Play Red/Blue. The bugs are hilarious, I was reading over a list of them and apparently if Rage misses even once then it has a 255/256 chance of missing for the rest of the battle.

I love the original red and blue in a way the remakes could never hope to match.
It's not just the bugs, which range from stupid to awesome, but also the odd looking sprites, the freaky sound effects, the cities named after colors, the weird red or blue-ish tint you get when you play them on a color gameboy, and the strange TM's. It's just a very distinct experience that can't be replicated.
I especially love the fact that there is a water gun TM and was very dissapointed to see it gone in the remakes. Not because I particularly loved using the TM or anything, but because it felt like an entirely different approach to the game. A weak TM move that will probably only be relevant for a very short period of time ? Why the **** not ?
It's also worth mentioning the remakes are 2 generations obsolete by this point too, so they aren't quite as great as they were back in 2004.

Eh, I'm not in the mood for old school. If anything I SHOULD play through FR/LG because I never technically beat them and did any post game, but ehhh.
My boyfriend is also kind of motivating me to want to draw more, because a. he's an artist and just recently got into a motivating art kick and b. I have so many character ideas (most of the homestuck related- oh no) that I want to flesh out.
Basically I'm experiencing that thing where I want to do so many things that I end up doing nothing at all.
