Default Whale Island - The Hydro-Electric Zone

    Whale Island
    The Hydro-Electric Zone

A tourist magnet, Whale Island is a large region of land that was formed from volcanic activity a millennia ago. There is a strange abundance of electrical energy present on this island which, rather than posing a problem, has complemented the island entirely. The entire area is a haven for water Pokémon with even the mountain craters filled to the brim, the abundance of water sports and holiday travel locations ensuring the time you spend here is never dull. Cities and townships are located all across the island, with resorts, inns, and travel lodges in ample supply. The Hydra River is the main waterway, starting up in the north-west area of the island and down through the Central Plains where the great Hydro-Electric Dam has been constructed, before leading down to the south-eastern corner of the island and back out to sea. Whether it's action water sports you're after, or just lazing on a nice stretch of beach somewhere, you'll definitely find the place you're looking for on the famous Whale Island.

    Northern Beaches
Unless you're travelling along the Hydra River, the northern beaches tend to attract the wealthier crowd due to the fact the small beaches lining its shore have been purchased privately by those who have subsequently built properties by the water. Some of the rarer water and electric type Pokémon can be found along here, but if a wealthy beach owner finds you trespassing on their land there may be some unpleasant consequences.

    Areas:
Shell Harbour: The entry point for those visiting the northern beaches, Shell Harbour offers cafe's, restaurants, a travel lodge, and several shops. Further down the wharf you'll find a boat hire agent who can organise guided tours unless you'd like to sail solo.

Opal Cove Resort: An exclusive luxury retreat on the northern beaches catering for those who appreciate the best.

Raine's Wildlife Park: A nice spot for a family day out, Raine's Wildlife Park is open to visitors who are interested in seeing some of Whale Island's native Pokémon without having to venture too far themselves.

Brumby Lake: A popular fishing spot for locals and tourists alike, Brumby Lake is also well-known for the riding stables nearby where you can hire Blitzle or Zebstrika and enjoy riding the many trails around the lake and surrounding bushland.

Ancient Ruins: Several hundred feet from shore, and a few hundred feet deep, lay the remains of an ancient city. Dubbed "Atlantis" for obvious reasons, many of its structures are in remarkably good condition. You'll need a Pokémon with Dive if you're wanting to explore here, but be warned; many of the tunnels have not yet been mapped so take care to ensure you don't become lost.

    East Coast
By far the most popular tourist destination spot, the East Coast of Whale Island seems to be constantly abuzz with activity both day and night. Unfortunately the downside to this is the crime rate has risen so be sure to keep an eye out for the con artists and thieves who are looking to swindle unsuspecting travellers out of their holiday spending money. Despite this downside the east coast is a great place to holiday, especially if you're looking to make the most of daytime and night time entertainment.

    Areas:
Pieli Harbour: Both a large harbour and resort, Pieli Harbour is famous for the best ice cream in the land, as well as its massive shipping stations, with boats as small as canoes to colossal ferries. The resort itself is archetypical of a seaside funfair, with several small rides as well as a roller coaster and ferris wheel, though the promenade at night is a sight for sore eyes to drown their sorrows on.

Ampere Beach: The largest stretch of coastal sand in all of Fizzy Bubbles, Ampere Beach is famed for its sand which contains a mild electrical current that soothes the body. This charge is the result of the high salinity content, combined with the naturally high electricity from the central regions, providing an earthing ground for the static. As a result, the beach is often used in therapeutics, evident by the resort known as Pieli Harbour.

Seaside City: Built up over time, Seaside City has attracted quite a number of tourists as well as long-term residents. It is now a sprawling city with all the trimmings, including shopping malls, schools, parks, and industrial sector. With plenty to do and places to visit, you'd be hard-pressed for a lazy time.

Rainbow Reef: One of Whale Island's most remarkable natural gifts, Rainbow Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of one of the world's largest coral reefs containing an abundance of marine life. Whether snorkelling or diving, you're sure to become immersed by this wonderful underwater world.

SS Calypso Shipwreck: Approximately ten miles from shore, laying almost 100 metres deep, lays the remains of the once magnificent SS Calypso cruise liner. Sunk by a torpedo during wartime several decades ago and killing more than 2,000 of the 2,500 passengers and crew on board, the Calypso's silent remains are said to be haunted by the spirits of those who died that fateful day. Strange happenings in the waters surrounding the wreck cause most to stay away, but there are some whose curiosity attracts them to the site.

    Laguna Peninsula
The Laguna Peninsula, also known as "Pirate Isle", is mainly forest and is famous for once harbouring a particularly nasty clan of pirates whose treasure is rumoured to still be hidden away somewhere in the vicinity. The peninsula is located on the south east end of Whale Island and although the pirates have long since vacated the land, they've certainly left their mark. Other than a rest house occupied by the peninsula's caretaker, there are no other dwellings here, the entire peninsula being under the protection of the Whale Island Conservation Society (WICS). It is said secret hideouts are cleverly hidden everywhere, so even if you're not aware of it you'll definitely have passed several of them if you're to take a scenic walk across the peninsula. Visit Pirate Isle and you'll be in for a jolly good time.

    Areas:
The Caverns: While Laguna Beach surrounds the majority of the Laguna Peninsula, there is one stretch of coast whose rocky cliffs are not so inviting. Here the waters are quite treacherous and if you sail too close the risk of being slammed against the rocks is very high. Caverns dot the cliffside, making them the perfect hideout for the rumoured hidden treasure, but they are also home to many wild Pokémon. Explore at your own risk!

The Black Swan: The Black Swan, once one of the largest and most feared pirate ships of its day, now lays rotting on Laguna Beach. Strangely enough wild Pokémon steer clear of the wreck; a sign that people perhaps shouldn't ignore.

