What's everyone's favorite song at the moment?

There's this one I can't get out of my head by Camilla and the Chickens.

    the lyrics are something like:

bawk bawk bawk bakawk bakawwk, bawk, baaaawk, bawk bawk bawk

dunno if anyone has heard of it.

this one techno song I always hear on the radio. I can't remember the name of that song but it goes like:

    dun dun dun dun
    dun dun dun dun
    err
dun dun dun dun dun dun
    dundundudndudndudundundundundundun

er er er er er er ER ER ER ER ER ER der der der derrr

k like then it will get real low then slowly start picking back up getting faster as it does
When routine bites hard, and ambitions are low.
When resentment rides high, and when emotion won't grow.
We're both changing our ways, taking different roads.

Love. Love will tear us apart. Again.

Oh my God I love the Muppets so fucking much. I still have to see The Muppets, though.

Also, my favorite song at the moment is Kansas.

Dude if you still haven't seen the new movie, you have to go run out and make amends. You won't regret it. My favorite scenes in the film are the ones with Jack Black. I don't wanna spoil anything for you though.

I loved it despite not having really grown up with the Muppets. When i was a kid, it only aired on cable, something we didn't have.

Sadly true. I, on the other hand...

Though, I guess some of the things I listen to could be considered a little rotten.

Everyone has their guilty pleasures. No matter how confident one professes to be, there's always that one band or artist you listen to shamefully.

For me it's My Chemical Romance. Say what you will about that whole emo pop-punk craze, but I think The Black Parade is hands down one of the greatest mainstream rock albums of the last decade.

I sometimes listen to Spice Girls on the walk to the lecture site to try and alter my mood from sleep-deprived zombie to academic go-getter. I have no illusions about the Spice Girls having any higher musical genius, but they do put a spring in my step, thanks to the good ol' nostalgia element.

Guess I won't need Spice Girls to get to lectures awake now though. Hurrah for a new coffee machine!

I have, first heard the song at a drag show.

Coincidentally enough I finally got around to seeing the muppets today.

I can't get the keyboard solo from Sigh's Slaughtergarden Suite out of my head. I can see the melody lines drifting in my head. It's maddening and I am starting to feel my mind tearing away from reality.

I guess I don't really have a favorite song at the moment.. Actually, I haven't listened to much music lately, Christmas music aside, I've been spending a lot of time with my family so the headphones haven't had much use.

I will say, lately I've been really into Vitamin String Quartet. They do covers of popular music, for anyone out there unfamiliar with them. Anyway, their Lady Gaga tribute is really catchy.

Funny you should mention the Vitamin String Quartet. I was just listening to them. Some of my favorite VSQ songs:

    Bad Religion - American Jesus

Derek and the Dominoes - Layla

Guns 'N' Roses - Knockin' On Heaven's Door

    Metallica - Fade To Black

    Opeth - Harvest

    Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

Nice! They put out a lot of quality covers. I'm actually planning to use a lot of their music for the Sound Design in a version of Hamlet I'm designing.

Interesting. Which covers are you using and what scene(s) will they be used in?

I haven't really gotten that far into the design yet, to be honest. I only have a few ideas. I'm on a bit of a break for the holidays.

Thinking of this one for the end fight. Might use this for some Hamlet/Ophelia moments.

I know I want to use some Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and Muse covers too. Not sure where or what specifically.

Favorite songs, eh? While I don't have a favorite, one that has been stuck in my head recently that I've taken a liking to is Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People.

Oh lord, I have a lot of oddball pop things in my collection. But if I had to choose that one shameful thing, Florence and the Machine. She's a decent person (based on her Colbert Report appearance), decent enough voice, fair lyrics, but bloody hell is the Machine part of the equation shameful to me.

And I guess if we're discussing favorite single songs of whenever... Well, I always have something in my signature, usually of a pretty nonoffensive sort... whatever that means. Of late, my song of choice is this particularly great tune by German band Eisbrecher. Not that I don't always like it of course, but it does go through fairly lengthy periods of being my favorite song. (Like when I played Persona 4. Specifically the third dungeon when I spent forever and a crap leveling and upgrading skills.
