I prefer slidephones with the mini-keyboards. They make texting really easy. I wouldn't switch to something that uses a touchpad. I would prefer to just get an i-pod touch or something similar if I want all the smartphone features. (plus that allows me to save my phone battery life for phone calls)

I have a lot of apps that I use for work. Sure I crap around on my phone a lot, but it's also real damn useful. If I'm at a theatre with no internet access and I need to pull up an email or reference something online, I can do it. I can send out emails or place an order online for something we need for the show wherever I am, which comes in handy since theatre involves a lot of communication and last minute work.
I got my phone primarily to use as an investment for my job. Yeah, not everyone uses their phone this way, but some people do. Surprisingly.

there have been so many times where i'm like "oh man i need to transfer some money" or "oh damn i forgot how to get to a place better check my map" or for traffic warnings or whatever. i imagine most people under 18 don't have much use for them, because they don't really have enough going on for them to need those features. wait til you grow up kiddies, then you'll want (and probably need) a smartphone

I should of clarified that, I was talking more about the general age group I'm forced to be around. I have family in the buisness area nd they use there smartphones and tablets to the uses that iwas suppose to be used for, I was just stating in general that most people don't use them for there original purpose and just use them to play games. That's all
