    Wonderland Island
Raunchy Fad- As you saw your partner in crime escape without you, you realize that you have been left for dead, all these angry Snorunt have you surrounded in a place where you had no idea where you were. As you stood there whimpering, little Rocky decided to take action despite her disadvantage against the icy cold pokemon in icy cold surroundings. As Rocky charged at the Snorunt in order to protect you and Mr. Pipes, something didn’t seem right. Rocky’s once helmet capped head sprouted a leaf; she stopped in disbelief as the wooden cap popped off her head and hit the floor. She soon had a sprout coming out of the middle of her face, and she suddenly felt taller to see she now had legs. Her whole body seemed to enlarge; soon Rocky noticed she had grown arms, she let out a yell and was pleased to see she actually had a mouth now, it became apparent that the once tiny Seedot, Rocky, and now blossomed into a cheerful Nuzleaf! “Rocky, man, you… you’ve got nipples!” you shouted as you began to laugh. Both Rocky and Mr. Pipes began to prepare for battle, Mr. Pipes pulled out a bottle of Fiery Fizzybrew Beer you had been saving and drank it, preparing to let out a massive Fire Blast attack. Meanwhile, you order Rocky to use Seed Bomb and Razor Wind, anxious to retreat from this battle.

Mr. Pipes couldn’t hold it in any longer, he spit out a huge flame which pushed back the Snorunt , enlarging the diameter of space you have. While Rocky’s seed bomb didn’t do as well, it did harm a few of the Snorunt, though her Razor Wind blew away many of the Snorunt, lowering their numbers, Paul tried to count the number of Snorunt left, and estimated there were twenty Snorunt left. Angered that you escaped your cell, it didn’t appear that the Snorunt would let you off so easily while they began to bombard the three of you with various Bites and Headbutts.

Deamon Skittle- With all the contestants present, the tournament instructors began to call up each participant to pick a number out of a hat that stood upon an ice pedestal. As the constants received their slots, you sit and wait patiently until you are called up. You walk up to the hat and quickly pull out a number, anxious to see what number you get, and who you will be facing. As you stare at the number, you can’t help but feel unpleased with the number, 15, which placed you in the last battle of the first rounds. “It's just a number that places you in a place on the tourney tree. Relax, it's not an omen or anything” Prestige blatantly remarked as you sat in the room full of anxious trainers. One by one, trainers returned either overjoyed with their victory, or disappointed with their defeat. At last, only two contestants remained in the room as the others were all either outside watching the battles as they worried about the next round, or left due to defeat. Your opponent was an older man, possibly more experienced than you. “Will numbers 15 and 16 please take their positions?” asked the announcer, as the two of you were ushered towards the stage. The stage fright you were feeling made you want to disqualify and run away, but Prestige insisted on making you battle. So you take a deep breath and head on to face the music. As you stand opposite the elderly man, the two of you wait for the announcer to give you the green light to begin battling. “1, 2, 3, BEGIN!” shouted the announcer as the elderly man released his choice for this battle. “Go, Paras!” shouted the man as he threw the red and white pokeball into the air. The ball opened, releasing an almost blinding light that quickly formed into Paras, the mushroom pokemon. Recognizing the pokemon from your home town of Azalea Town, you decide to bring out a pokemon of the same power. Your pokeball also opens with a blinding light, but out of your pokeball comes Al, the Aron. The small pokemon was soon overwhelmed by the huge amount of people, something he was certainly not used to. He examined the opposing pokemon and realized he was in a battle, Al tried to look as menacing as possible, but it had no affect on Paras.

“Use Harden first, then Swagger to provoke it, followed by a Firestream!" you declare as the older man gives orders to his Paras, “Paras, use Scratch, Pursuit, and Bug Bite!” As the two trainers give their orders to their pokemon, the two pokemon quickly charge into battle. Paras leapt towards Al to Scratch, but the little Aron counters by Hardening his defenses. While the Paras was still close by, Al uses Swagger to confuse Paras, to which Paras strikes itself with a Pursuit attack. The Paras struggles to regain control, and successfully gives Al a Bug Bite. Al soon retaliates with a Firestream which Paras manages to avoid thanks to its wobbly walk from the confusion.

    What will you do?

As the Paris charged towards Al, he squeaked and Hardened on instinct, a panicked look in his eyes. The Paris's claws came in contact with the hardened steel, and Alina heard a loud "KLANK" and saw the Paris stumble back, its attack nearly ineffective against the steel type. Quickly regaining his senses, Al began to strut forward, mocking its opponent, which was a drastic change in demeanor for the little Pokemon, but was successful in confusing the Paris none the less. Now confused, the grass type struck itself with its own attack instead of managing to get a hit in, leaving Alina's Aron basically unscathed. Things were looking good for Alina and Al, until the Paris regained some control over itself and managed to give Al a Bug Bite, thus sending the little Aron cowering backwards over itself. However, Al was determined to follow orders, no matter how hard it may be, and retaliated with a Firestream, which sadly missed the Paris due to its wobbly state of confusion.

Al began to creep forward to apologize for confusing the Paris until Alina cried "NO, don't do that! Just, stay there!" The Aron stopped dead in its tracks, looking back at Alina, who saw a slight blemish on her Pokemon's armor due to the bug bite. Other than that, he didn't look that damaged at all, light reflecting off of his clean, metallic back. However, he still looked very much shaken from the large crowd and the thought of having to battle at all. Alina had felt like hiding under a rock herself, but the battle had drawn her attention away from the crowd to focus on actually winning, and so far things weren't looking too bad. Sure, Alina didn't get a hit in, but at least she was successful in confusing her opponent...

"Alrighty," Alina began as she watched the Paris stumble back and forth on the battlefield. "Hold it still for a second with Voodoo Bugaloo and try another Firestream while it's still. Headbutt it when you get the chance."

Demon Skittle- The first round battles were nearly complete, just waiting on your battle with the elderly man and his Paras. Al was doing well, but was hardly able to strike the elusive Paras, while Paras was able to strike, but with very little affect against Al’s steel armor. The battle proved to be a tad trickier than you anticipated. The little steel pokemon was struggling due to his case of stage fright, as were you, but the two of you were able to fight very well despite that handicap. In fact, it was hardly noticeable that either of you were having any problems from the viewers eye. You notice the past round winners all sitting near the battle arena, they all seemed to be tough, and all very impatient for the next round battles. As you stare at them, you notice a familiar face, the young woman Samantha was placed at the seat, seeming very pleasant and excited for your battle. “You can do this Alina!” she cheered from her seat, giving you just what you need to help you battle better. You smile at her as she cheers you on, then return to the battle and give your orders to little Al. “Hold it still for a second with Voodoo Bugaloo and try another Firestream while it's still. Headbutt it when you get the chance.” You command as Al nods in agreement and dashes into the battle once more. “Now Paras, I want you to use Bug Bite again, then use Leech Life, and finally, use Scratch!” commanded the old man as his Paras also rushed into battle with a determined look on its face.
Being a tad faster due to a lighter body, Paras starts with another Bug Bite, doing just as little damage as it did before, leaving a little bump on Aron’s hard protective shell. Al quickly shook the bug pokemon off and grabbed hold of it using Voodoo Bugaloo, while causing pain in the process, and was finally able to strike the Paras with Firestream. The explosion of flames engulfed Paras as the audience could hear little shrieks and shouts coming from the Paras, as the flame withered away, a soot-covered Paras was revealed to be lying on the floor. Having little strength left, the bug tried to counter with Leech Life, which was able to restore a sliver of health left, but not enough to make a difference. Al then charged at Paras with Headbutt while Paras charged in with its own move, Scratch. The two collided, but with uneven power, making Al headbutt the Paras across the arena, unable to battle. The judge ran to the Paras to make sure before he declared, “PARAS IS UNABLE TO BATTLE, ALINA AND HER ARON WIN!” the crowed roared with applause, as did the anxious victors before you. Lv. Up for Aron

As Samantha cheered from the sidelines, Al readied himself for round two. The Paras charged forward, Al being unable to avoid the attack due to his armor, and bit down hard on the Aron's armor. It dented slightly, but the attack was pretty ineffective overall. Having just enough time to attack before the Paras could continue its assault, Al quickly summoned a little voodoo image of a Paras before thrusting a psychic pin through it. The Paras stopped dead in its tracks, completely paralyzed and crying out in pain. Alina's Pokemon then took the opportunity to fire a quick blast of flames from his mouth, engulfing the Paras in a small inferno. Shrieking as the Voodoo Bugaloo wore off, the mushroom Pokemon scuttled about the arena, trying to extinguish the flames tearing away at its small body. The flames soon withered away, leaving a very cooked bug on the other side of the arena, barely able to stand. However, despite its wounds, the Paris still charged forward with one last shot at redemption. There was another sound of claws against metal as the Paris desperately tried to leech some energy from Al, but its claws where unable to penetrate the steel armor, thus resulting in little energy gain. Again, Al shook the Paras off, and, in one final blow, headbutted his opponent across the arena, leaving the gentleman's Pokemon unable to battle.

“PARAS IS UNABLE TO BATTLE, ALINA AND HER ARON WIN!” the ref announced, leaving Alina in a state of shock as her Aron looked apologetically at the fainted Pokemon. She quickly congratulated her Pokemon for his victory, and thanked the gentleman for a good battle, desperately wanting to leave the stage as quickly as possible. At least she didn't lose in the first round, so there was nothing for her to be embarrassed about. Also, the fact that she won an easy battle with the weakest of the three Pokemon she had chosen was just as comforting. However, things would only get harder from here, as she joined Samantha in the sidelines to watch round 2...
OOC: Such a short reply. Kind of ran dry. :x

A chain of islands made up of enormous icebergs set deep in the Southern Ocean. Each island is connected by the Glacier Train, a train that is able to glide across the ocean on a pair of railroad tracks. The weather is extremely harsh so if you are not careful you could freeze to death in an instant. But the most surprising, and as yet unfounded, story about these glaciers is that there are rumored reports of a secret area where a mysterious and very strong Pokémon resides, sleeping deep within the ice.

    Areas:

Research Island: A rather small island, here is where the top scientific minds gather to solve the mysteries inside the Pokémon world. Research Island is just big enough to house the Ice Core Institution of Science and Technology (ICIST). Many criminals and rivals alike try to steal information that ICIST has worked very hard to obtain.
Karmas felt giddy as he walked towards the Ice Core Institute of Science and Technology. Along with the trainer was a giant green dinosaur and a armored bug about the size of her trainer. Banane had reluctantly agreed to journeying into the Glacier Islands, but Slizar was all for the chance to journey through conditions that would hinder her.

"So you guys excited?" Karmas asked.

Banane gave Karmas a look which couldn't mean anything other than 'Are you being serious', while Slizar nodded her head and pumped her claw into the air; a sign that she was very excited.

"Well then, that's good," said Karmas.

The trio continued walking towards the ICISC, wondering what will happen to them while they were there.

Welcome Food Guy! Nice to have you aboard! And AD, sorry abou the update, it should have been longer, I guess I forgot to copy some of it. he he, sorry. ^^;; Anyways, it's been placed in todays update.