Kakatua Lagoon: Protected by a shallow sandy atoll, Kakatua Lagoon is surrounded by forest making it the perfect romantic retreat for those looking for a little privacy. It's not uncommon to find couples camping here, though the stories of hidden treasure often attract a more nefarious element to the area.

Laguna Lake: A freshwater lake where the local Pokémon come to drink. People will often picnic here while trainers are more interested in seeing the kinds of Pokémon the lake attracts.

Ghostly Galleon: It is said that when Black Friday falls upon a night with a full moon, the Ghostly Galleon will appear, unaware that she has sailed through a rift in time. Fact or fiction? Only time will tell...

    Central Plains
Mostly fertile farmland there's not much here for your average tourist or trainer although a few areas of interest do attract the more adventurous trainers. Electric Pokémon thrive out here and are often found roaming the fields. Better beware though, they're not all that fond of trainers getting too close to their young so take a wrong step and you may find yourself on the wrong end of a lightning bolt that hasn't come from the sky.

    Areas:
Cetus Port: The main arrival and departure area for the Central Plains, the Cetus Port is located on the banks of the Hydra River and hosts a few warehouses, a post office, and an inn. People rarely stay long here, eager to venture out onto one of the several paths leading away from the river and out into the Central Plains.

Thunder Plains: The Thunder Plains are consistently lashed with vicious thunderstorms making travel for unprepared trainers a dance with death if not adequately equipped. The ferocity of the lightning bolts literally crack the hardened stony ground with every strike, and a Pokémon designed for attracting lightning is a nigh-on requisite for travelling through the plains without being smote. Indeed, such are the conditions that only the hardiest Pokémon reside here, calling the plains home.

Hydro-Electric Dam: Relatively new to the island is the Hydro-Electric dam, a massive construct that has created a reservoir of water several dozen million cubic feet in volume. Chosen due it being a renewable source of clean energy, and promoted for the fact it produces no waste or greenhouse gases, the dam has become a tourist attraction in its own right, its rich power source attracting a large variety of electric Pokémon to the area.

Energos Quarry: As a mine abandoned after an errant spark caused a massive cave-in that crushed hundreds of workers, Energos Quarry is full of an electro-magnetic ore that causes electrical devices to malfunction and electric Pokémon to act strangely even inside their Pokéballs. Although abandoned, there are still many gemstones to be found in the tunnels and mines within, although plucky adventurers are warned that some of the Pokémon living in the mines may be reluctant to part with the treasures.

Crater Lake: Atop an extinct volcano, its crater is now a freshwater lake and home to many wild Pokémon. A travel lodge awaits weary visitors who have trekked up the mountainside, where they can rest their weary bones and have a bite to eat. Some say ancient Pokémon reside way down deep inside the throat of the volcano but nobody has been able to verify these stories.

    Southern Gulf
The southern regions of Whale Island are known to be beautiful grassland with rolling hills and grazing Mareep by the thousand, as well as vast forests protected by the Whale Island Conservation Society. Some unapproved logging has been taking place recently, however, causing much stress to both the WICS and the local wildlife, prompting the Pokémon to show higher levels of hostility toward trainers and picnickers alike.

    Areas:
Pearl Cove: The entry point to Pearl City, the southern gulf's main residential and commercial district, you're sure to find some activity with which to pass the time. The WICS Head Office is located here, as is the local Pokémon Centre, but due to the illegal logging that has been taking place in the vicinity recently the locals have become quite suspicious of strangers. Win their trust and they may be able to point you in a rewarding direction.

Raikou's Effigy: A life size stone statue of the Legendary Thunder Pokémon Raikou, depicted in an eternal roar. Some say the statue is real, and that Raikou comes to life when needed. Whether this is true or not, the statue has a powerful presence and some swear its eyes follow them across the grassy fields.

Blitz River: The second longest river on the island, the Blitz is a lovely crystalline river that is greatly admired. While the water seems pure, there have been reports that the local Pokémon in the region use it for all their cleaning duties, making it rather impure for the body. The fishing at the riverside, however, is unparalleled.

Cascade Waterfall: The largest of a series of waterfalls along the Blitz River, the Cascade Waterfall is by far the most amazing of them all. Walking trails lead up and down either side of the falls and through the surrounding bushland, making it a lovely place to visit on anyone's itinerary. Wild Pokémon have become accustomed to the number of people visiting here and can sometimes be quite friendly.

Pirate's Cove: A sizable gulf set in some cliffs, with torrential waters at the entrance preventing proper investigation. So called for the fact that pirates frequented the cove for their plunder, and located not too far from the Laguna Peninsula, the rapids have resulted in the area being less cordoned as a tourist spot. Though several people have managed to brave the waters, using their powerful Surfing Pokémon to break through, none have emerged from the hallowed cliffs, rumoured to contain vast swathes of booty.

    Western Shore
The western shore of Whale Island has more rocky, craggy cliffs than stunning sandy beaches, but has its own attractions nonetheless. Several villages and freshwater springs dot the area. Whether you're here for relaxation, adrenaline rushing water sports, or to find new Pokémon, you're sure to find something to keep you happy during your stay.

    Areas:
Delphin Harbour: A bustling harbour and the entry point for Whale Island's western shore, Delphin Harbour is practically the sister port to the east coast's Pieli Harbour. Shops to tend to most of your needs can be found upon the main strip making it a pleasant place to explore, and if you're feeling a little adventurous you can walk to the far end of the harbour to find the famous blowhole which then leads around to Delphin Beach and its accompanying boardwalk and amusement park.

