner. With some effects, you can create a more interesting banner. You've probably seen c4ds being used in banners, which can help create a more interesting banner. It could also help create depth and flow, which becomes more important to making your banner a little more realistic.

I'm going to suggest play around with your render and maybe practice smudging? It's a really cool tool that can help you a lot to create an effect with your render.

the banners are nice i love them but the thing is what bothers me is the extractions there white around them for some reason try using images that may be already extracted cuaz thouse tend to be good images to use in banners...your work is great but it still seems a bit plain imo...try layering a bit more color varations or try to add some new brush techniques to it...over good job keep up the work

edit: as i stand i was looking at some your old banners the new ones are not bad

like i said in my edit i was looking at your old images at the front XD LOL the newer ones are not bad the only thing bothers me is the fragmentation banners they don't seem whole yet if you know what i mean...you need to add more effects to the border to make it look more of a fragmentation banner your cuts are getting better but still seem like a box still :/ try using fx effects to the background banner before using the polygonal tool or pen tool whatever you use...use bevel, inner shadow,inner glow, drop shadow...make sure the drop shadow and inner glow is to 135 degrees...i learned this in a fragmentation banner tutorial...if you have photoshop of course...just trying to help ^_^ if your doing all that then i don't know but the cuts still seem boxy in my opinion but your normal banners are nice