    Glacier City

    Artificial Dragon
    - Winning the first round, you feel comfortable and more relaxed battling, knowing your weakest of the three choices was able to win, and fairly easily at that! You thank your older opponent for the battle to which he replies, “Thank you as well, good luck in the tournament!” he congratulated before he cradled his burnt Paras and left for the pokemon center. The crowds cheer began to simmer down as you exited the battle stage and joined the fellow victors; among them was your newest friend, Samantha. “That was a great battle Alina!” the young woman congratulated as she was already filled with excitement for the next round. “WILL ALL VICTORS PLEASE RELOCATE YOURSELVES BACKSTAGE!” shouted the announcer, pointing to the door which led to the room you were once in earlier. “Come on Alina, let’s hurry, now the tournament will really get started!” Samantha exclaimed with excitement. With that, the remaining eight participants began to head to the backstage area. Looking around you, you see some pretty intimidating people. Some were bulging with muscles, and others had plain nasty expressions on their faces as if to say, “No mercy! I’m going to kill you!” Feeling the pressure, you can’t help but feel a little bit of anxiety surface. These people were all tough and were prepared for battle. Among all the nasty opponents were but two friendly faces, besides your own that is, one was your new friend Samantha, but there was another, a boy about your height. His hair was pure white and his skin was pale, he had crystal blue eyes and a feeling of innocents surrounding him. He approaches you and Samantha as if he knew you well. “It’s good to see you again this year Samantha.” He said, his voice more cynical than his appearance, “I’ll make sure to beat you this year!” he said. “Hmp, it wont be that easy!” she replied, “Oh! Alina, this is someone I know from last years tournament, his name is Kris. Kris, this is my new friend Alina, she’s one to watch out for too, she has just as much potential to win as you and me.” She finished. “Ah, nice to meet you Alina, I hope to see if you are as good as Samantha, the previous Glacier City Champion, just said you are.” Kris said as he smirked and gave you a “thumbs up.” Shocked to learn that Samantha was the previous champion of this tournament, you can’t shake off your anxiety and nervousness.

The eight contestants all arrived backstage, eager to continue the tournament, it was surprising to you at how many people who once filled the room, are no longer here. “OKAY!” shouted the announcer, “SO NOW THAT THE FIRST ROUND IS OVER, THE ADVANCING CHALLENGERS WILL MOVE UP TO THE NEXT OPPONENT ON THE TREE.” You look around for contestant 14, the winner of the match before you and your next opponent, to find a rather morbid looking soul, she was dressed in pure black and her equally dark hair covered most of her face. “NOW WILL THE NEXT TWO CONTESTANTS PLEASE TAKE THEIR POSITIONS OUT ON THE STAGE!” shouted the announcer as trainers began their battles. Being in the last battle, once again, you sit and wait for your turn as the numbers thin even more. “WILL CONTESTANTS 14 AND 15 PLEASE TAKE THE STAGE!” shouted the announcer, to which you took your place across from the morbid girl. “Battle, Hitmontop!” she shouted, throwing her ball which released the Handstand Pokemon, Hitmontop. “Hit…” sighed the equally morbid pokemon.

    What will you do?

    Food Guy-
Arriving upon the winter island of education, the Ice Core Institution of Science and technology, your companion, Banane the Tropius, wasn’t exactly thrilled to be in such a cold environment. While Slizar the Scisor, on the other hand, was excited to visit the winter paradise of Glacier Island. The three of you enter the campus, filled with wonderment as you viewed the incredible architecture of the enormous buildings, you were so awe struck in fact, that you didn’t notice the person carrying too many books in front of you; the two of you bump, causing all of his books to go flying about. “Gah! My books,” he says as he ran about on the ground, trying to collect his books, “Why don’t you watch where you’re walking from now on!” he shouted frantically as the glasses on his thin face began to slip. “These books are important for the professor, if I loose a single thing, why, don’t even want to think about it!” he continued as he shuddered from the thought of what his professor might do in the situation. “By the way, who are you anyways?” he asked as he stood up, waiting for an answer. He was indeed a very thin young man; his hair was a very messy and a dark navy blue color, not to mention he was fairly pale. The student wore glasses twice the size of his eyes and had a slight hunch, possibly from carrying so many books. He wore a white lab coat, covered with fleece to protect him from the cold, trailing down to his ankles. “Wait, how rude of me… My name is Anthony.” He said proudly, pointing his thumb to his chest. You soon introduce yourself as Karman. “Well, Karmas, since you ran into me, it sure would be nice if you would help he carry all these books to my professor.” He said, smirking as if you owe him one for knocking the huge stack of books out of his arms.

Karmas was awestruck as he, Banane and Slizar entered the campus. In fact he was so awestruck that he failed to notice a person who was carrying too many books. Karmas bumped into the person and his books fell to the ground.

“Gah! My books,” he said as he ran about on the ground, trying to collect his books, “Why don’t you watch where you’re walking from now on!”

“These books are important for the professor, if I loose a single thing, why, don’t even want to think about it!” he continued as he shuddered from the thought of what his professor might do in the situation. “By the way, who are you anyways?” he asked as he stood up, waiting for an answer.

Karmas looked at the boy, taking in his appearance. The boy was very thing and young, with pale skin and dark navy blue hair. He wore glasses that seemed two sized too big, and he had a slight hunch; possibly from carrying too many books around. He wore a white lab coat, which was covered all the way down to his ankles in fleece.

“Wait, how rude of me… My name is Anthony,” he said proudly, pointing his thumb to his chest.

"Uh, I'm Karmas. Nice to meet you," replied Karmas.

“Well, Karmas, since you ran into me, it sure would be nice if you would help me carry all these books to my professor,” he said, smirking.

Karmas got the feeling that Anthony thought that Karmas owed him one after accidentally knocking over his books. But he couldn't just tell him no, that was too rude and Karmas was better than that. Instead he turned to Slizar.

"Slizar, can you help us with carrying these books?" asked Karmas.

The Scizor nodded her head and went to pick up the books. As the Scizor did this Karmas realized that have Banane around might end up being a problem. He quickly unclipped the dinosaur's ball and returned him, to Banane's delight.

"So where do we need to go?" Karmas asked Anthony after he clipped Banane's ball back onto his belt.

    What will you do?
I found time and replied! Oh man oh man oh man!

“Yow!” Paul cried, vigorously trying to dislodge a snorunt that had chomped down onto his forearm. Mr. Pipes and Rocky suffered similar problems as the snorunts made their rather savage attack. Frightened, Paul did a little dance and recoiled a few steps backwards, trying to avoid any further confrontation with the little conical beasts.

“Drink more of that spicy grog little buddy,” Paul cackled to his magby, drawing his arms around himself and tugging his corduroy jacket tightly. “Drink more grog and get me outta here, pleeaase!”

The magby drew the flask to his lips and took a slightly smaller gulp of the liquid and prepared to let out a flame wheel that may send some of the snorunts ricocheting out of the cavern. Rocky in turn lowered her head to create some more razor wind, all the better to create a path that could help them all get to an exit.

Taking a few more steps back, Paul readied himself to charge forward after his pokémon attack. “I wanted a vacation!” he yelled through clenched teeth, with an absolutely daffy expression on his face. “I wanted to play in the snow! What is this sh*t, what is this SH*T?” He then began to giggle in excitement anticipating the moment that he could be able to make his way through the little gremlins that he and his friends were up against.

Rocky and Mr. Pipes glanced at each other, both with a look of disdain on their faces. Paul’s attitude worried them, and it had been a while since they had seen him curled up on a sofa with a pipe in his mouth. They prepared another attack each. Rocky decided to bide it out and see what she could do, and Mr. Pipes simply reminded himself to let out a bunch of will-o-wisps once his fiery burp was over and done with.

Hopefully it's okay to post this. It looked like there were a few openings. Let me know if it's not, and I'll remove it. -H

Clackety-clack, clackety-clack, clackety-clack. Chewing up the rails on its daily trek across the arctic archipelago, the serpentine form of the Glacier Islands Express Train came into view as it snaked around a bend in the tracks. Whistling and tooting, it belched a great puff of grey-black smoke into the frosty air. To passengers riding in the multi-windowed observation car, the snow-capped trees dotting the region, and the waterfalls of ice dazzling along frozen streams, would undoubtedly have been a breath-taking sight. Wrapped in an eternal blanket of white, the chilly countryside gave off an air of purity and simplicity.

The beauty of the wintry landscape was lost on the Trainer Benjamin Hale and the Meditite Medeo, however. Only seconds ago, four angry-looking people had barged into the passenger compartment where the two had been relaxing. The irritated quartet now stood glowering at the astonished pair. “There he is, Officer!” a short, blonde-haired boy in a blue suit and tie exclaimed as he pointed an accusatory finger in Medeo’s direction. “He’s the thief!” The wealthy lad practically spat the last word. Dressed in a navy uniform, a portly, middle-aged man with a bushy mustache took a step toward the Yoga Pokemon, arms outstretched, trying to prevent an escape attempt. Reflexively, Medeo inched backward.

Slipping in front of his rapidly retreating friend, Ben positioned himself between the little Meditite and the train’s security guard. Ben held up his hands, palms forward, and calmly said, “Hold on a minute. Tell me what this is about.”

Standing near the room’s sliding doors, a distinguished man in a chestnut-colored blazer with matching fedora regarded the teenage trainer condescendingly. “We were enjoying a meal, my son, my wife, and I, when he…” Pausing briefly, the gentleman threw a scornful glare at Medeo.

“…stole my candy bar and cookies.” The rich boy interrupted, not waiting for his father to finish.

“They were imported from far-away Regions.” A prim woman in an elegant, emerald evening-gown interjected snobbishly, from her husband’s side.

The gentlemen noisily cleared his throat before continuing. “Ahem. As I was saying, he pilfered my son’s desserts.”

Spinning around, Ben locked gazes with his diminutive companion. “Is this true, mate?” he asked, dreading the answer. Medeo nodded sheepishly, then hung his tiny, onion-shaped head in shame. “Aw, mate…” Ben said in exasperation, dragging a hand through his short brown hair. “We came here to bury our old lives, not revive them… I know you’re hungry - I am too - but we already agreed to give up thieving.” Turning to face the foursome, Ben spoke. “I apologize, sir. Medeo and I used to be members of the gang Red Gyarados. We’ve traveled to this land to help anyone in need and to atone for the wrongs of our past… It’s been a long time since we’ve had a decent bite to eat. Medeo didn’t mean anything by it, he was just hungry.” As if on cue, the Meditite’s stomach gurgled pitifully.

Harrumph. Why, you’re nothing but common criminals.” The socialite jeered.

“Your vulgar history and current state of malnourishment are of no concern to me,” the gentleman answered derisively. “I do, however, demand that you make complete restitution. I expect full compensation for the cost of my son’s desserts - consumed by your poorly-trained Meditite.”

It was now Ben’s turn to look sheepish. “Uh, well, you see, I, uh, kind of, uh, lost all our money at the Casino,” he said, glancing nervously at the man with the bushy mustache. “I’m broke and out of money. I can’t pay you back.”