The Lighthouse: A lighthouse situated atop the cliffs overlooking the Delphin Heads, the lighthouse has long since been unmanned. It's light never goes out, however, despite the fact no maintenance has been carried out here for more than forty years...

Suicune's Effigy: A life size stone statue of the Legendary Aurora Pokémon Suicune, depicted in an eternal roar. Some say the statue is real, and that Suicune comes to life when needed. Whether this is true or not, the statue has a powerful presence and some swear its eyes follow them as they pass by.

Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park: A massive water theme park set in a deep valley through which the Centaur River flows. With many rides and water based games, discover the wide range of activities to get the heart racing, such as sky diving, bungee jumping, para-sailing and jet skiing to name a few. You can swim with the tamed water Pokémon, have fun partaking in other activities, or simply laze by a pool. However you choose to spend your time you're sure to have fun doing it.

Crescent Trench: About a mile offshore is a deep sea trench in the shape of a crescent moon. Only some of the stronger Pokémon can be found here but it gets pretty cold and dark way down in the depths of the ocean. Your Pokémon will need some special training before you even attempt exploring this area.

"Alright Cyndaquil, we're almost to the top," Chad said. He looked down the hill to see his Pokemon behind him. Cyndaquil was a few feet below him. "How are you doing, buddy?" He seemed to be struggling a little.

"Quil! Cynda cyn cynda cyndaquil," he replied. As he spoke his voice began to slow down and tire out.

"Getting tired? There's a lodge coming up," Chad hopped down to his fiery friend. "We can rest there for a little while. Then I'd like to explore the area for a bit. Have you ever heard of a lake in a volcano?" Cyndaquil tilted his head inquisitively. "Well, a lake with water in a volcano?" Chad clarified. He picked Cyndaquil up. "Now if you promise to leave your flame extinguished until we get to the lodge, I'll carry you the rest of the way." Cyndaquil quickly squeaked noting his approval. "Let's go."

Chad began to climb again. He knew he was getting near the top because the slope started to get steeper. He started thinking about his parents. They had told him of the famous Crater Lake of Whale Island. He never believed their stories before, and now he was going to be able to see if they were right. Now this thoughts shifted towards his climbing. As the slope got even steeper, it was becoming difficult to hold Cyndaquil with one arm while climbing with his other arm and legs. He reached a point where he could stand firm.

"I think from here to the top, you'll need to ride on my backpack," Chad said holding Cyndaquil out facing him. "I need all my limbs to climb now. We're almost there." He lifted Cyndaquil to his shoulder, and he climbed onto Chad's back. "Let's get this climb over with now."

Chad climbed up the slope of the volcano with Cyndaquil on his back. It appeared to go faster now that he had full use of his arms and legs. He looked up, and he could see that the top was in sight. As he climbed higher, the outline of a building began to appear. Chad smiled, and he climbed a little faster, brimming with excitement. Finally, he reached the top. He laid on the ground for a moment to catch his breath. Cyndaquil jumped off.

"There. We made it," he said breathing heavily. Chad crawled away from the edge. "I don't know about you, but I'd rather not do that again for a long time!" He stood up and began to survey his surroundings. He turned around, and behind him, he could see the lodge. It wasn't a tall building, but it was long. "I hope there's somewhere we can rest in there." He turned again to look out over the horizon. "Aren't the Central Plains beautiful? Farmland as far as the eye can see. Whale Island is a great place. We should check other areas of the island out after we relax a bit here." Cyndaquil squealed in agreement. "Now let's make our way to the lodge to rest. Maybe we can see the lake from there."

"One Classic Pieli, please!" Charlotte exclaimed full of happiness and glee, finally having reached the ice cream man after ten long minutes of queueing. At last he was going to taste the legendary Classic Pieli, the best ice cream ever in the region, in the whole world! Everyone knew that the Classic Pieli was easily the best; it was every child's dream to get at least one lick of the elusive ice cream.*

One longing minute later, Charlotte was walking down the street next to the coast, looking around with much curiosity at the the small funfair rides, the rollercoaster and the ferris wheel nearby. It sure was a busy place; tourists were everywhere, shopping at stalls perched on the sidewalk, taking a walk with their family, having a great time with their friends and Pokémon, as well as just relaxing on the benches. Flame walked beside her as Charlotte continued to lick her precious Classic Pieli, savouring every lick. Thank goodness that Flare wasn't into ice creams.*

"This place really is amazing," Charlotte murmured in wonder as she settled down on a bench, Flare on her laps, her head resting on her paws. Topaz released herself from her Poké Ball, eager to see the outside world, and Charlotte hugged her, pulling her closer.*

She'd heard countless tales about the East Coast of Whale Island from her friends back at her hometown. Most of the things they said were either exaggerated beyond imagination or just plan obvious lies. She was smart enough not to listen to them. But the few things she had thought were decent had just been proved true; that Pieli Harbour was the most impressive place on Whale Island by far, that there was a little funfair there, and that the best ice cream, the Classic Pieli, came from that very place. It truly was magnificent.*

Eventually, Charlotte finished her scrumptious Classic Pieli, greedily swallowing the last bit left of the cone, and licked her lips, wanting more. But one ice cream would definitely do for the day; after all, the ice cream was crazily expensive, and she wasn't willing to waste her money on another ice cream. Instead, she leant back and relaxed, her two Pokémon by each side, as they leaned against her drowsily as they looked on at the sea.

