Default My Netgear Genie has a Runtime Error

I've tried uninstalling Netgear before reinstalling, but it won't let me uninstall. I don't know who to contact about this, nor do I know what made this error show up on my desktop.

    Runtime Error!

Program: ... NETGEAR B44 Monitor Temporary
    Items/NetgearGenieSvr.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
^ That's what the error prompt keeps saying. Has anyone had an issue with Netgear Genie like this one? Can I have some specific instructions?

That is a compatibility issue with your OS and the programming of the Netgear software you're installing.

What is your OS? if it is XP, I found this hotfix with a google search.

My OS is Windows 7, so no, I can't use that hotfix.

Well I can't seem to find a Windows 7 specific solution... I did find this post though. Might be worth a shot I reckon (the English is broken though heh).