Until now, the train’s officer had followed the conversation with only mild interest; he was supposed to be on break, and didn’t really care about a missing candy bar or cookies. However, at the sound of the words, “out of money,” the wheels in his mind started turning. Slowly. His brow wrinkled in deep concentration, he absentmindedly stroked his moustache. He continued stroking the sides of his cookie-duster, as he recalled hearing on his two-way communicator about a pair of stowaways who were supposedly hiding onboard the train. Suddenly, his face flushed a deep shade of crimson, as he rightly guessed that the pathetic, penniless pair in front of him were the rumored freeloaders. “DON’T MOVE!” the security guard bellowed. His big, booming voice echoed around the small compartment, causing the socialite to get dizzy and cover her ears. “How exactly did you pay for your train fare then, IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY?!” he thundered, unclipping four Pokeballs from his belt. A bit of an overreaction; but Ben and Medeo exchanged an anxious glance and simultaneously took a step backwards. At the same time, the gentleman and his son realized they probably weren’t going to get any money back for the food Medeo had eaten, and produced four of their own costly Ultra Balls. At the sight of four more capture capsules, Medeo instinctively adopted the Might of the Dragonite Guardian pre-combat kung fu pose.

“I, uh, well…” Ben began, but the teenage trainer had seen enough. He knew this confrontation wasn’t going to end well for himself and Medeo. They needed to get out of there. Fast. Thinking quickly, he came up with an idea. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this one, mate… Quick, the window!” Ben exclaimed. “We’ve got to get out of here!” The perceptive Medeo guessed Ben’s plan instantly, and nodded. With all the speed of a fired BULLET, he PUNCHED the center of the panoramic window. With an ear-splitting crash, the glass exploded out; splintering into hundreds of miniature fragments at the force of Medeo’s blow. Immediately, a frigid gust of wind rushed in through the jagged hole in the wall. The swirling air created a mini-cyclone in the cabin that whipped off the dapper gentlemen’s fedora and tugged playfully at the bottom of the socialite’s skirt. Taking advantage of the momentary confusion, Ben yelled, “GO!” and before anyone could stop them, he and Medeo leaped through the broken window.

    * * *

Adrenaline coursed through the veins of the Meditite Medeo as he dove headlong out the window of the speeding train. Savoring the momentary sensation of weightless freefall, he had only an instant to feel grateful that he wasn’t a Snorlax or some other sedentary Pokemon. Hugging his tiny knees to his chest, he tucked himself into a ball and front flipped in midair; rotating his limber body head-over-heels 360 degrees. As the ground rushed up to meet him, he deftly pulled out of his mid-air somersault. Bracing for touchdown, he extended his arms out in front of himself. His palms made contact with the earth first, leaving his little frame temporarily in a handstand position. He remained inverted for only a split second, however, and acrobatically swinging the rest of his upside-down body forward, nimbly executed a front roll. After tumbling through the powdery snow a few more times, he finally came to a rest in a seated position. Exhilarated, but unharmed, he watched as the train chugged out of view.

Ben had thought the air that had been let in through the window was cold, but the air that now smacked him in the face and screamed passed his falling body took his breath away and made his eyes water. He tried to roll himself into a ball like his little partner had done, but found he wasn’t limber enough to turn a somersault mid-air. Knowing there was no way he would land as athletically as Medeo, Ben was simply glad the drifted snow would provide a soft, cushiony landing. With a thud!, he landed awkwardly on his shoulder and skidded facedown in the snow for a few metres before coming to rest not far from his Meditite companion. Gasping, he rolled over onto his back and tried to catch his breath.

Ben lay on his back in the snow for a few minutes, staring up at the sky, breathing heavily. His shoulder hurt, and he knew it had taken the brunt of his landing. Sitting up, he sighed and rubbed it gingerly. It was going to hurt for a while. After a moment of gentle massage, the teenage trainer stood and brushed the snow off his canvas messenger bag. Lifting up the flap, he fished around inside the satchel for a moment and withdrew a Pink Pokeball. He pressed the round trigger switch in the center of the containment orb and a brilliant, scarlet light appeared, followed by a monochromatic wolfpup. Released from her makeshift prison, the Poochyena Hyneo threw back her head and gave a melancholy howl. Medeo, who himself despised the cramped confines and artificial atmosphere of his own capture capsule, immediately noticed Hyneo’s displeasure. Concerned, he quickly rose from his snowy seat, hurried over to the Bite Pokemon, and gently petted her between the ears. Grateful, Hyneo turned to the yoga Pokemon, barked happily, and jumping up, playfully licked his tiny face. Watching the interaction of his young companions, Ben felt sincerely thankful that they got along so well.

While his two tiny partners momentarily entertained themselves by rolling around in the snow, Ben surveyed the surrounding tundra with his grey-green eyes and considered their next course of action. He knew very little about this polar climate zone, besides what was already common knowledge. Surrounded by the great Southern Ocean, each of the iceberg islands could be easily accessed by taking the Glacier Train. The weather was extremely harsh and unforgiving, and he knew that if they weren’t careful, it would be easy to freeze to death. They would need to find a shelter of some kind soon. He had overheard stories from the passengers on the train of a powerful, enigmatic Pokemon, slumbering beneath the ice, and he shuddered at the thought of encountering it on its home territory.

Lost in thought, a sharp tug on his trouser leg suddenly snapped Ben back to reality. He glanced down at the belt-high Meditite at his side. “What’s up, mate?” he asked. Medeo grinned and pointed excitedly at something in the distance. Ben’s vision was not as good as the sharp-eyed Meditite’s and he had to strain to make out what it was. “Buildings?! Here?!” he finally remarked in astonishment. “It looks like some sort of small town. There doesn’t seem to be much else around. Why don’t we check it out?” Hyneo barked happily while Medeo nodded, and, full of curiosity, the trio set off in earnest toward the distant structures.

Don't worry about it. Sorry for the lateness, as I was kind of feeling a bit down and stressed over family/friends. ;C

“That was a great battle Alina!” Samantha exclaimed. Alina merely smiled, relieved to have what she believed was the worst round of battles over with. “WILL ALL VICTORS PLEASE RELOCATE YOURSELVES BACKSTAGE!” the announcers cried, Samantha nearly dragging Alina to the backstage as she brimmed with excitement. “Come on Alina, let’s hurry, now the tournament will really get started!”

The remaining 8 victors followed her and Samantha into the backstage, looking as intimidating as ever. Some were very muscular, while others just looked plain mean, with vicious looks on their faces that gave the impression of "I'll kill you if you cross my path." All of them looked as if they knew what they were doing, and they seemed tattered and worn, like all great trainers should look. And to little Alina, with her new, dainty, and perfectly clean clothing, she definitely stood out. The nervousness she felt on the field started to come back... in fact, she almost preferred being in the arena instead of in the middle of this mean-looking group. There were but two friendly faces in the crowd, and that was Samantha and a boy who looked like all the color had been drained out of him. With pure white hair, pale skin, and crystal blue eyes, he looked innocent, and looked as if he didn't really belong here either. He began to approach the two trainers, obviously knowing at least one of them. Alina was convinced that he was approaching her specifically, and tried to look focused on the next round of battles, despite the fact that her number wouldn't be called until much later. Perhaps her fame was beginning to spread throughout the Fizzy Bubbles land... The boy stopped before the two girls, completely ignoring Alina, and said in a cynical voice “It’s good to see you again this year Samantha.”

Alina tried to hide her disappointment and looked away as the two continued with their conversation. “I’ll make sure to beat you this year!” he continued, Samantha quickly replying, “Hmp, it wont be that easy!” The red-haired trainer glanced over at Samantha, slightly confused. Samantha was in this tournament before?

“Oh! Alina, this is someone I know from last years tournament, his name is Kris." Samantha quickly explained. "Kris, this is my new friend Alina, she’s one to watch out for too, she has just as much potential to win as you and me.”

Alina gave a shy little wave to Kris, who smirked and gave her a thumbs up. “Ah, nice to meet you Alina, I hope to see if you are as good as Samantha, the previous Glacier City Champion, just said you are.”

Champion? Well ****. Unable to hide the new feeling of shock and disbelief that came over Alina, she merely gaped at the smiling Samantha beside her. I suppose now there was more than stage fright for Alina to worry about now...

“OKAY!” shouted the announcer, “SO NOW THAT THE FIRST ROUND IS OVER, THE ADVANCING CHALLENGERS WILL MOVE UP TO THE NEXT OPPONENT ON THE TREE.” Alina turned away from the two trainers and gazed up at the tree... her opponent was... #14. Looking around for her next opponent, she prayed that it wasn't Samantha or Kris, which thankfully it wasn't. Instead, her opponent was a rather depressing looking girl, dressed in all black with jet black hair covering most of her face. "Jesus, she looks like something out of The Grudge..." Alina mumbled to herself as she waited for the announcer to call them up. And, it wasn't long before that irritating voice cried out, “WILL CONTESTANTS 14 AND 15 PLEASE TAKE THE STAGE!”

"That's our cue," Alina muttered before returning to the stage and the booming crowd. It felt easier this time to be in the arena... in fact, she was pretty relaxed, much to her surprise (probably due to the relief she felt for not having to face Kris or Samantha quite yet). The two trainers took their place on each end of the stage as the morbid girl stared down her opponent, which just made Alina want to cry. That girl was just so creepy...

“Battle, Hitmontop!” she suddenly cried, making Alina nearly jump out of her skin. In a flash of red light appeared an equally depressed Pokemon. The Handstand Pokemon, Hitmontop. It heaved a heavy sigh, looking like it didn't want to be there at all. Well, with a trainer like that, who could blame it for being depressed? Then again, most of Alina's Pokemon seemed to be disturbed in some way so... what does that say about Alina? Shaking her head and trying to focus on the battle at hand, Alina quickly thought things over. It couldn't do much if it was paralyzed, and if she remembered correctly, Hitmontop are always male... well well, that sounds like the perfect battle for Ana. Choosing her Pokeball and tossing it up into the air, Alina released the Wool Pokemon, Flaaffy. Ana bah'd as she observed her surroundings, then glanced curiously over at the suicidal-looking Hitmontop before her. Alina quickly chose her moves, and called out to Ana "Use Fatal Attraction first! Thunder Wave, then Thunderbolt!"
"My pedestal was too high for me to climb off of. In fact, that's the reason for the high horse."

    - After learning about some of Samantha’s past and meeting a new rival, Kris, you begin to feel more anxious, hoping that you will not have to battle either of those two. As you sit and wait for your turn to battle, you see both Samantha and Kris go out to battle, and of coarse, both were victorious. You continue to wait, while waiting, you remember that your next opponent is number fourteen. Looking around, you see a girl with the number fourteen held in her hand, you get chills down your back as you see this girl. She looked as if she had just come from a scary movie, dark and morbid; this girl had a creepy vibe to her that you quickly picked up on. Her all black wardrobe, her jet black hair that covered the majority of her face, she seemed to be very depressing indeed. “WILL CONTESTANTS 14 AND 15 PLEASE TAKE THE STAGE!” the announcer shouted, giving the two of you a hand gesture to come out to the stage. Knowing you can’t avoid it, you get up and walk out to the stage, but something was different about this round. As a matter of fact, you could tell, you felt more confident on the stage. Maybe it was the fact that you were getting used to it, or maybe you felt more determined to live up to both Samantha and Kris’s expectations. You weren’t sure, but that wasn’t all that important at the moment, you knew you had to focus or you’d be gone. “BEGIN!” the announcer shouted as he waved both flags, signaling for the battle to begin. “Battle, Hitmontop!” the morbid girl suddenly shouted, throwing a red and white Pokeball into the air, which released light that quickly took the form of the Handstand Pokemon, Hitmontop. Though there was something different about this Hitmontop, it appeared to be just as depressing as its trainer. After contemplating which of the three pokemon you should use for this battle, you decide to go with your Wool Pokemon, Flaaffy. As you release Ana to the battle, she lets out a loud “Baa!” showing that she’s ready for battle. “Hitmontop, use Quick Attack…” your opponent sighed as Hitmontop sadly said, “Top…” right before he quickly struck Ana. The Wool Pokemon let out a cry she emitted a dark light from her wool; Ana was using Fatal Attraction! “Love is nothing but an illusion, the poor fool.” The girl sighed as she mourned for her Hitmontop as if he had died. While Hitmontop stood, unable to move thanks to the attraction and pain caused by Ana’s move, you order your Flaaffy to use Thunderwave on Hitmontop, which successfully hits. “Hitmontop, use Revenge…” your opponent sighed as you command Ana to use Thunderbolt. Ana’s fur collects static as Hitmontop tries to make sense of everything. Suddenly, Ana releases an immense amount of electricity which strikes Hitmontop, causing him to moan with pain. As the attack hits, Hitmontop manages to focus hard enough and fight back, striking Ana with a punch to revenge its fatigue. The battle seemed to be on your side from the start, but who knows what could happen in the battle.

