Nice team Ponymon! I might try that mega team I made yesterday. Maybe no Zygarde though. Garchomp is probably better. I was also going to replace Gyarados. Something with Dark, Water, Ground and Ghost resistances. Good luck with that one :P. Gengar would probably be my Mega there- Alakazam, Scizor and Garchomp benefit without Megas, TTar is my tank/Rocks set up and whoever my 6th Pokémon is won't need it. From that, I'd need a Dark/Grass type maybe, to achieve all them resistances. Unless there's a type which resists Ground and Water (and there aren't really. Huh). At least a Water/Ground resist, because nothing covers them. So a Grass type. A Special Grass type...

Well, I've just realised (somewhat) where I've gone wrong in team-building. I include type resistances when picking Pokémon, but I don't check how they help- do that beat certain checks, etc. So I'll start afresh.

    Greninja @ Life Orb
    Protean
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Hydro Pump
    - Dark Pulse
    - Grass Knot
    - Ice Beam

Yeah, now I understand the metagame a bit better, this seems like a better Greninja set. Hydro Pump is the main STAB, dealing massive damage to most Pokémon who do not resist Water. Dark Pulse is the secondary STAB and nails the multitude of Ghost types in competitive. Grass Knot and Ice Beam are coverage, and thanks to Protean also technically receive STAB. Ice Beam murders Dragon types, and Grass types coming in on Hydro Pump, and Grass Knot nails the bulky Water types. Grass Knot also lets Greninja turn into a Grass type, soaking up Spores from Smeargle to then finish it off with Dark Pulse/Hydro Pump.

So Greninja struggles with bulky Grass and Water types, like Ferrothorn or Azumarill. It also doesn't like being hit by Fighting priority, like Mach Punch, because that ignores Greninja's speed and beats it up. So a Ghost type might be worthwhile, maybe Aegislash. I suppose Talonflame could work, beating Grass types with Fire attacks and having recovery with Gale Wings Roost.

Does Aegislash have enough of a special movepool (level up, TMs, egg moves) to run a Special Aegislash? Just curious.

Not really. Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon are the only things it learns (and Hidden Power). You can run Autotomize and those three, or maybe add Metal Sound to help. It could work because of the surprise factor.

Well I was thinking since in Blade Form (correct me if I'm wrong) it has 150 in Atk and SpAtk. So if you put 252 EVs in SpAtk and have it be Modest and run FlashCannon/ShadowBall/Automatize/King'sShield, it should be good.

Is this theory making sense to anyone else?

It can work yeah. I've considering my Aegislash to be mixed but I have so many special attackers that I really needed Aegi to go physical. And Sacred Sword wins it all.

Iron Head/Sacred Sword/Shadow Sneak/King's Shield is what I'm running now.

I've tried Aegislash a couple times, but I find it hard to use in most circumstances, mostly because in blade form i'm super susceptible to attacks, especially from talonflame, who is extremely common on wifi.

Aegislash, while super powerful, is really predictable imo. I'm usually able to boost or use EQ on its King Shields.

That being said, it's still really dangerous.

I know. I was going to try get this team ingame, but I think some of the moves aren't avaliable (Gen V only, unless that means Gen VI as well)

Aegislash, whilst you say easy to counter, has only 2 true counters- Hippowdon and Mandibuzz. Sure, both are weak to Ice, but both can take HP Ice's all day. I'd run a Shadow Ball / Shadow Sneak / Kings Shield / Sacred Sword set, just because Ghost + Fighting has perfect synergy. Sure, Steel nails Fairy, but other than that? Useless.

I'd probably run the above set for my Aegislash, which lets Aegislash act as a great pivot, switching in and out of attacks, beating the Fighting and Fairy Pokémon who wreck Greninja. In return, Greninja beats Hippowdon and I'd say Talonflame as well.

Does anyone know anything about this Pokebuilder app? I was on the App Store and it came up, and also my (boy)friend mentioned it. Does it have any value for breeding legit Pokemon?
