Your last strategy to take down a Skarmory didn’t exactly work the way you wanted, but it did keep the Armor Bird trapped within a Spinning vortex of Fire, giving you a window of opportunity to use your stronger moves to defeat it. First, though, Flare flashed another Confuse Ray into Skarmory’s face, causing it to be disoriented once again. So disoriented, in fact, that it accidentally flew into the vortex and took more damage, just as your Vulpix jumped up to the Skarmory, Crossed her arms, and lit them on Fire. However, due to the erratic way her target was flying, the bird somehow flew out of the way of Flare’s attack, so she unfortunately wasted the energy that time. Worse still, she landed in the area where Skarmory had used Spikes, taking damage and further aggravating her injured leg. Meanwhile, Skarmory was still trying to regain its senses and flew close enough to the vortex to take some more damage. Flare gained courage from this, and, despite her injury, she was able to leap to where Skarmory was and try Crossfire again. This time, she connected, dealing some heavy damage to Skarmory’s torso, but Skarmory reacts quickly and releases its Air Cutting disks at pointblank range, slicing into Flare for some good damage. The Fire Spin dissipates, and you could tell Skarmory was in serious pain and was now charred all over its body. Flare wasn’t looking too hot either, as she winced in pain from her injured leg. You could tell she had run out of fire energy too. If you wanted to switch to Serafina, now was a good opportunity to do it. Even though your Houndour wasn’t as experienced as Flare or Skarmory, she would have a decent chance to finish the Armor Bird off.