    - After rubbing your sore shoulders from the bumpy landing, you pull out a pink pokeball and throw it, releasing the Pup Pokemon, Poocheyna. Already having your other companion, Medeo, with you, you decided it would be fun to have your canine friend, Hyneo, with the two of you. You watch the two pokemon interact with each other as you rub your sore shoulders. Suddenly, Medeo spots something in the distance with his sharp vision, you struggle to see, but soon enough, you realize that it is civilization. There was a town just ahead of you, so with your two partners by your side, you begin to walk towards the town in the deep, loose snow. You struggle to walk in the snow as it continues to get deeper, getting to knee level. Soon enough, the snow begins to become shallower as you reach the town. Just before the buildings begin, there is a humble wooden sign swinging on a post saying, “Welcome to Snowflake Village, home of the Yache Berry!” After reading the sign, you are approached by a little girl who was accompanied by the Happiness Pokemon, Togetic. “Excuse me sir,” she shyly says as she tugs on your arm, “can you please help me find my mommy? Me and my pokemon, Tina, are lost.” she explained as she looked up at you, eyes full of tears. “If you help me, I can give you a basket of Yache berries from my parents Yache Berry farm. You look hungry.” she offered as a prize for helping her. You look at the girl, not quiet sure what to do, the reward sure did seem appealing to you though. Suddenly, your eyes connect with her Togetic, who seemed to be very wary of you, almost as if she were ready to guard her owner if you happen to attack. With your own pokemon seemly willing to help, it was up to you whether to help the little girl or not.

    - As you return your rather unhappy friend, Banane the Tropius, to his pokeball, you ask the ICIST student, Anthony, in what direction the two of you would be taking the books too. As you ask this question, Anthony turns to you, with a pleased smirk across his face. “Hmp, I’m glad you asked!” he said rather creepily as he pushed up his glasses with his finger, causing a glare to cover them in a white light that blocked his eyes, “We are go to see the almighty professor, Professor Huges!” Anthony shouted, waiting to hear a response from you. After a few moments of silence, the student looks back at you to see no sign of awe on your face. “A-Are you kidding me!?” Anthony shouted in shock as you stood their confused, “Have you never heard of the almighty professor Huges!?” he exclaimed as he waited for an answer, only to see you shake your head no. Anthony then proceeded to go into a fetal position and swirl his finger in the snow while he said, “Are there really people in the world who haven’t heard of my teacher?” he asked himself solemnly. You stand their in silence as a sweat drop slides down your face at the sight of the rather pitiful college student. After a moment of depression, Anthony recovered and explained to Tim a little bit of Prof. Huges and his works. “First of all we are heading to the tower to the left of us,” Anthony said as he pointed to a four story tower, made up of countless red bricks as was the rest of the campus, “so let’s head over there while I explain who Prof. Huges is.” You nod in agreement as Anthony, Slizar, and yourself head towards the tower. “Professor Jeremy Huges, first off, he was born and raised in the town of Snowflake Village, there he grew up to be a Yache Berry farmer, much like many others from that village. After this college opened, Prof. Huges quickly obtained a scholarship, due to his near-perfect grades. He originally majored in Botany, which is the study of plants, so he could improve his farming abilities, but soon he realized the options he had here at ICIST and quickly changed his major to something that struck him as more interesting, Pokemon; Pokemon evoltution to be more specific. He later graduated and quickly made many discoveries about pokemon evolution along side Professor Elm of Newbark Town. Later on, he came back here to ICIST,” Anthony explained happily, “…Hpm, I remember when I was younger, I always looked forward to hearing his latest discovery on the T.V.” he finished as he stopped in his tracks. “Oh, we’re here!” he exclaimed, obviously loosing track of where they were. The red brick building towered over the two of them, at the entrance stood a campus guard, wearing a navy blue police uniform as most do throughout the world. “Identity please.” he commanded, as he held out his hand as if to say stop. While Anthony was able to show his identity, you, not being a student of the campus, could not. You explain to the guard that you were just visiting the campus. “If you are a guest, you cannot pass without defeating a guard.” The guard replied as he pulled out a pokeball from his belt. “Go, Growlithe!” he commanded as the ball released a red and black pup that appeared to be very obedient. “The choice is yours, leave, or battle.”

    - As the Snorunt continued to fight vigorously, you command your pokemon to fight back the best that they could. Mr. Pipes continues to gulp down the super spicy liquid that caused fiery breath, spraying a couple of Snorunt left and right. While at the same time, Rocky Razor Winded other Snorunt in the hopes of creating a decent path to use for escape purposes. Alas, the Snorunt still had energy to fight. Being frustrated, you throw a tantrum, “I wanted a vacation!” you shout as the Snorunt begin to fight back harder, Headbutting and Biting as much as they could. Rocky stood still, collecting energy from the hits using Bide; the Snorunt foolishly continued to Headbutt and Bite her, even an occasional Icy Wind was shot at her. The poor plant pokemon struggled to keep fighting, and eventually, she collected enough energy. Rocky began to glow brightly as the energy build-up unleashed, it continued to grow, surrounding a good fourteen feet all around. The blinding energy exploded, causing extreme damage to all the Snorunt caught in the blast. Meanwhile, Mr. Pipes’ fiery burps continued to strike the Snorunt until he couldn’t summon any more from his stomach. The little fire duck then went on to Will-o-Wisping the icy pokemon, burning away their remaining energy. Looking at the aftermath, you see unconscious Snorunt all around you, not a single one was still standing. All that remain are a weakened Rocky, Mr. Pipes, and yourself. (Level up for Rocky and Mr. Pipes) The three of you regroup, cheering for your success, but the reunion doesn’t last long as you hear a faint sound of a human voice. “Help!” shouted the voice. You couldn’t tell where exactly it was coming from aside from that is was down. You look for a pathway and see a steep slope leading further underground.

On a small, snowy island in the East Sea quarter of the Arctic Ocean, Ben, Medeo, and Hyneo, made their way towards the small settlement they had glimpsed in the distance. Deep, loose snow blanketed the area, and the three friends found the trek to be quite an arduous struggle indeed. Even the nimble-footed Medeo, the most naturally agile of the threesome, had to painstakingly trudge through knee-deep drifts. As they reached the outskirts of the tiny town, they discovered that the snow didn’t lay as thick, and the trio let out a grateful cheer that they had finally made it. Significantly winded, Ben signaled for a brief rest and immediately doubled over with his hands on his knees. Medeo took deep, gulping breaths, while Hyneo, pink tongue lolling in-and-out rapidly, panted heavily from the exertion.

After a short break, Ben, Medeo, and Hyneo set off at a trot for the closest buildings. As they reached the town's entrance, they spied a rustic, wooden sign with the words, “Welcome to Snowflake Village, home of the Yache Berry!” written on it in dark print. Ben read the sign out loud to the two Pokemon with him and the three shared a look of surprise at the fact that they had found a place that was famous for growing berries in such a climate. Suddenly, an abrupt tug on Ben’s sleeve caught his attention.

“Excuse me sir,” a shy voice said. Ben looked down and spied a young girl accompanied by a Togetic. The sight of the ultra-rare Happiness Pokemon here, and with a small girl no less, made Ben’s grey-green eyes grow wide in astonishment. “Can you please help me find my mommy? Me and my Pokemon, Tina, are lost,” she explained. Ben could tell that she was on the verge of crying, and felt sorry for her and didn’t blame her. What kid her age wouldn’t be afraid in this situation? It was only natural. He imagined that the girl’s mother must be similarly upset at the loss of her child, probably even searching for her daughter right now.

An image of his own parents suddenly flashed in his mind. How long had it been since he’d last seen them? Years. The last time he could remember was when he ran away from home. He wondered if his own parents were looking for him, or if, after all that time, they had given up on trying to find him. He tried to shake the image from his mind. It was all so long ago and so much had happened since then. Maybe one day, when all this was over, he would return home…

Turning his thoughts back to the young girl, Ben wondered again how she had gotten separated from her mother. “If you help me, I can give you a basket of Yache Berries from my parents’ Yache Berry farm,” the lass suddenly remarked, causing Ben to bolt in shock that the girl would give them such a generous gift. “You look hungry,” she noted. As if to confirm her suspicions, Medeo’s stomach let out a pitiful whimper, while Hyneo hungrily licked her lips.

Ben noticed a hesitant look creep across Tina’s face. “Don’t be scared. I’m Ben, and this is Medeo and Hyneo,” he explained, indicating the named Pokemon as he introduced himself and his companions. “We’ll help you find your mother,” he assured the lass, then glanced at Medeo and Hyneo. Food would be welcome, but he needed to prove to the girl and her Togetic that they could be trusted. “And we’ll do it for free. It was nice of you to offer, but you can keep your berries. Right, mates?” In response, Medeo and Hyneo nodded reluctantly. As his own stomach gurgled, Ben grinned. “I thought so.”

Dragging a hand through his short, brown hair, Ben thought hard to come up with a plan. After a moment of contemplation, he spoke. “Medeo, try to use your FORESIGHT to help us identify her mother’s location,” Medeo nodded and Ben continued, “And Hyneo, you try to pick up her scent with your nose. There might still be a trace of the mother’s smell on the girl’s clothes.” The Poochyena let out a happy bark and Ben grinned again. “Great! But we may still need a little more help.” He quickly withdrew a half-teal, half-white Pokeball from the brown canvas messenger bag slung over his shoulder. Holding the celebratory capture capsule out at arm’s length, he pressed the round trigger switch and a shower of confetti appeared, followed by the number 2009, and a tiny Taillow.

Released from her makeshift prison, the Taillow Marteo took a few, short hop-steps, swiveled her head around to preen her feathers, and, satisfied with her appearance, swiftly alighted on Ben’s shoulder. Ben regarded the Tiny Swallow Pokemon perched inches from his face and remarked, “Marteo, this girl is lost, and needs our help to find her mother. Do you think you can search from the air, while we search from the ground?” The little Taillow merrily chirruped in agreement. “Thanks, mate!” Ben replied. Turning to the lass he said, “Now, maybe you can help us retrace your steps. Can you tell us where you last saw your mother and what she looks like?”