Scott had been looking foward to going to Whale island for the longest time to take a beach vacation. Now that it was officially open to the public, he could finally go. He was dressed to spend a day at the beach. Wearing a pair of green swim trunks, with a green tank top, and flip flops on his feet. As per usual, he brought along Shaana, his Munna, who sat on her usual place, on her trainer's shoulder. He had also made sure he was well prepared, even making sure to apply SPF 30 sun screen before he came. He wasn't about to risk getting burned. He also brought along some lotion for reapplication when necessary, as well as a few other essential items.

After he arrived on the island, the first thing he did was head straight to the recreation park on the Western Shore. The first thing on his agenda, was to take a dip in the pool. He wanted to relax for a bit, and he wasn't quite ready to partake in the heart racing activities the place was known for just yet. The twenty-one year old trainer went into the pool area, set his bag by a nearby chair, took off his shirt and shoes, then he proceeded to jump into the pool.

He landed in the water with a big splash. He stayed submerged for a few seconds, before coming up for air. Then he laid on his back, put his hands behind his head, and floated in the water. "Ah, the water is the perfect tempature. Now this is the way you start a vacation, right Shaana?"

"Mun." Said the Dream Eater Pokemon, who was hovering a few inches above her trainer. She wasn't interested in going swimming herself.

Fiona and Black began walking along the path of the Whale Island. It was kinda foggy, but many details we're seeable, The only reason they came there was that Black egged Fiona (A.K.A. Abused) into seeing Raikou's Effigy, a statue that rose above all the others, representing Raikou. You could always count of Black for finding this out - she had a habit for fiddling around with maps and pokedex's, yearning for some sort of entertainment. Obviously she found a lot of interesting things, including games, puzzles, and sometimes camera's. She was snapping photos of the Effigy, but Fiona unwillingly took the pokédex out of the Purrloins hands and deleted the pictures every now and then. She did not know if they we're safe or not, so she was always 100% shy and cautious, in case she fell into some sort of random ditch. As they began advancing toward their destination, Black slapped Fiona as if she was in a trance, and pointed west.

"What is it?" Asked Fiona with fear building in her voice, and gulped. "Any trouble?"

But what she saw caused no trouble.

Out of the fog, A beautiful trench was formed out of the ground, water gushing everywhere, pokémon splashing in every sort of direction. She gasped and smiled, while Black grinned a sort of evil grin, but then plucked a fruit out of a tree and began to eat it, instantly spitting it out. She then pointed toward the distance, and a statue was awaiting them in the mist. They walked over there, hoping no dangers we're there, ready to attack. They had enough adventures in the world anyway, but as many said, you could never have enough.

Connor frowned while sitting on a bench as he looked at the map of Whale Island. He was turning it around in various angles still not believing that even with a map he has ended up in the wrong area. Again.

"You know it always bugs me that no matter what I do, I always end up in the wrong location. Why is that?" he asked Gaspard, his Aipom, and Foster, his Shuppet, who were both enjoying a Classic Pieli. Gaspard in particular loved its sweetness and was eating it like there's no tomorrow. The Aipom just shrugged at Connor's question, having gotten used to his lack of sense of direction while Foster, who was still relatively new to the team, just laughed at his Trainer's misfortune once again. Connor sighed at the two.

"I really need to do something about this," Connor muttered as he now looked around at his surroundings while eating his own Classic Pieli, the Pieli Harbor somehow reminding him of home, back in Canalave City. "You know Gaspard, I wonder how my parents are doing? They never did approve me of going out around the world... it was a miracle that they even let me keep you! I know they still don't like you though..." he said to Gaspard who had just finished his ice cream while petting his head. Foster who was curious at what Connor was saying asked, "Shuppet?" Connor realized this and turned to face the curious Shuppet

"Oh that's right, you, Humphrey, and Marco still don't know much about us huh? Well, let's just say that I had a rocky start in my journey..." Connor said with a sad expression on his face, "You know what, I'll tell you all about it when all three of you are together okay?" Foster nodded, it was then that Connor decided to go around the area with his camera in hand to check out the places around him with Gaspard on his shoulder and Foster floating nearby, "Well guys, break time's over. Let's go around and check out this place shall we?"

It had been a while since Stark had been out on an actual adventure with his companions. Mostly they had just traveled around to different resorts around the lands of Fizzy Bubbles with occasional side tracks in strange places. However those stops had been short overall and the trainer was beginning to long for a little excitement again. His time spent in a Dream World had renewed his desire to see the world for what it was. For a while he had considered visiting the famed Lighthouse of the isle or maybe even one of the two Effigies dedicated to the legendary beasts, but eventually, his love of nature and of waterfalls in particular brought him to what was considered one of the most amazing ones in all the lands.

The Cascade Waterfall had quite the reputation and Stark was not about to let the opportunity to see it pass. With any luck he wouldn't have to worry about militant trainers causing trouble here, unlike when he visited the falls of the Cloud Garden. That had been quite the mess and one Stark would just as soon forget given the way two factions brutally attacked each other while putting innocent bystanders at risk. Stark himself wasn't even sure how he managed to get out of it safely. Mostly due to his partners he supposed.

However, this time he had new partner with him. It was almost like he had begun his journey all over again with new and old friends alike. Friends he was hoping to get a chance to know better as time went on. Sure they had trained together in the past. Learned a few moves here and there, but this was an opportunity to really get to know one another. And Stark was more than happy to oblige.

The trainer continued his trek up the trail toward the falls. Excitement building within him. He could remember back when he first started his journey how Cyndaquil would ride on his shoulder or how Spearow used to sit atop his head and peck at him. In those days his ability to teach and control his pokemon were rather limited. When Buizel raided his supply of rare candies, Stark learned how far he still needed to go to become a great trainer. Since those days, he had learned to discipline hie partners as well as teach them the difference between right and wrong. It was all part of the growing up process for all of them. Now Stark was looking forward to doing it with a new generation of partners. Time would only tell just how far they could all go together.

