Yes, I know, but I didn't see my boyfriend doing that often in Metroid, and with a fair number of games where you need to aim you barely have to move your hand. How unimpressive is that?

    The hell?

Metroid is a shooter game. The game is based around aiming. How could you have not seen him aiming "often"? This isn't a matter of differing opinions - this is you claiming you watched someone play a shooting game with an IR-based controller but didn't see them actually aiming. It's a little like saying you watched someone play baseball but never saw them field or bat or anything. What was he doing the whole time, then?

And who the hell cares how much you have to move your hand? Guess what? Most of the action is going to be centered in or near the center of the screen. The object isn't to make you blanket the screen in cannon fire 90% of the time.

Based only on what I could think of off the top of my head and what I have played. I'm sure I could find a lot more examples if I actually cared to look into it. In fact, two games just came to mind Red Steel and Red Steel 2.

Oh, and, the Metroid game barely uses the motion controls. I saw my boyfriend play it. Most of the game involved him, well, not swinging or aiming the wii mote. So, I'm convinced that that game doesn't even count. If you don't need to be moving or aiming the wii mote for over 90% of the game, then it may as well be useless. Come on. It's more than obvious that they just put in the motion control in some of the games just because it was there. It wasn't needed, and it didn't add to the game play.
The motion controls made control much more fluid and easier. Being able to aim by pointing instead of moving a control stick around makes so much more sense. In this case, and with Epic Mickey, I'm talking about motion controls making the game a better play, which is a pretty big deal.

Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort were just to demonstrate what the motion controls were capable was in a game form. They weren't cleaver. They're fun, but they're hardly games.
They still make good use of motion controls.

I understand the convenience of streaming services. I just think it's nonsensical to suggest people hardly watch DVDs anymore when physical media is still being widely bought and used.

    No it isn't.

People are buying less physical books and are opting to download them since it's cheaper, quicker and allows them to carry more.

The printing medium is slowly dying.
Unfrotunately, you are somewhat right. However, book snobbery is much more rampant and you will get many people (myself included) who will never embrace electronic books. Trust me, there are entire communities of us.

    You can't smell an ebook.

The basic message remains. To imply DVDs are a dead medium is a fallacy.

He wasn't playing Metroid. At least, not Prime 3 or Prime Trilogy.

Not to mention, who cares if it uses motion control or not? Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Some things just don't fit well or work with motion control.

DVDs are dead, we have Bluray now.

    I checked. It's Prime 3.

Here. I'll even show you his case.

Then you're going to want to watch him play it again or try yourself, because the entire game is motion control. You cannot play without it.

I've watched him play, and...man... Aim and shoot has to be the easiest, and most boring motion control. For most aim and shoot games - which litter our arcades, so I could just go to one of them if I want to play a shooter - it's like...the most boring thing ever.

So, you want what everyone hates. Waggle. Pointless motion control, thrown in just because it's available? Prime is the perfect use of motion control, the game is truly better for it, that control scheme could not have worked better if it had used all buttons.

Then I'd suggest you try the game before you start to review it, as you've done with every other game we've talked about.

It puts the lotion on its skin?

Has anyone tried the video chat yet? I haven't gotten the chance to yet, as I still need to extend my wifi, but I'd like to hear some other's experiences with the app.
I have claimed Joltik. Deal with it.

You're getting streetpasses at a farmer's market. That's proof enough.

I was going to correct you and say 'it' was indeed a her, but 'it' may be more appropriate in this case...

Guys, you can win the argument without resorting to lame crap like calling Shiro to Kuro an 'it'. When the argument is so shaky, focus on that. By being childish, you just look like morons whose opinion is not worth listening to.

Too bad for the television shows not being released on Blu-ray then.

Forgive, I'm completely out of touch with these things. I can expect the reaction it''ll get so I wont bother asking "People still buy TV shows?"

Win? I'm not trying to 'win.' I'm getting my daily fix of entertainment, by this point.

At this point, we're arguing in circles. No one is going to get anywhere arguing, because we're arguing with someone who refuses to even understand why someone would buy a launch console.

Use Kid Icarus Uprising's control scheme!

YouTube...the lag, quality, and skipping. There is still my laptop so it doesn't hurt too much.

Oddly, YouTube videos indented into other websites work. Here's a little something silly from Stan Lee's World of Heroes. Iron Man is copyright of Marvel comics.

Okay, again, what possible reason is there to post that here? Especially as the person who comes running with a whistle every time he sees someone "off topic"? Please don't answer something like "so other people can see if it works for them!"

Well, that was the second reason, main reason was to change the topic as it doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere.