As he trudged through the snow, Tyson had covered most of his head in his sweater to guard himself from the devastatingly cold weather. Levitating beside him Palladium gave a monotonic chuckle, his metallic self unaffected by weather. "You try being made of flesh and blood. Speaking of which, I think my fingers are freezing."

"Meta." Well, Master Tyson, I believe it would be a good idea to find that cave you've been looking for then.

"Palladium, I know that, but I don't know exactly where it is, I just know its on this island. Don't you have some psychic powers to locate the Cave."

"Tang." Sorry sir, I can only track people or pokemon's minds, and even then I'm limited. What you need is someone with a tracker's nose.

    "Well, we'll just look then."

They headed off, the Monster Cave, their target.

    What will you do?
Alina watched her Ana get thrown back by the Quick Attack from her opponent. The Flaaffy hopped up, furious from being caught off guard like that in the beginning of the battle, and released the dark pheromone, Fatal Attraction. The gothic girl sighed, “Love is nothing but an illusion, the poor fool.” She looked as if she had already lost the battle when it had barely even started. "If she keeps acting like that, perhaps this will be an easy win as well," Alina mumbled to herself, slightly amused at how over-dramatic her opponent actually was. The Hitmontop could barely move, due to his temporary crush on Ana, so the Flaaffy took advantage of the situation and launched a Thunder Wave to further cripple it. As Ana prepared to launch another, yet much more powerful, electric move, the handstand Pokemon managed to get itself together, concentrating hard enough to get Revenge on the Flaaffy with a swift kick to the stomach. Letting out a cry of pain and rage, Ana released her own attack at that very moment, sending the Hitmontop stumbling back in pain. So far, Alina seemed to have the advantage, with the Hitmontop both paralyzed and infatuated. However, Ana had taken some heavy damage herself... This battle could indeed prove to be a bit tricky, despite their advantage. Especially since the paralysis gave her opponent a powerful weapon: Revenge. Although Alina felt rather content, Ana was furious that things weren't going as planned. Sparks flew from her fur as she dared that Hitmontop to try a stunt like that again.

"Ana!" called out Alina, trying to get her Flaaffy's attention. Ana looked over her shoulder, giving Alina the nastiest 'what do you want' look she had ever seen. Slightly taken aback by the nasty look she received, Alina ordered, "Use Reflect, just in case. Charge up and use another Thunderbolt."
"My pedestal was too high for me to climb off of. In fact, that's the reason for the high horse."

    What will you do?

After Karmas asked where he and Slizar had to go, Anthony turned towards him and told Karmas where he had to go.

When he mentioned that they were going to meet Professor Hughes, Karmas gave him a blank look; neither he nor Slizar had ever heard of Professor Hughes. Hearing this the student proceeded to curl up into a fetal position and sulk about someone not knowing who Professor Hughes was, causing Karmas to sweat drop and giving Slizar the urge to whack him a good one upside the head. After his brief moment of depression Anthony was back onto his feet and started to explain a bit about Prof. Hughes and his work while they walked over to a brick tower.

“Professor Jeremy Huges, first off, he was born and raised in the town of Snowflake Village, there he grew up to be a Yache Berry farmer, much like many others from that village. After this college opened, Prof. Huges quickly obtained a scholarship, due to his near-perfect grades. As soon as he finished the ICIST student stopped in his tracks, they had arrived at the tower. Standing in front of the tower was a security guard, dressed in blue.

“Identity please.” he commanded, as he held out his hand as if to say stop.

Anthony produced ID quickly but Karmas was unable to, not being a student and all.

"Excuse me sir," said Karmas, "I don't actually go here, I'm just a visitor."

“If you are a guest, you cannot pass without defeating a guard.” The guard replied as he pulled out a pokeball from his belt.

“Go, Growlithe!” he commanded as the ball released a red and black pup that appeared to be very obedient. “The choice is yours, leave, or battle.”

At the offer of a battle Slizar's face lit up. She looked at her trainer, and Karmas saw that he wasn't going to be allowed to leave.

"Well then, I accept your offer," said Karmas, motioning for Slizar to put down the books and get ready to battle. "Slizar start off the battle with a Quick Attack and then use Bubblebeam followed off with a Metronome!"

    - With the battle starting off on a positive note, for you at least, you feel relieved and begin to believe that this battle could easily be your win if you play your cards right. Meanwhile, the flustered Ana grew frustrated knowing that the plan didn’t work as well as the two of you would have hoped. While you were definitely were the trainer on top in this battle, Ana did take an extremely hard hit from the infatuated Hitmontop. “Ana!” you call out to the Wool Pokemon, who in return gives you the nastiest “what do you want!?” face you have ever seen, “Use Reflect, just in case. Charge up and use another Thunderbolt." you command as Ana furiously prepares to strike the opposing Hitmontop. Across the stage, the over dramatic gothic girl rambled on about how depressing life was. “Life has no meaning… Why do we even bother to exist…” she eventually begins to mumble this to herself, you stare at her, almost on the verge of laughing. “Hitmontop, use Rolling Kick, then Focus Energy, and if you are still able to fight after that use Gyro Ball…” she orders depressingly. After both parties receiving orders, Ana took the initiative and began by using the light around her to build a barrier called Reflect that defended her from physical attacks, rendering them less powerful. However, the poor Hitmontop was not able to attack due to the immobility of paralysis left from Ana’s Thunder Wave attack, the Handstand Pokemon then shivered from the pain that Fatal Attraction left. Ana then began to store electricity in her fur, causing little sparks to emit from her fur, she was Charging energy for a powerful electric attack. Hitmontop was struggling, but was able to run up to Ana and spin, constantly kicking her in the face with his powerful legs. The Hitmontop then began to feel more energy being sucked from him due to Fatal Attraction, yet again. The furious pink pokemon then shouted as she released an extremely powerful Thunderbolt thanks to the boost from Charge. The strong electricity struck Hitmontop who was unable to attack due to him being distracted by Ana’s beauty. The fighting type pokemon had accumulated much pain, but was still able to stand and fight; Ana had taken quite a few blows to the face, but was still in okay condition, at least in better condition than Hitmontop.

    - After thinking about your own parents and if they were looking for you, you decide it wouldn’t hurt to help the young lass and her Togetic, Tina, find her mother. You decline her generous offer of Yache berries from her parents’ farm and your pokemon reluctantly agree to help for free. After you introduce yourself and your pokemon, the little girl gives you an introduction of her own. “My name is Sue,” she said, excited that you would help her, “and this is my best friend, Tina, as you already know.” Using Medeo’s Foresight and Hyneo’s sharp sense of smell, you decide to get some air support from Marteo, the Taillow. Having formed your own search party you turn to Sue thinking it could help to get a description of her mother. “Now, maybe you can help us retrace your steps. Can you tell us where you last saw your mother and what she looks like?” you ask, waiting while she thinks. “My mommy is tall, and she has brown hair…” Sue says as she continues to think of how to describe her, “and Mommy is wearing a green dress with a tan apron on top and she was holding a Yache Berry basket last time I saw her.” Sue concluded, not really knowing what else to say. Using the information that you had, you begun the search for Sue’s mommy. The four of you struggle to pass through busy streets while Marteo smoothly coasted through the sky, going as slow as possible so she would not loose you. After encountering a few women, most of whom were rather rude and shoved passed you in the crowded streets, you see a woman up ahead. Her hair was a light brown and she was of slightly above average height, she had a rather nice figure and held a basket of barriers at her side; her clothing description also matched Sue’s. The woman had a worried expression across her face and her eyes were blood shot, most likely from tears. “Mommy!” Sue shouted as she ran to the woman, who in return shouted, “Sue!” as the two embraced each other in a hug. “Sue, please don’t ever wonder off from me again, I thought I’d lost you!” she said as she laughed in relief. You walk up to the happily reunited mother and daughter when Sue leapt out of her mothers arm and said “Mommy, this is Ben, he helped me find you!” The mother walked up to you and thanked you kindly for returning her daughter to her. “Please, won’t you come home with us, I’ll make you and your pokemon a nice home cooked meal to show my gratitude.”

    - Being anxious to battle, Slizar’s face lit up the moment you motioned for her to set down the books and get ready for a battle. “I’m sorry about the guard, but its campus rules...” Anthony said as he sighed on the sidelines, “Just be careful, you have a type disadvantage against that Growlithe.” he finished as you command the metal bug to begin the battle with Quick Attack. Slizar quickly dashed at the canine pokemon before the guard could give orders. The collision pushed the Growlithe down to the floor, but it quickly countered as the guard yelled, “Use Bite!” Slizar groaned as the Growlithe lunged towards the Pincer Pokemon, digging its sharp teeth successfully into her large red claw. “Now use Bubblebeam!” you shouted while the fire type pokemon still had its teeth sunken into Slizar’s claw. The Scizor opened her other claw and aimed at the Growlithe, shooting the wet bubbles at a point blank range causing Growlithe to release its grip and whimper in pain of the moisture. “Snap out of it Growlithe, use Ember!” the guard shouted as the Growlithe shook its fur dry. “Slizar, use Metronome!” you shouted as the canine pokemon then lunged towards Slizar. As Growlithe‘s Ember attack struck Slizar, leaving a mild BURN, Slizar’s Metronome began to make the bug pokemon melt a tad, only to harden stronger than her body was before. It became obvious to you that her Metronome turned into Acid Armor. The two pokemon focus on each other viciously as they wait for orders, the guard stands strong with his Growlithe, waiting for the opportunity to strike. You on the other hand, want to finish the battle soon to head into the building just behind the guard and his loyal Canine Pokemon.

    Monster Cave

Psychopath- As you stumble and struggle walking through the snow, your metallic friend, Palladium, chuckles at your clumsy movements. While Palladium mocks you, you complain to the Iron Claw Pokemon about the weather as you search for the ominous cave often called Monster Cave, in the hopes of finding an exciting experience within the extreme conditions of this island. You continue to walk through the deep snow when suddenly; you see a rather large silhouette in the distance. Unable to make out the shadowy figure through the thick snow, you decide to get closer in the attempts of discovering what it could be. Then, when you do decide to get closer, a large, menacing, roar filled the air, sending chills through your body. The creature began to slowly move away from you, but you then realized that the creature was heading into Monster Cave after you noticed the humongous mountain, which was actually the cave. The shadowy figure then disappeared into the cave without a trace, having located your destination; you slowly make your way to the cave. As you approach said cave, you stare up in awe of the intimidating cave, the entrance covered with dangerously sharp stalagmites and stalactites, you could hear the sounds of creatures moaning from inside. You take a deep breath as you head into the darkness, waiting to see what would come your way. Suddenly, you hear the high pitch Screeches of the Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat that hung from the ceiling, the screams and screeches distorted your balance, even causing your vision to blur a tad. It appeared as though the Bat Pokemon were not happy to see intruders in their territory; luckily Palladium wasn’t affected by their attacks. The pokemon began to descend, preparing to feast on your body, still being affected by their screeches; you had enough sense to know that you needed to fend them off.

Slizar's face lit up as she set down the books she had been carrying. Starting off the battle Slizar shot forward with her Quick Attack and slammed into Growlithe. The attack sent the pup to the ground, but it quickly got back up and retaliated with a Bite, latching onto the Scizor's claw. Slizar opened her other claw and shot out a Beam of Bubbles at Growlithe, point blank. This caused the fire type to let go of the bug/steel type's claw. But after a quick order, Growlithe opened its mouth and shot out an Ember, the resulting fireball leaving Slizar with a burn. She held both of her laws out in front of her and Slizar began to sway from side to side, executing her Metronome. This caused her skin to slightly melt, indicating that Slizar had used Acid Armour. After their series of attacks the two pokemon glared at each other, awaiting their next orders.

