Anyone getting Gravity Daze and or the Metal Gear Solid Vita Collection today? I really wanted to get Gravity Daze, but I haven't played a Lego game since the first one on Xbox, and Lego Batman 2 seems really fun. Sigh... If only I didn't spend about $50 on PS2 games last month.
Anyways, I just went to the US PS Blog to check for today's store update (it updated really late), and let me tell you, there a LOT of whiny crybabies there. There's whining left and right. People were even asking for Sony to apologize to these asshats just for the late update. I thought it was a website for Playstation fanboys, but I guess there are a lot more whiners than fans.

Why I think Stunfisk is so popular:
It's Magikarp's long lost distant cousin from another region, who was finally discovered in September of last year in Japan, about almost about 13-14 years since they were separated. I'm pretty sure the Japanese created a holiday that day, and many tears were shed after such a long reunion. Now, Magikarp, the true God of Pokémons, can sleep peacefully, knowing that his cousin is safe.
Anyone getting Gravity Daze and or the Metal Gear Solid Vita Collection today?
Both are tempting. Of course I don't have a Vita yet but when I get one those two games already have my attention. Gravity Daze seems interesting, though I'd like to try before I buy. MGS Vita Collection would be nice for playing MGS on the go even though I already own MGS 2 and 3 on PS2 and PS3.
Regarding Gravity Rush, there is SO much I can say about it.
Do you want the long explanation for why you need to buy it now, or the short explanation?
...Screw it, I'm giving both.
Spoiler:- Long Explanation:
Gravity Rush... is really a hard game to explain. Mostly, I guess, because its not just the game aspect that gives the most fun.
While you probably hear the word "experience" thrown around a LOT regarding games like this, there really is no better word to explain this than simply "Adventure".
Because that's what it is.
First off, I should go in to detail with the game-play and mechanics... playability nonsense. While the name gives away the main gimmick for the game, it is far from just slingshotting yourself from wall, to ceiling, to other wall. You will also find yourself eventually sliding around a little above the ground, drifting at tight turns with the sixaxis, as well as fight enemies with glowing red eyes for weak-spots (called Nevi). Attacking these bulbous targets requires you to either run up to the monster, and wail on it with some kung-fu action... or alternatively using the gravity shifting to your advantage, rocketing a super-sped kick straight to the orb. Generally the latter is most used, but besides those two attacks you can also fire off special moves that deal deadly damage to all the Nevi in your path - Some of these moves include a spiral claw attack, a meteorite summoning homing attack, and a mini black-hole suction attack (bringing enemies closer to you, and ripping their eyes out of their sockets.) There are also certain items in the world you can pick up with a gravity stasis, increasing the more you upgrade this move... and that can be flung at targets.
Besides the basics of gravity shifting, you can also speed-up a 'fall', stop in midair, and dodge enemy attacks by swiping the screen. While this still seems simple, the ability for you to use the gravity slide to glide along slopes, and eventually the ceiling... is exhilarating. That's not even going into the races, puzzles, and time trials the side-challenges and main game throw at you that put your aim to the test.
The most important part of the game... is well, how it blends together INTO one. The story is surprisingly deep, and takes many un-expected turns. The game world is quite large, and feels alive with activity. The art-style is phenomenal... some of the best I've seen. The game is littered with hidden goodies, and jumping from the highest tower down to the literal edge of the world never seems to get old.
While the combat has some rough edges, most of the time it leaves a satisfying rush of energy. The game truly is a masterpiece, and if you have a Vita, a must-have. A true killer app. All the characters are lovable, and the whole game eventually ends on a cliffhanger to an inevitable sequel that should only be better, if it keeps up the quality of this one while smoothing the edges to the combat.
I'd give it a 9.5/10 overall, and 5/5 for everything except combat, which gets a 4/5.... and I generally don't like to give such high scores. Enjoy this game, because I know I will for years to come!
Short Explanation : Except for some aspects of combat (which are relatively minor), everything is a literal masterpiece. BUY IT.

So I bought a PS3 today.
Got MGS4, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Ico/SOTC Collection, and Resistance with it. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

Which Resistance did you get? Resistance 2 is supposed to be the best.
Also, tell me how SOTC is - I'm thinking of getting it.
You should also get Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. Both are supposed to be awesome.

Get PS+ right now if you want a bunch of good games, LBP2 and inFamous 2 ALONE are worth it to subscribe right now, and thats not including Just Cause 2, Spehs Mareens, and Saints Row 2...

I want a Vita all of a sudden. I didn't realise how inexpensive they are compared to the PSP at the moment. I'd say it's definitely worth the price jump now thinking about it.

Well, I've got no interest in Saints Row 2, since I have it on Steam, and I haven't played the first inFamous, but eh. :u I'll think about it.

I...got the first one. Why would I start with the second game in a series?

I played it on the PS2 and adored it. It's a fantastic game. It gives you the feels.

After I play the first game in both series, of course, but I've heard some pretty bland things about Uncharted, so I probably won't get it.

Eh, multiplayer has always been one of the big selling points for Resistance, and 2 was supposed to have the best. If you're shooting for the story, though, then that makes sense.
I probably will, then. Dem Colossi.
Yeah, Uncharted's gameplay leaves a little to be desired. The story is good, but as far as the actual shooting goes, it could be a whole lot more satisfying than it actually is.
Yeah, you should def go for PS+ if you can (and also if you have a HUGE harddrive due to the amount of games you'll probably download since you're a new PS3 owner). Yeah, the free games you download will no longer be playable after your membership expires (much like how you can't play Xbox Live online anymore once your Gold expires), but games that you bought with a discount (trust me, PS+ gives you a lot of discounts to old and new games alike) will be yours forever even if your membership runs out.
As for Killzone 1 and Uncharted 1... Killzone 1 is a PS2 game (it was supposed to release on the PS Store way back last year, but got pulled for some reason), and while Uncharted 1 may be not be perfect, don't let it ruin the whole trilogy for you. The leap from 1 to 2 is COLOSSUS!! Just what does that mean? Out of ALL the games released so far (yes, as long as games have existed), Uncharted 2 has won the most awards out of any videogames ever! The graphics are WAY better, the story is better, there are awesome set pieces, and everything is just bigger and better. As for Uncharted 3, while it's arguably not better than Uncharted 2(that game, like I said, has the most awards out of any videogame), it's still a pretty damn good game. That game, IMO, has one of the BEST set pieces out of any game ever. Let me just give you a hint... It involves a plane. That's all I'm going to say.
Anyways, yeah, congrats to being a new PS3 owner! Hope you enjoy it, the whole PS3 community, the games, and everything else!

Are there any other perks to PS+, aside from games I can't play anymore if I stop paying? :u I mean, I stopped paying for XBL when I realized I never played online, and that I used Steam so much more. I realize that I can go online without PS+, btw.

You can play games you have paid for but not the free ones as those are gone after + expires. Besides the discounts, PSN+ lets you auto download patches at a time you set, then there is the online storage for game saves, access to early Betas of games and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head.
Ite guys, I picked up a cheap PS3 today with Little big planet 2! I've downloaded Journey what an epic experience that was! Anyway I want to sink my teeth into some epic games what do you recommend??

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Yes, I believe I saw you mention this somewhere else before.
....You don't realise how much of a CRIME that is

It's been like that for 4 years.
Maybe I can get a profit off of it in 20 or so years.

Depends what kinds of games you like.
In general:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Uncharted 2
BioShock
Dead Space (only if you can stomach some gore)
Killzone 2 + 3
Resistance 2 + 3
God of War (same as Dead Space)
Starhawk
Infamous 2