    Areas:
The Lighthouse: A lighthouse situated atop the cliffs overlooking the Delphin Heads, the lighthouse has long since been unmanned. It's light never goes out, however, despite the fact no maintenance has been carried out here for more than forty years...
Darkness reigns at the foot of the lighthouse. - Japanese Proverb

Night has fallen on the Western Shore. The normally oppressive heat of daylight on the island has fizzled out with the absence of the sun, and cool darkness has gently embraced the island. Stars glitter in the unpolluted island sky, vastly outnumbering the few island-goers who would still be awake at this hour. To many, this time of night is one of mystery and doubt; to Marion, the darkness is a familiar friend. It hides no secrets from her, unlike the blinding, confusing daylight which would disorient her.

Holding tightly to her beloved Dragonite, August, the two fly across the starry night sky towards a singular beacon of light, shining brightly like a star that had fallen to Earth. Their eyes are locked on this strange beacon, which shines brilliantly in the darkness. Marion loosens her left hand to point forward towards the light, and whispers to her companion, "Here. Here is the lighthouse. I can't wait to explore this place..."

August flies towards the lighthouse with precision, speed and grace, as is fitting for a creature of her intense training and rarity. Making a careful landing at the foot of the lighthouse, she turns to ensure that Marion is able to safely dismount. Once Marion is safely on the ground and dusting herself off, August tilts her head slightly, and points to a map in Marion's pocket.

"Oh, this?" Marion pulls the map out, revealing a standard-issue tourist map of Whale Island. "What about it?"

August gently takes the map from her trainer's hand, and looks over it carefully, squinting in the darkness. After a time, August shows the map to Marion, pointing to an advertisement under Laguna Peninsula. Even in the darkness, Marion can make out the brightly-colored text of the ad, which speaks of the mysterious Ghostly Galleon, a popular myth in the Whale Islands. August again tilts her head and makes a confused, questioning utterance.

"Oh, that. Yes, I considered going there... but there's a certain subtlety to the mystery of this lighthouse, a certain... fascinating question that hovers over its continuous dependability. I feel like many trainers wouldn't give this place a second look." Marion stares up at the glowing beacon as she says this. "I think there's something going on here that we should investigate. Something... not of this world, perhaps? Or maybe the answer is simpler than that..."

August nods in understanding. She stares up at the beacon alongside Marion, thinking for a moment, before pointing up and flapping its wings, as if suggesting flying up to the beacon to take a look.

"It would certainly be the quickest way to solve the mystery, but I fear the two of us may go blind from the light." Marion chuckles. "Perhaps we should try solving this mystery from the bottom up. Who knows what clues we may find along the way..."

Marion and August approach the ground entrance of the lighthouse hand in hand, with August carefully ensuring that her trainer does not trip and fall on the rocky cliffside as they walk. Marion smiles with appreciation at her dear friend. "Thanks, August... You know how lacking in the grace department I am." Marion laughs softly, as August returns Marion's smile.

"Neptune, Larry, I think we've reached the summit!" yells Cele as the pair of Pokemon drearily walked up the cliffside. They were both tired, but who could blame them after they had been walking for hours without rest. There were signs of relief on their faces as they awaited the rest that they thought they were getting after reaching the summit. Looking up, Cele sees another hidden path and remarks, "False alarm, guys, there's still more mountain to be explored. But let's have a short break anyway." The Aron and Squirtle beamed with joy at this announcement as they lay down peacfully on the ground.

Taking a moment from his mountain climbing, Cele stops walking to catch his breath and spectacle at the sight that presented itself towards him. The beatiful turquoise sea streached out in front of him, as the sunset reflected off the surface of the water made for an extremely breathtaking sight. Neptune's eyes sparkled in amazement at the view, he was completely mesmerized. Larry, however, took one look at the sea and quickly went over to the nearest rock and began to chew on it, obviously not caring about the view. "Oh, Larry." Cele mutters silently to himself, while petting the Aron on his head.

"When are we gonna come across anything unusual or special in our journeys?" Cele thinks to himself. "Probably never, that's just how lucky I am." he says with a frown. "Come on guys, let's call it a day and get back to the bottom of this boring mountain. We should hurry back before it gets dark." Cele yells to his Pokemon, before tripping over a broken stone formation. "Seriously! My luck is terrible these days." Cele shouts at no one in particular. Dusting himself off, he feels an eerie wind blow from the left. Immediately turning, he is greeted by a hole in the side of the cliff. A cavern, to be more precise.

"Hey Neptune, Larry, I want you guys to come see this." Cele calls out to the Squirtle and Aron that were still lagging behind him. "Look." Cele says, pointing towards the cavern entrance. "Who knows what might be in there." Cele wonders. "What do you guys say? Are you ready for adventure?" Cele asks, with slight confidence in his voice. "Squirt! Aron ron!" the Pokemon answer, nodding their heads. "Okay, let's go then!" Cele yells, running into the cave, not knowing what awaits him.

    Areas:

Raine's Wildlife Park: A nice spot for a family day out, Raine's Wildlife Park is open to visitors who are interested in seeing some of Whale Island's native Pokémon without having to venture too far themselves.

Joshua sniffed the ocean air deeply, and smiled at his new friend, Aegis the Squirtle who he'd recently adopted. "I bet it feels good to be in such a watery area, eh Aegis?"

"Squirtle squirt!" the Pokémon cried out enthusiastically.