"Slizar use Mega Punch followed up with a Bubblebeam and Swift!" ordered Karmas.

Slizar nodded before she started her next attack.

    What will you do?
In Snowflake Village on the arctic archipelago Glacier Island, the trainer Ben Hale agreed to help the lost lass find her mother using the special talents of his team. The little girl beamed back at the teenager and introduced as Sue before going on to describe her mother.

“My mommy is tall, and she has brown hair…” The girl began, and Ben waited patiently as the girl thought hard to come up with a good description. “And, Mommy is wearing a green dress with a tan apron on top, and she was holding a Yache Berry basket last time I saw her.” Ben realized it wasn’t a lot to go on, but he also knew that the young girl had done the best she could. Grinning, Ben assured her once again that they would find her missing mother.

Ben quickly double-checked with Medeo, Hyneo, and Marteo to be certain they were clear on the woman’s description and understood their roles in the search party. The three Pokemon signaled their understanding and the group set off at a pace that would make it easy for Sue and Tina to keep up. Marteo soared high above the village on the look out for any woman who fit Sue’s description, while Ben, Medeo, Hyneo, Sue, and Tina slowly made their way through the burgh’s crowded streets, careful to scan the faces of every lady they passed. Whenever the search party meet a rude one who just pushed past, Ben would put on a determined expression and offer encouragement to the others in an effort to keep their spirits high. Marteo continued her aerial reconnaissance of the city, and Ben periodically glanced up at her wondering if she was having better luck, but the Tiny Swallow Pokemon simply shook her head from side-to-side, and the group pressed on.

    * * *

At long last the searchers spied a woman in the midst of the crowd who met Sue’s description. Slightly above average in height, the attractive lady wore a green dress with a tan apron over it and carried a basket of Yache berries at her side. The woman’s tear-stained face was the picture of anxiety, and Ben wondered if she was indeed Sue’s mother when all of sudden, Sue raced toward the woman, calling “Mommy!”

    “Sue!”

Ben felt the relief in the woman’s voice as she called her daughter’s name and rushed to embrace her. Two delicate arms wrapped surprisingly tightly around the little girl, as the happy mother lovingly chastised her never to wander off again.

Ben watched the mother and daughter reunion and was glad that he and his team had been able to help. Once again his thoughts momentarily drifted to his own mother far away in Hoenn as he couldn’t help but think that she would have probably reacted the same way. Lost in his thought, Ben was brought back to reality when Marteo suddenly swooped down from the sky and alighted on his right shoulder. The teenage trainer complimented the tiny swallow on her hard work, then turned to Medeo and Hyneo and thanked them for their efforts in helping find Sue’s mother. Having accomplished their mission successfully, Ben declared that they should probably be getting on their way.

As the foursome approached the joyful pair to say their good-byes, Sue broke free from her mother’s embrace and exclaimed, “Mommy, this is Ben, he helped me find you!”

The little girl’s mother walked over to Ben and thanked him kindly for returning her daughter. Blushing at the woman’s remark, Ben replied that it was nothing really and that he was just happy that he and his Pokemon had been able to help, but the grateful woman continued, “Please, won’t you come home with us? I’ll make you and your Pokemon a nice home cooked meal to show my gratitude.”

At the woman’s statement, four pairs of eyes of grew wide with excitement, four stomachs rumbled expectantly, and four heads eagerly nodded their consent…

    What will you do?

Short and sweet and oh my goodness I'm sorry it took so long.

Finally, a happy smile! Paul leaned forward, maintained his balance and slid to the opposite side of the cave, carefully maneuvering around the many passed-out bodies of the snorunts his two friends had just defeated. Trying to turn on a dime and face his pokémon, Paul slipped and landed on his tailbone before holding out his arms to his unimpressed comrades.

“Come on, you guys,” he said to them, shivering slightly due to the already cold environment and the icy ground he sat on. “Let’s find a way out and then have the vacation we wanted, yeah?”

Mr. Pipes quacked and cheered at the idea and flopped down to slide towards his trainer while Rocky buried her face in her hands, exasperated and annoyed. The cold had really gotten to her at this point, and she was sure that some of the surface area on her leaf had gotten frostbite, along with her long nose. Without enthusiasm she moped towards Paul before slipping and falling onto her pointy face.

Tired, they did sit for a moment, and they all jumped simultaneously, startled by the faint cry of “Help!” that echoed from deeper into the cave. Rocky and Mr. Pipes then collapsed from exhaustion and were returned to their PokéBalls.

“Hey, hey, hey, Seb, gimme some help here,” Paul said, cracking open the ball that held his slowpoke who rolled over contentedly on the ice, protected by his thick layer of blubber. “I heard someone say something, and I also cracked my *ss open, help me out, wont’cha, buddy boy?” Sebastien nodded, yawned and let Paul climb up onto his back, then, full of energy, slowly made his way towards the pleading voice that beckoned them.

    - Wanting nothing more than to escape and try to find some relaxation on this snowy island, your conscience tells you that you must respond to the cries of help coming from deeper and lower within the cave. Right as you here the pleas for help, Rocky and Mr. Pipes faint from exhaustion; it was obvious that those Snorunt were too much for them to handle. With your two pokemon too tired to go on, you return them to their pokeballs for the very much deserved rest. You pull out another pokemon, which reveals a pink, rather slow, pokemon, Slowpoke. Due to your recent slip, you injured your buttocks, which leads you to command Sebastian the Slowpoke to carry you while he travels further within the cave to reach the endangered humans. So with a big yawn, Seb slowly began to travel towards the direction where the cries for help came from. While you travel, the cold wind chills the two of you right down to the core causing goose bumps and shivers to affect your body. The gust of wind suddenly became much stronger, so strong that Seb was struggling to keep his feet planted on the frozen floor, though the wind continued to become stronger still. Both of you try to resist the winds strengths from pushing you backwards, you thought to yourself how such a strong breeze was able to form inside of a cave when suddenly, the two of you are lifted from the icy ground. While being tossed around in the wind like a rag doll, you hold on to your beloved Seb for dear life as a huge ice rock that was also caught in the wind came flying in your direction. The only thing you could think as the frozen boulder came hurdling your way was “**** my life.” Suddenly, everything went dark. What seemed like seconds later, you came to, barely able to see anything because your vision was still blurred, trying to make sense of everything. Above you, you see a gold and dark brown object hovering just over you, you also can hear someone saying “He’s woken up! Someone, get some tea ready! Now!” As your vision came to, you were able to recognize the hovering shape to be a woman. Her hair was golden blond, all curly and short, her skin was a smooth chocolate-like color, and her brown eyes looked warm and full of concern. She seemed to be somewhat young, about 24, and her voice was as warm as her eyes. “Hello, hello! Please tell me what your name is, we found you and a Slowpoke being tosses around in a gust of wind. How do you feel?”

    - After reuniting Sue’s mother with her daughter and her daughter’s Togetic, Tina, she decides to show her gratitude with a home cooked meal for you and your pokemon. With all four of your stomach’s rumbling, you graciously accept her offer and you all head toward Sue’s home with her mother leading the way. As you all walk, you can’t help but feel warmth inside you for reuniting the mother and daughter, despite the awfully cold weather. “By the way, my name is Carol,” Sue’s mother says in a warm, soft voice, “I can’t thank you enough for keeping my daughter safe. This village isn’t as safe as it used to be… ever since THEY came.” Carol said, facing a forest that you could barely manage to see from the town, what with the snowy weather and the fact that it was so far away. “THEY showed up about a month ago, no one knows exactly what THEY are, but THEY have been stealing berries from crops and breaking into the village shops, there’s even been a kidnapping. I thought Sue was going to be the second kidnapping victim, I thought I’d loose my baby girl. I’m so glad she is safe.” She concluded as her eyes began to swell with tears. Before you knew it, you were at the outskirts of town, heading onto a road that was barely visible thanks to the snow. “Home is at the end of the trail!” Sue shouted, running while she playfully tried to catch Tina who was flying just above Sue’s reach. “That’s right honey.” Carol said as she regained her cheerful composure wiped the tears out of her eyes. After walking for another 15 min, you finally arrived at what looked like a snowy ranch; there was a peaceful cottage lit up by the lights inside. Smoke danced out of the chimney, and beyond the cottage was a huge field of yatche berries, going on for at least three acres, you stared at the field of berries, mouth wide open in amazement. “Now lets get inside and warm up while I make you all Yache Stew.” Carol said as she led everyone inside the cabin. Inside, before you noticed anything else, you saw a pedestal with a pillow on top and a glass case surrounding what appeared to be an egg inside. As you gazed at the egg, Tina seemed to become very protective, defending the egg from you while sending a glare your way and letting out a low growl as if to say "Stay away!"

    - Without wasting a moment, Slizar pounced at the fiery pup with a swift and powerful Mega Punch which sent Growlithe flying into its trainer, causing it and the guard to fall to the floor. The guard cradled his pokemon as it whimpered from the blow it suffered on its torso, though it quickly shook off the injury and leapt from the guard’s arms and let loose a powerful fiery belch also known as Flamethrower. Slizar tried to dodge, but her left leg and left claw were caught in the attack, making her scream in agony before rolling around in the snow to extinguish the flames. After the flames disappeared, a burn was left on the metallic bug, making her wince in pain. She then opened her uninjured claw and shot out hundreds of speedy bubbles which the Growlithe unsuccessfully outran, causing great pain to the fire type canine. With both pokemon becoming more vicious after every attack, Growlithe proceeded to charge at Slizar with a Bite attack which she dodged thanks to the bugs swift speed, though the burn did cause Slizar to wince again from the seering pain. Growlithe became frustrated at the missed attack, giving the two of you the perfect opportunity to hit the distracted dog with a close-up Swift attack. The stars pounded the poor pup into the snowy ground, not letting up even slightly until Growlithe let out a loud yelp and became immobile, after a closer inspection, both you and the guard see that the Growlithe has fainted, Slizar won! (Lv. Up for Slizor) The guard rushed to the pup, congratulating Growlithe on its courage. “Well then, I guess you are worthy enough to pass… here.” The guard said as he handed you a pass. “That pass will allow you access to the campus buildings whenever you wish.” Without another word, the guard left you and Anthony at the entrance to the professors building. “That was a great battle Karmas, I have a Rawst Berry here that will cure Slizar of her burns.” Anthony said as he approached you holding out a green strawberry-like berry for you to give to Slizar. “Now let’s get inside and get those books to Professor Huges, he’s up on the third floor!” Anthony said as he began to pick up some of the books, and suggesting for you and Slazor to help carry some of them. The three of you make your way up the flights of stairs until you reach a door that read Prof. Huges Laboratory. Suddenly you hear a computer-like voice that says “Halt, answer which Pokemon the following passage describes to enter Professor Huges’ lab.”:

This pokemon lives in cold water. It will leave the water to search for food when it gets cold outside.

Oh the weather outside was frightful, but the fire inside was delightful. The fire inside being that warm feeling people get in their heart when they know they've done something nice for someone else. It just so happens that feeling was the very same feeling the trainer Ben Hale had in his heart right now. Only moments ago the boy and his Pokemon team had helped reunite the lost lass Sue with her worried mother Carol.

