Don't they tend to appeal to a similar crowd though? I always linked the two bands because they both get touted as kind of artsy or experimental, but apparently not alienating enough to stop them from getting radio airplay. (and because they often get mentioned in the same paragraph)

they are both british alternative bands, which is a pretty wide umbrella. the only other real similarity in my mind is they both achieved success. also showbiz was kinda reminiscent of the first 2 radiohead records i guess?

Radiohead were hugely popular, so it sort of follows that, generally, later bands in the genre are going to take after them just a little in many instances.