"Well, we can lie on the beach later - now seems like a good opportunity to try and find some new, possibly rare Pokémon... Assuming you're allowed to go for captures here..." Joshua shook his head. He'd made that mistake before, and it had ended... Badly. He'd been chased out of the park by a horde of angry Rangers, and an even angrier Ursaring... Bears do not like Pokéballs. Aegis hadn't been around for that mishap, so he simply stared at the reminiscing man blankly.

    "Squir...?"

"Hmm? Oh, right, we're here. Raine's Wildlife Park! Family fun with Whale Island's native Pokémon. Who could ask for more?" Apparently not many, given the size of the line. "... This might take a while..."

    ---

It was a full fifteen minutes before Joshua and Aegis reached the front of the line. Freakin families freakin everywhere. "One adult and one Pokémon, please. Quick question though, as a trainer, am I able to capture any of the wild Pokémon in here?"

Default Whale Island Adventures: Batch 1

Hello everyone! I'll be updating all of you during your stay here at Whale Island. I hope you have fun - I know I will! Be sure to reply in Size 1 and Color deepskyblue. Also, do try to avoid self-updating. While I appreciate description on your part, saying something is there when it isn't or that something is a way not previously described kinda counts as such. Most of the time I'll just go with it, or I may flat out ignore those bits, or even have random misfortune fall upon you if you overdo it. I don't see really see that last bit happening though; you all seem like good people. Also, I'll try to make updates a weekly thing. If you're not included in any one batch, I'll make it a priority to include you in the next one. Anyways, that's about it. Here we go!

    ::Pieli Harbor::

Flame Mistress: There are many reasons not to miss Whale Island's tourist hotspot, the East Coast, such as the therapeutical sands of Ampere Beach, the surreal beauty of the Rainbow Reefs, or the dazzling nightlife of the cosmopolitan Seaside City, to name a few. For some however, a taste of Pieli Harbour's scrumptious, world-class ice cream was reason enough, and you were one of such people. Having endured several eternal minutes of agony queueing in line for your turn, you finally get a piece of the heavenly treat, and oh was it good! The creamy goodness felt like fine silk rubbing against your skin as it melted on your mouth and softly made its way into your stomach. Nobody could tell exactly what the Pieli Classic was made of, but you could feel a plethora of everchanging notes resulting from a vast array of unknown fruits, herbs and spices. Whatever it was, it thoroughly tested your ability to avoid eating it too fast. You were happy your partner, Flare, wasn't a big fan of ice creams, though a part of you felt that this particular dessert could perhaps make the young Vulpix turn around its opinion entirely; a theory you were not yet ready to test now, if ever.

Ice cream in hand, you wander around looking for what more Pieli had to offer. The area was lively and bursting with activity as both locals and tourists went on about their respective businesses. Many boats of varying shapes and sizes parked along the coast, some disembarking various goodies whereas others were just getting ready to set sail. The sight of a rather luxurious personal cruise catches your eye and you wonder just what lucky soul could afford such a ride. The various funfair rides tickle your curiosity even more however, and you turn your eyes to the massive rollercoaster as you hear the distant hysterical screams of its passengers; the Raikou and Suicune themed trains racing, circling and looping over one another at extreme speeds much like their legendary counterparts. It looked like the kind of fun that would twist and scramble your innards and yet leave you craving for more. In contrast, the huge ferris wheel provided a far less radical experience in exchange for a priceless view of the area; a tempting offer.

Awestruck, you stop to settle down on a bench and rest. Flare hops on and lays atop your lap and even topaz comes out to better look at your surroundings as you lovingly hug the fluffy bird closer. Up until now, what you had seen of East Coast wasn't terribly impressive for you, but Pieli Harbor was beyond expectations and you thought it the best place on Whale Island by far; a thought which many would agree with.

As you finally finish your bit of heaven in a cone, you find yourself wanting more, but the injustice of paying so much for another one makes you decide against it. You choose to sit back and relax along with your Pokémon, soothing yourself with the constant murmur of the cityfolk, the cries of the greedy Wingulls, and the sound and smell of the ocean. Your peace was short-lived however as you notice a young boy about your same age approach you. He had slightly tanned skin and short black hair, and wore a simple outfit consisting of a white shirt, cacky shorts and sandals.

"Hi there," he said a bit on the shy side, "I'm sorry, I just felt like talking to you. You have a very beautiful Vulpix there; I don't see those very often. My name's Phillip. Is this your first time here?"

Looks like someone's interested in making a new friend, and he sounded like he's really been around.

    What will you do?

uhhhh: You curse your sense of direction as you find yourself hopelessly lost in Pieli Harbour. Whatever your original destination was, the fact is that you weren't there and that frustrated you greatly. Why did these things have to happen to you all the time? Gaspard just shrugs, the Aipom's interest being more focused on devouring the glorious Pieli Classic he held on his tail than answering your rhetorical question. Foster however, was just greatly amused by your misfortune and you sigh at the lack of moral support you got from your partners.

Looking around while letting your woes drown in the deliciousness of your icy treat, you start feeling nostalgic as you remember your home town, Canalave City. You think of mom and dad and the rocky start you went through to go out and adventure with Gaspard, your first Pokémon. Foster wasn't quite following but you promise to tell the story later on along with the rest of your squad.

Finishing up your ice cream you decide that it's time to move on as you get up, camera in hand, ready to capture a few album-worthy shots. Pieli Harbour had a lot of inspiring material for a photographer, and you easily find yourself capturing many interesting scenes. A record breaking line for ice cream; the gleeful faces of small children riding various funfair rides like the Ponyta carrousel or the Caterpie train; the exact moment of impact as a sailor's Machop piledrives anothers Poliwhirl into the concrete, marking the end of an exciting battle; and many more.