The feeling from Ben’s Good Samaritan deed was so strong that he hardly even noticed the cold, wintry conditions around him, or that the snow had once again started to slowly fall. A warm meal awaited Ben and his companions at Sue’s farmhouse on the outskirts of town, courtesy of Carol, and the four friends willingly accompanied mother and daughter down the streets of Glacier Island’s Snowflake Village. Ben was so hungry he could practically taste the food already. His stomach rumbled noisily at the thought of some good old fashioned home-cooking, and he licked his lips in eager anticipation.

As the group trudged on, Carol talked briefly about life in the tiny town. “I can’t thank you enough for keeping my daughter safe. This village isn’t as safe as it used to be… ever since THEY came.” The woman remarked gravely, staring off at something in the distance. Shielding his eyes from the steadily falling flakes, Ben thought he could barely make out the rough outline of a forest at the horizon’s edge.

THEY showed up about a month ago, no one knows exactly what THEY are, but THEY have been stealing berries from crops and breaking into the village shops, there’s even been a kidnapping,” Carol continued, as a worried look passed between Ben and his team. “I thought Sue was going to be the second kidnapping victim, I thought I’d lose my baby girl.”

Ben could tell that woman was beginning to get emotional again. Who could blame her though? Apparently Snowflake Village was much more dangerous than the town’s name would lead a person to believe. He reasoned that everyone must be feeling the same way right now. Suddenly, Carol turned to face the boy and his team, her eyes filled with tears, remarking, “I’m so glad she is safe.”

“Me too.” Ben replied quietly, putting on a somber expression as his thoughts drifted to the poor, unfortunate kidnapped child - scared, all alone, and maybe in great danger. “It sounds like there are a lot of problems around here right now.”

For the rest of the journey, Ben was silent, wondering if there was anything he could do to help the townsfolk and the abducted child. He wondered if anyone had tried to save her. If not, perhaps it wasn’t too late to attempt a rescue. Dragging a hand through his short brown hair, the boy thought hard to come up with a plan. Not wanting to put the villagers at risk, he knew he would have to rely on himself and his Pokemon team. Momentarily lost in thought, Ben only realized they nearing their destination when Sue’s sudden exclamation snapped him back to reality.

“Home is at the end of the trail!” the girl exclaimed happily, scampering after Tina in the direction of a cozy little cottage. The smoke billowing from the chimney and the soft light coming from the windows were a very welcome sight to Ben and his comrades after their chilly hike.

    * * *

Once they were all inside the quaint cabin, it didn’t take long for Ben, Medeo, Marteo, and Hyneo to warm up. The foursome could each feel as their blood - temporarily frozen in their veins - decided to once again make the trip to the farthest reaches of their bodies. No sooner had Ben recovered feeling in his extremities then he spied a curious sight and rushed over to check it out. A pedestal with a glass dome covering it was nearby, a Pokemon egg encased within. As Ben moved in for a closer inspection, Tina suddenly let out a low growl and sent him a warning look, causing the boy to quickly put his hands in surrender take a few hesitant steps backward.

For the second time that day, Ben had done something to anger Sue’s Togetic Tina. “Sorry,” he replied sheepishly, retreating a bit farther. “It’s a beautiful egg and I was just curious. I meant no disrespect.” He reasoned that the egg probably belonged to one of Tina’s offspring, and the Happiness Pokemon only wanted to protect it. With everyone in Snowflake Village on high alert, Ben knew the townspeople and their Pokemon partners would naturally be more leery of newcomers, tourists, and visitors. Maybe the Pokemon would trust him when she saw that he only wanted to help, Even if she didn’t though, Togepi were extremely rare Pokemon and Ben sincerely hoped he would get the chance to see one hatch. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime treat he knew he would never forget.

Deciding that now was as good a time as any to ask Sue’s mother if there was anything he could do help out around the town, Ben turned to the woman and spoke. “Mrs. … uh … Carol,” he began, feeling slightly awkward about addressing an adult woman by her first name. But his mind was made up and he continued. “On the way here, you mentioned that a child had been kidnapped and that things were stolen from town. Could you tell me more about what happened or if anyone ever found the missing child? It sounds like Snowflake Village is in trouble, and I want to help out. I’m going to need to borrow a few things, but think I have a plan that just might work.”

Paul was happy sitting atop his slowpoke for the most part. Though the ride was slow and bumpy, the thought of escaping this cave was enough to keep Paul’s spirits high, and as a result he began to hum and play with Sebastien’s ears. The slowpoke opened his mouth and attempted a gap-toothed grin as the two followed the direction of the noise that had beckoned them.

Eventually the two had broken out into a small chorus of happy, if out of tune singing, and managed to keep it going even as the bitter cold chilled their extremities and core alike. The wind that picked up soon after managed to stop the song. The beckoning voice had led them to a slippery wind tunnel, which definitely will add to the poor review that Paul will give once, if ever, he gets off of this resort island. Sebastien’s slow but steady pace also stopped and turned into erratic movement that consisted mostly of trying to keep his feet on the ground. As Sebastien struggled to keep his footing, Paul likewise was trying to keep seated, and gripped his arms around the slowpoke’s neck while burying his now frostbitten face into the back of Sebastien’s head. It was no use. A few more moments of trying to trudge forward in this chilly abode simply brought them closer to a gigantic slab of ice that was being hurled towards them by the subzero gale. Thankfully, when the slab hit them, the pain was subdued by unconsciousness and the two spent a good amount of time blacked out.

Every blackout ends eventually as someone at the power plant finds out what the problem is, and electricity is restored. Paul’s electricity restored itself a little more slowly than it could have, and when he woke up he did so in a daze. When he opened his eyes he found that he couldn’t see clearly, and blinked until his vision cleared. His vision didn’t seem to clear as much as it could have, though, since his glasses were somewhere other than his face. His eyes widened when he heard some shouting, however, and he managed to make out the slightly blurry image of a woman’s face. With this he smiled, and when she mentioned tea he muttered to her, “Tea? Nah, lady, I need a doob.” She then inquired about how he was feeling, to which he replied, “I’m feeling pretty good, babe, pretty good.” He smiled at her and slowly brought up his hand as if to push his glasses up his nose, even though they weren’t there. “I would like to know how my pal Sebastien’s doing, if you wanna tell me, that is.” He smiled at her and tried to stretch, but found out that his whole body was aching. It had been a long day.

Dude, I'm so sorry for the lateness. I desperately needed that hiatus and I've got things back on track now. So, if I'm still in the group, shall we continue?

“Life has no meaning… Why do we even bother to exist…” the gothic girl rambled on. With the battle seemingly going Alina's way, the young trainer was beginning to feel more comfortable with the battle and the odd opponent she was facing. Indeed, she couldn't help but smile and wonder why this girl was battling in the first place, if life was so meaningless. As she snickered to herself, Ana the Flaaffy set up a glowing shield to defend herself while static began to charge in her wool. Meanwhile little-miss-morbid sighed, and ordered "Hitmontop, use Rolling Kick, then Focus Energy, and if you are still able to fight after that use Gyro Ball..."

It was almost as if she didn't care whether she won or lost.. as if she saw no gain in winning or losing. Yes, indeed, this could be a very easy battle since the opponent seemed like she didn't care about winning at all. Alina, on the other hand, saw this as a very important step in raising her reputation in the world. If she won this tournament, that surely would be quite a feat for a new trainer such as herself... however, there was still Samantha in her way of achieving that goal. Alina shook her head and began to focus again on the battle. It was important she win this round, after all.

Although Ana took a defensive approach this time, it seemed to be almost a waste. The Hitmontop continued to dreamily stare at Ana, unable to carry through his trainer's orders due to the paralysis and giving Ana plenty of time to charge up for the most powerful Thunderbolt she could muster. The Fatal Attraction was beginning to take its toll on the poor Hitmontop as he shuddered from the poison-like side effects of the move. He was quite conflicted, due to his infatuation with Ana, but he still managed to rush up to Ana in a spinning attack, his Rolling Kick repeatedly smacking her in the face. However, the handstand Pokemon's attack seemed to be slightly weaker than it could have been to Alina, as the Fatal Attraction took its toll yet again. None the less, it was still a strong attack and enough to push Ana over the edge. Letting out a cry, she released all the stored energy she had in her wool to attack with the most impressive Thunderbolt Alina had ever seen. Stumbling back in pain, the Hitmontop could do nothing but stare in awe and confusion at the pink sheep before him as she gave him a nasty glare. How dare he strike her in such a way before she was ready to attack?

Sparks were flying from a furious sheep after this round and the fighting type looked very beaten and worn, but somehow was still able to stand. Alina had to commend the Pokemon's determination and capabilities. She doubted most Pokemon could barely even move with both a Fatal Attraction and a Thunder Wave in effect. Both Ana and Alina could sense that this battle was coming to a close, and both were eager to deliver the final blows. Alina called out, "Okay, Ana, I want you to use a Cotton Spore, and Charge up again. I want to see a Thunderbolt just as impressive as the last one!"
"My pedestal was too high for me to climb off of. In fact, that's the reason for the high horse."

(Hint: It is a pokedex entry)

Not wasting any time, Slizar jumps at Growlithe, her claw glowing. The Mega Punch collided with the fire pup and sent it flying into its trainer. The guard cradled the Growlithe for a couple of seconds before it jumped back into the battle. The fire-type opened its mouth and belched out a large Flamethrower at Slizar, and the steel bug tried to jump out of the way, but her left claw and leg were engulfed by the flames. Slizar screamed in pain as the fire burned her appendages and she jumped into the snow, rolling around until the fire died out but left a burn. Growling at the fact that she had been burned, Slizar opened her uninjured claw and shot out a Beam of Bubbles at her opponent, who was unable to dodge the attack and ended up causing Growlithe a great amount of pain. Growlithe picked itself up and charged at Slizar with a Bite attack, but the Scizor had next to no trouble dodging the attack, however she still winced at the pain from the burn. Due to becoming frustration because of the missed attack, Growlithe left Slizar a huge opportunity to attack, which she took. Once again Slizar opened her uninjured claw, but this time she sent out a spray of Swift stars at Growlithe. The point-blank attack pounded Growlithe into the ground, over and over again until it let out a loud yelp and stopped moving. Upon closer inspection Karmas and the guard were able to deduce that Growlithe had fainted.

“Well then, I guess you are worthy enough to pass… here.” The guard said as he handed Karmas a pass. “That pass will allow you access to the campus buildings whenever you wish.”

With that the guard left Karmas and Anthony alone at the entrance.

“That was a great battle Karmas, I have a Rawst Berry here that will cure Slizar of her burns.” Anthony said as he approached Karmas holding out a green strawberry-like berry for him to give to Slizar. “Now let’s get inside and get those books to Professor Huges, he’s up on the third floor!” Anthony said as he began to pick up some of the books.

Karmas held out the Rawst Berry to Slizar and the Scizor quickly ate it, healing herself of her burns. The pair then picked up the books and, along with Anthony, walked up a flight of stairs until they reached a door that said 'Prof. Huges Laboratory'. Suddenly Karmas heard a computer-like voice that said “Halt, answer which Pokemon the following passage describes to enter Professor Huges’ lab.”:

This pokemon lives in cold water. It will leave the water to search for food when it gets cold outside."

