Not really now. I'm just playing the game and if I get medals, I'll get them from the weird guy in the Pokemon Center. After I explore all of Unova nd beat Black Skyscraper then I may attempt to complete my Medal Box. Wow, Flygon is really weak in comparison to my whole team. It's Adamant but it was better as a Trapinch to be honest. My strongest member right now is either Arcanine or Heracross.

I'm training now. Bronze has learned Smack Down, which will be great against Emolga. I'm still not sure on the last member of my team. Maybe an ice type.

If you can wait, you can get Sneasel or Piloswine in Giant Chasm or Lapras under Village Bridge. Hit a surfing spot and there's a 5% chance of a Lapras. Those are the earliest ice types there are. Lapras after 6 badges and Sneas/Pilo after 8.

It may be pointless but it's one more thing to keep you interested in the game. What's the point of shiny-hunting anyway? They only change colors... It's something to keep you with something to do ingame.

There is about 200 medals, and some of them is just like this: Trade over 100 pokemons, win 30 pokemon musicals, win against the e4 with only 1 pokemon, Defeat 1000 trainers in the Black Tower/White Treehollow, Earn over 1,000,000 EXP in one day, Participate in 2000 battles, Hatch 100 Eggs, Catch 100 Pokémon within the Entralink, Use 100 Pass Powers, and the one i think is going to take an life time: Pass by 1,000 people using the C-Gear

this is going to take years...

and you need to get all the medals to be able to get the Black/White trainer card.
i don't think you get anything more than that...