"Eeeeeeeee! That is such an adorable Aipom!" you hear the startling shrill of a young beauty who rapidly approached you.

"Awww, look at him! So cute!" responded her no less impressive friend.

    "What's his name?"

    "Can I hug him?"

"Oh you have a camera! Can we take a picture with him?"

    "I wanna take him home!"

It seems Gaspard got some fans already! Foster in the other hand looked forever ignored and you could only wonder what kind of bitter, naughty thoughts ran through his mind.

    What will you do?

    ::Crater Lake::

jolteonjak: It had been a long hike up the mountain and you could already feel you were nearing the top. Your partner was a bit behind and as you check up on him you could see this was taking a lot more out of him than it did to you. It was understandable though, the higher you got, the lighter and colder the air did, and combined with the effort of climbing uphill it was enough to tire out anyone. For the small and short-legged Cyndaquil, it was probably twice as bad. You cheer him up with the promise of a safe haven to rest on being within reach and offer to carry him with you the rest of the way; an offer which he gladly took.

You resume your hiking and you start to feel anxious and excited as you recalled the stories told about the lake. However, the closer you got to your goal the more challenging did this test get and you had to make use of every resource to keep going on. That wasn't enough to stop you though as the mere sight of the summit being so close raises your morale and you keep on going faster and faster. Hanging on inside your backpack, the Cyndaquil was certainly enjoying the ride.

As you finally reach the top you lay on the floor out of breath, but happy. Your partner was equally joyous and gets off your bag not wanting to keep adding extra weight to your back. You stand up and you almost gasp at the sight that layed in front of you: a huge lake, pure blue in color, that you reckoned must be over a mile in diameter, yet clearly defined by the volcano's edge. A two-floor wooden lodge, old and humble in appearance, was not too far away from where you stood, near the edge of the lake. It looked big enough to hold a large group of travelers, but it didn't seem like it did so very often. You turn around to appreciate the panoramic view of the Central Plains before heading off to get some rest, taking a good look at the endless green which ran deep into the horizon and you make a mental note to better explore it later on.

You make way to the lodge's main entrance and was about to knock the door until it opened all by itself before you. In front of you stood a monster Quagsire, standing tall at about two and a half meters in height! You didn't remember your parents telling you about this! Your Pokédex didn't even register them getting so big but there it was, looking at you with a blank face.

    What will you do?

    ::Raikou's Effigy::

Nightfall715: You find yourself walking on an unusually foggy morning on south Whale Island in search for the ancient effigy of the legendary Raikou. Though the area wasn't of particular interest for you, you were pretty much dragged by force by your whimsical Purrloin who hoped to quench her curiosity and find some form of entertainment in the process. Sometimes it felt like you were her human rather than her being your Pokémon, but you were ok with that; you trusted Black and the feeling was mutual for her. Still, you can't help deleting the pictures taken by your partner who had the habit of taking your Pokédex and fiddle with its various applications; you never know when they might fall in the wrong hands after all.

Lost in your thoughts you're brought back to reality as Black gives you a wake-up slap and points west with a naughty grin. You turn around expecting the worst already but there was nothing to worry about, or at least not yet. It wasn't very clear, but you notice a large static silouette and as you near it the fog seems to almost magically disappear, allowing you a clear view of the majestic statue of Raikou, frozen in an intimidating roar that almost ran a chill down your spine. You felt something strange in the air and you got goosebumps as invisible tongues tickled your skin. Beside you Black had all hairs on end; an amusing sight but when she starts laughing at you you knew you probably didn't look all that different yourself!

You soon realize you're both not alone as Black points towards the stone statue and you notice a small Shinx resting under the thunder legend's shade. It suddenly wakes up and calmy looks up to you both with an inexpressive and unnerving glare. You wonder what's going to happen next as it walks forward and stands a small distance in front of you, gauging up your intentions; Black in turn returned the glare with interested eyes and set herself between you and the wild Pokémon. Talk about an awkward encounter, but you can feel things getting a bit tense here.

    What will you do?

    ::Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park::

Mon1010: It had been your dream to spend a nice vacation at Whale Island and now you found yourself making that dream come true as you arrive to the Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park, dressed up for the occasion and accompanied by your cute partner, Shaana. The park offered many fun rides and games, all of which you were sure to get good watery fun, as well as several other adrenaline-pumping activities. Yet, you weren't quite ready to be carrying your heart on your throat and instead you take it easy as you dive straight into the park's swimming pool; comfortably floating on your back after you resurface. The water had just the perfect level of coolness to provide absolute refreshment against the merciless heat of summer. You were definitely enjoying yourself and you share the feeling with your Munna who wasn't quite as interested in taking a bath, but was very happy that you at least were having fun.

You hear someone calling out to you, much to your surprise, and as you stand up your eyes meet those of a cute brunette on a yellow bikini. It seems a game of pool volleyball was about to start and they could use another person!

    What will you do?

"Alright then Gene, follow me." Jayce, and Gene the Metang, were finally nearing the South East end of Whale Island. The full moon shone above them shining with an eerie light. Jayce looked back towards Gene and he too seemed to glow eerily. His old trainer did say that he always like being polished but this glow seemed eerie.

