I wouldn't call it a rehash. In my opinion it's a proper, full sequel. I think a rehash implies that it used the same old areas and ideas that the first one did. While the core gameplay was the same it definitely felt like a brand new game built from the ground up on a new platform with new ideas. That's why it's my favourite, because it felt more like an evolution.

So I'd rather them do a new Paper Mario game in the style of the first two than anything else. Don't get me wrong I think the new 3DS one will be great and change is good. But looking at this and Super Paper Mario it almost seems like they don't know exactly what to do with this series anymore.

Hey, small question, has anyone purposely failed to answer Doopliss's name when he asks the third time? If yes, what happens?

But it's pointless and a waste of time since you don't get any experience meaning you don't level up and instead have to do side quest to boost your health and attack.

Now if the battle was like in Super Mario then fine because then at least I would be at least doing something.

Furthermore judging from the trailer it seems that stickers are everywhere so even battling for coins seem pointless.

I will wait for more information but from the way things looking I might not even bother picking up this game or not buy it on day one.

Pretty much this but I still wonder about the coin grinding for stickers and the Pit of 100 Trails.

I highly doubt they'd have battles without some sort of necessary reward. If not that'd be an extremely flawed system. We'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps certain tasks to get +HP or attack involve defeating a certain amount of enemies or something. We'll have to see.

I've always been intrigued by the Paper Mario series, but never got the chance to play them. Anybody have a recommendation for what game to start with? I've got no N64, but I do have a Wii.

My advice? Start at the beginning and work your way through.

The first one for N64 is on Virtual Console, in case you didn't know.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

This is the best entry in the series and probably one of the best games that came out on the Gamecube. Ever. I highly recommend you play this one over the other two entries in the series (soon to be 3 but that can wait).

Paper Mario TTYD is the best and my favourite game of all time. There's not really that big of a difference in which order you play as they don't really connect, but I'd recommend starting with Paper Mario 64. You'll appreciate TTYD more if you play 64 first.

Oh, that's useful. Then I suppose I'll start with that, and give TTYD a shot when I'm done. Thanks!

Also, you can get Super Paper Mario for only $20 new because it is a Nintendo Select Title. The one that's going to be tough to get it TTYD (arguably the best in the series). If you can find a copy, that's great. If not, maybe wait and see if the Wii U has Gamecube games for the Virtual Console Service and has TTYD.

I'm sure it shouldn't be a big of an issue to find it on Ebay or something

Personnally, I would have preferred if more areas were octagon shaped in TTYD. Like the desert and Yoshi's island were in the first game. I'd just like some degree of additional exploration.
I lost my DSi with my Black version in it.

He's still got two or so bonus videos left, so chuggaaconroy's LP of it isn't technically done yet.

    Chuggaaconroy annoys me

    His voice is awkward imo

And am I the only one that didn't really care for The Thousand Year Door?

    It does the job fine.

    What fame?

All he does is play video game and talk crap, anyone can do that.

Also I still don't think Let's players should be earning money from ads just for sitting around playing video games there is no talent is that what so ever.

Nah you aren't the only one I am the same as well, but that is only because I have still yet to fully play it.
