People need to stop making a big deal about the place. A few shock images shouldn't effect anyone that much.

Warning! Boring Sig ahead.
A couple reasons for that:
- 4Chan (/b/ specifically) just like every other site goes through phases. Sometimes the place is alive and bustling with some of the funniest, most ****ed up threads you could imagine, then it slows back down with fail. It's like SPPf except it's still more interesting (even at it's worst).
- New***s keep coming in and ruining threads. A lot like here actually. Kids like Mewkachu who think they're hilarious come in and inadvertently wind up ruining everything. They kill every joke, fall for every troll, and don't even know what dubs or trips are. Incidentally they've also humanized the place. /b/ isn't nearly as cold and heartless as it used to be.
- 4Chan is a lot more than just /b/. If /b/ is boring that day, or just boring to you in general. Then try hitting up some of the other boards. Aside from /b/ I mostly hang around /mu/, /soc/, /sci/, /co/ and /v/.

When routine bites hard, and ambitions are low.
When resentment rides high, and when emotion won't grow.
We're both changing our ways, taking different roads.
Love. Love will tear us apart. Again.
I haven't been to /b/ mostly because I have heard there is the occasional child porn. (I've seen a "worst of /b/" photo section on ed so I know its not that traumatizing)
It was actually places like /v/, /co/ and /tg/ that I found dull, though it could have just been a slow period when I went.
/egl/ is pretty entertaining however, solely for the the amount of *****iness there.
I'm with you there for the most part. In all the time I've spent on /b/ I've seen all kinds of weird, disturbing, and illegal things. But I've honestly never seen anything on 4Chan that really bothers me or scars me for life. I think that speaks wonders about how de-sensitized I am. Once you've become a /b/tard coming across: gore, necro, or bestiality won't even faze you. I definitley don't enjoy it, but if you're trying to shock me it'll take a lot more than that.
It's all relative I think most of those places are worth a second look but if you don't like 'em, you don't like 'em. Nothings going to change that.It was actually places like /v/, /co/ and /tg/ that I found dull, though it could have just been a slow period when I went.
/cgl/ actually. You had me confused there for a minute. I've never set foot in the cosplay section. Most of it is just too sad for me too even laugh at. Then again,/egl/ is pretty entertaining however, solely for the the amount of *****iness there.
I don't think it's possible not to laugh at people like this.

Well Sailor Bubba is done purposefully as a joke. Man-faye started as one as well, before it turned into a pseudo protest.
Most cosplayer seem to fall into two categories: The ones who just look at it as a fun hobby (oftentimes the people who do joke costumes) and the *****y ones who take it way too seriously. /cgl/ is appears to mostly be composed of the second category.
I don't cosplay myself, but I managed to notice this due to a large amount of cosplayers in my extended social circle. Some of these people have had pictures on 4chan (some good some bad)
Okay I kind of went off on a longish tangent here.

Just googled Sailor Bubba. What a chill bro.
^ Is it me or does he look like Kim Il-Sung?
Eh if I had a nickel for every tangent I went off on.
I knew that cosplay photo was too awesome to be true, but I chose to believe it was a misguided weaboo anyways.
To me cosplayers are an alien subculture all to themselves. I know nothing of the intricacies involved and I never plan on getting in on the action. It's too costly and very rarely do cosplayers look anywhere near as good as they had imagined.
Again I'm sure this intentionally bad, but I'm choosing to believe it's inadvertent anyways.