"Okay," said Karmas, "That sounds like a pokedex entry."

The trainer quickly pulled out his pokedex and flipped it open. He scanned through the various entries until he came across one which sounded a lot like what the computerized voice had said.

"The answer to the riddle is," started Karmas, "Wooper!"

    - You shout your commands to Anna as the battle continues, and little did you notice, you and your pokemon seem to be getting more comfortable on the battle field compared to the first round what may have seemed like such a long time ago. As Anna responds to your commands, your opponent gives Hitmontop orders of her own. “Hitmontop, use Quick Attack, then try Rapid Spin, and finally, use Gyro Sphere.” she said in a rather depressing tone. The Hitmontop sighed as he tried to move, but paralysis kept him from striking you with the speedy move. Being rather pleased about the status she inflicted, Anna doesn’t waste a moment releasing a cloudy powder in the air from her wool. As the powder spreads, it crosses Hitmontop who seemed to have a case of the sneezes, which distracted him enough to charge up a powerful amount of energy by using Charge. The Hitmontop struggled, but was able to temporarily gain his mobility and controlled his sneezing just long enough to spin around like a top and strike Anna with a Rapid Spin. Anna groaned in pain and anger, but mostly anger towards the pokemon who dared to strike her. With electricity charged up and new inspiration of anger, Anna began to emit a bright yellow light as she gathered enough electricity to strike the Hitmontop, destroying his momentum and made him tumble over on the battle field. Struggling to stay in battle, Hitmontop’s jealousy of Anna’s speed and frustration for barely being able to move, Hitmontop was able to gather enough strength to glow silver and spin into the shape of a metallic ball. The Handstand Pokemon Gyro Sphere’d straight at Anna, impacting her right in the gut, the Wool pokemon gasped for air as she stumbled to the floor. After the desperate attack Hitmontop preformed, he was inflicted by Fatal Attraction’s power once more, draining the rest of his energy causing him to fall to the floor. The crowed watched in anticipation as both parties lied on the floor lifelessly. Suddenly, Anna began to twitch as she tried to get up; she stumbled a bit, but was able to successfully stand up. “THE WINNER IS ALINA AND FLAAFY!” the announcer shouted. Lv. Up for Anna The crowd cheered for your and Anna’s victory. On the sidelines stood a very impressed Samantha and a surprised Kris watching you as the whole crowd continued to cheer. “Love is a virus, always leading to defeat…” your opponent mumbled as she returned the defeated Hitmontop to his pokeball. “ALL PARTICIPANTS, PLEASE REPORT TO THE WAITING ROOM NOW THAT THE SECOND ROUND HAS ENDED.” The announcer shouted into the microphone. At that, the remaining four participants (including you of course) returned back to the waiting room. There stood both Kris and Samantha, along with a rather husky fellow who seemed to be into hiking based on his clothing. Looking at the battle chart, you anxiously wondered which of these fearsome battlers you would be going up against. The likeliness of it being either Samantha or Kris was too great which made you worry. They both seemed to be amazing battlers, then again, if you end up battling the hiker and won, you’d have to battle one of them anyways. “Will battlers one and five please step forward.” the announcer stated in a normal inside voice, something that was not very common. You watched to see that the hiker stepped forward, your heart sank the moment you saw him move, but that moment of grief was suddenly not as bad as you saw your new friend, and past champion, Samantha, step forward as well. “Okay, you two report to the battle stage. Remember, you can only use the third pokemon you’ve signed up for this tournament now.” As the two silently left the room, you felt as if someone were watching you; you looked over to see that Kris was eyeing you competitively. “I hope for your sake you have a powerful pokemon along with you.” the pale white boy said aggressively as he smirked. “Don’t think I’ll go easy on you, I’ve been wanting to battle Samantha since last year, and battling her for the title would make it all the better.” Kris stated, still staring straight into your eyes. You turn away and focus you attention to the battle that, surprisingly to you, has already commenced. On the field you saw a Golem on the Hiker’s side already struggling against a beautiful, graceful Milotic which seemed to be Samantha’s. “You think that’s tough,” Kris said, noticing the fear in your face, “that’s not even her strongest pokemon…” he finished. Suddenly, the rocky Golem feel to the floor, already knocked out in a match that couldn’t have even been ten minutes long. “Hahaha. Are you ready Alina?” Kris said as the announcer beckoned them to the stage. The two of you quickly arrived on the battle stage taking your places. “BEGIN!” the announcer shouted. A few seconds later, Kris threw a Rock Ball into the air, it emitted a bright light that took the form of a mighty Aerodactyl.

    - “Okay, it’s good to hear that you are fine… as for your Slowpoke, he seems to have been hit in the head pretty hard. He doesn’t respond to anything we do and he has this vacant expression on his face. Other than that, he’ll be fine, just a few bumps and scratches; he probably took the majority of the injuries compared to you. Oh! Yes, my name is Debbie. My friend, Emily, and I seem to be in the same situation as you are. Did you happen to run into a young child on this island? We did, she said she was lost and lured us into the forest. Next thing we knew, we were in some dungeon, we managed to escape from it, but now we are stuck in this underground world…” Debbie explained. After she finished, a fair-haired woman appeared, dragging Sebastain along with her. “Has this one always been this slow?” she asked in a strained voice as she finally quit trying to carry the Slowpoke any further. “I’m Emily,” she said, still trying to regain her breath, “it’s a good thing we found you two or you would have frozen to death.” Suddenly, a huge rumble shook the four of you, pushing people down and creating cracks in the floor beneath you. “Sh*t!” shouted Debbie as she grabbed your hand pulling you away from the quake. Emily began to drag poor Sab across the floor trying to pull him out of the way as well. The earthquake suddenly stopped, just as sudden as it began. “They know where we are!” shouted Emily as she dropped Seb. “D*mn… Wait! Maybe this guy can help us!” Debbie said to Emily. “You want to get out of here right?” she said turning back to you, “You see, down here, there’s a pokemon, she rules this underground land and traps people here, she claims this whole island to be her territory and plans to kill all the people she catches… We’ve tried to fight her, but we haven’t been very successful so far. Tell me now if you are interested before I go on.” Debbie demanded, she seemed to be rather hopeful that you can help.

    - After being threatened by Tina, for understandable reasons, you decide to use your time wisely and ask Carol if there is anything you might be able to do to help with the unknown villans. “On the way here, you mentioned that a child had been kidnapped and that things were stolen from town. Could you tell me more about what happened or if anyone ever found the missing child? It sounds like Snowflake Village is in trouble, and I want to help out. I’m going to need to borrow a few things, but think I have a plan that just might work.” you said, hoping to be helpful. “Sadly, the child, who happens to be our neighbor’s son, hasn’t been found yet. His name was Sam,” said Carol as she cringed at the word was, “He was such a nice boy, and just a few years older than my Sue. He would always come by and help me in the fields during winter… he even aspired to become a pokemon trainer one day. No one is able to understand why THEY would take a child; normally THEY would just steal, and mostly just food at that. It’s a mystery… some of the braver towns people tried to track THEM through foot prints, but none could be found.” Carol said grimly. The Yache berry stew became to bubble over, reminding Carol about the task at hand. “If you would like, there have been rumors that whatever THEY are, they live in the forest, you can see it at the edge of our fields. Personally, I don’t think it’s the work of human beings. Though I’m not completely sure it’s pokemon either… it doesn’t seem normal. The forest pokemon never really came out, aside from the occasional berry thieving.” Carol went on as she finished the stew and announced for the food to be ready as your pokemon, Sue, and Tina all huddled around while you were deep in thought. The mysterious kidnapping, the abnormal behavior, it didn’t seem likely for the robbers to be human as they would need to stay close, as being out in the wilderness was practically suicide. They would surely have been discovered if they were human… but why would pokemon resort to kidnapping, and why would they rob the town stores when there were berries so close by? “If you really want, you can venture off to the forest tomorrow… it’s much to dangerous for that today, its close to sundown and that’s when the snowstorms really pick up… those didn’t really start up until THEY came too. Anyways, it would be safer to stay here tonight; anyone who saves my daughter is welcome here.” Carol said as she interrupted your pondering to give you the hot meal. Tina, obviously overhearing the invitation, scowled and retreated from her food, hovering close to the egg, giving you a weary glare. “Don’t mind her,” Carol said apologetically, “She’s just very protective of her egg, what with all the crimes recently…. Well you should probably get some sleep if you’re going out to the forest tomorrow.” she said.

    ***Later that night***

A screeching sound, like nails on a chalkboard, alarmingly wakes you up from a peaceful slumber. You look up to see a dark figure cutting the glass that surrounds Tina’s egg. “Ah!” shouted Carol as she ran out, possibly woken up by the screeching too, along with a flustered Tina. The shadowy figure pushed the glass back and grabbed the egg, after which it swiftly made its escape before you could do anything to prevent it. “TIIIIC!” screamed the angry Togetic as she immediately pursued the mysterious enigma out into the cold snowstorm.

    - You hear the computer make multiple beeps in many different pitches before it fell silent, “Correct. You may enter.” the computer voice said as the door unlocked. You stare in awe of the room, which was nearly covered with technology. You notice many different colored knobs, buttons, and keyboards, as well as more computer screens than you could count. Anthony, who was obviously more used to this room, strolled through the room and set down the books on the nearest counter that had enough space. You suddenly remember the weight of the books, which made your arms begin to tremble as you rushed to set your books next to Anthony’s stack. Slizar, who had more strength than either of you two, effortlessly carried the tallest stack and set them on the floor in front of the counter with the other books as there was not enough room on the counter. “Professor,” Anthony called out as looked around the large room, “Professor Huges, its Anthony, I got those books you asked for!” he continued to call out. From deep within, a faint voice responded, you could barely make out what he was saying, but it sounded like, “Just a minute.” The room was obviously larger than you expected, you looked in the direction where the voice came from to see a shadowy figure slowly come into the light. He was a somewhat short, elderly man, gray hair covered the sides and back of his head, leaving the top bald and shiny. A bushy mustache and beard covered his face, making him appear to have no mouth. He wore a white lab coat like Anthony, but also held a cane; this man seemed to be too old to be a college professor, he had to be at least 70. “Ah! Thank you for the books Anthony!” the professor thanked joyfully. “I see you brought a friend as well!” he said, addressing you and Slizar. “Oh, forgive me professor, this is Karmas, he and his Scizor, Slizar, helped me with the books.” Anthony stated. “Well then, thank you, Kamras, Slizar.” Professor Huges thanked, once again with a very jolly tone. The professor and Anthony then went into a complicated scientific conversation, one much too complicated for you to even try and keep up with. For the first time, you decide to take notice to the books which you have been carrying here, and you noticed that these books were about pokemon evolution. The one on top really caught your eye though; it was specifically about mythological methods to force evolution on a pokemon. It was titled ‘Triggering Evolution’. Meanwhile, your eyes wondered on to another book, this book seemed to explain how pokemon undergo split evolution. Based on the title, ‘The Split Evolution Mutation’, it seemed to be about what allows some pokemon to evolve into multiple different pokemon (such as Eevee or Kirlia.) “Ah, interested in a book there Kamras?” Professor Huges asked. This gave you the perfect chance to dig deeper into one of those mysterious books, of course, you could always ignore the books and ask to explore the surprisingly large lab and forget about the books…