Jayce had recently obtained Gene in a trade with another trainer and it was a good idea in Jayce's opinion. Gene seemed like a powerful Pokemon but it was really...interesting too. Gene has little motivation to do anything himself. Gene is the most obedient Pokemon Jayce had ever seen, which was a nice change from Snivy, who enjoyed tormenting and disobeying Jayce, unless it really mattered. It seems that Gene contents itself in doing whatever it's trainer wants. It was a little disturbing. Either way they continued on closing in on the Laguna Peninsula. Jayce checked his watch and it seemed that it was nearing midnight. Jayce could see a dock in the distance near the forest that encompassed most of the "Pirate Isle". Around there he could see gaping holes, likely dug by other people exploring who were looking for any possible treasure. He turned around to Gene and began to walk backward to ask, "Alright Gene, I'll ask you again. Where do you want to go?" Gene was unresponsive. Jayce sighed. He knew that Gene was able to communicate with soundwaves but... why didn't he? "Just point where you want to go will you please?"

Gene was unsure about this new trainer. It seemed odd to Gene that this trainer would ask for it's opinion so often. Gene wanted to go wherever Jayce wanted, it didn't care where they went. This trainer also seemed to have little experience compared to it's old one. Gene was wondering if it was better off with it's old trainer...

"Look Gene just point where you want to go..." Gene pointed at Jayce. "No...I'm not going anywhere until you show me where you want to go." Gene would have rolled it's eyes if it could. It had to get stuck with someone extremely stubborn. Ironic, since Gene was being just as stubborn as Jayce. However Gene finally pointed towards the edge of the island, outside of the forest. Jayce took in a deep breath and sighed with relief. "Thank you Gene... Now let's get going." So the duo were now going to begin the exploration of "Pirate Island". Jayce looked back at the path they had come from with unease. Not everyone who goes adventuring makes it back. He walked onward with Gene, hoping that he wouldn't be one of those people.

Fiona and Black we're walking amongst the fog, heading toward Raikou's Effigy. Sometimes, she felt as if she was the Pokémon and Black was the human! She kept on deleting the pictures Black took with the pokédex, the fog was making them blurry anyway. Black always had a odd sort of entertainment, and right now taking pictures was one of those times. Being shy didn't help the matter anyway.

Suddenly, black slapped her right in the face and pointed to The Effigy. Black was about to start taking pictures, but a small Shinx was staring right in front of them. Black looked up Shinx in the pokédex.

Fiona smiled, while Black started to stick out her tongue and insult the Shinx. Fiona was amazed on how well the Shinx was taking this, but Black was annoyed. Black gestured "I WANNA KILL THIS SHINX" But Fiona shook her head.

"Its cute," Fiona told Black with a whimper, grinning. "However, lets catch it."

Black looked dumbfounded, she would rather jump in a lake then be near that Shinx. After all, it was annoying Black. However, Black walked on down her shoulder, and got ready to fight. The Shinx appeared to have saw this coming and got ready too.

"Alright Black, use Scratch!" She ordered quietly, and black shot out her claws, in preparation to lunge.

Charlotte was staring into the magnificent sky draped over the East Coast, bathing in the salty fragrance of the ocean and the cry of the Wingulls circling the area, when she noticed a boy about her age approaching her. He was fairly good-looking; he had slightly tanned skin and jet-black hair, and was wearing a simple white t-shirt, shorts and sandals. Charlotte broke out from her trance and looked up at him, while Topaz shyly withdrew back into her Poke Ball.

"Hi there," he greeted her timidly, "I'm sorry, I just felt like talking to you. You have a very beautiful Vulpix there; I don't see those very often. My name's Phillip. Is this your first time here?"

For a moment, Charlotte wondered if he was a Pokemon thief, eyeing her precious Vulpix, waiting for the right moment to snatch her from her hands and take her back to his hideout, where she would be examined and sold on the black market. She instinctively brought Flare closer to her side, but she then noticed the boy's eyes, and how genuine they looked. She decided that she was just being too paranoid, and relaxed, smiling at the boy. She didn't really like talking to strangers - she didn't really make friends with strangers easily, let alone engage in a conversation with them - but she decided to act friendly just this once.

"Yeah, this is my first time here," Charlotte replied, looking up at the boy. "I'm just checking out the Pieli Harbour right now. To be honest, I only came here for an ice cream!" she added with a laugh. It was true though - the only reason she really came here was because she wanted to taste the legendary Classic Pieli, however jaw-droppingly expensive it was. The boy didn't seem suspicious at all now, and she decided to fully let her guard down and get herself acquainted with the boy. After all, he looked like a local, meaning that maybe he could help her with the sightseeing.

"I'm Charlotte, by the way," she continued, "and my Vulpix over here is Flare. She's my Starter Pokemon, I've been with her since way back when she'd barely hatched from her Egg. Her mother was my mother's Ninetales, you see. So, are you a resident here? Or are you a tourist like me?"

(OoC: Well this just got... awkward.)

Mon1010: It had been your dream to spend a nice vacation at Whale Island and now you found yourself making that dream come true as you arrive at the Wet 'n' Wild Recreation Park, dressed up for the occasion, and accompanied by your cute partner, Shaana. The park offered many fun rides and games, all of which were sure to be good watery fun, as well as several other adrenaline pumping activities. Yet, you weren't quite ready to be carrying your heart on your throat, and instead take it easy as you dive straight into the park's swimming pool; comfortably floating on your back after you resurface. The water had the perfect level of coolness to provide absolute refreshment against the merciless heat of summer. You were definitely enjoying yourself and you share the feeling with your Munna who wasn't quite as interested in taking a bath but was very happy that you were at least having fun.

You hear someone calling out to you, much to your surprise, and as you stand up, your eyes meet those of a cute brunette on a yellow bikini. It seems a game of pool volleyball was about to start, and they could use another person!

    What will you do?
Scott floated around lazily in the pool, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. Suddenly, mood was broken by some noise. He could've sworn he heard the sound of someone calling out to him. He stands up to get his ears out of the water, and see if what he thought he heard was true, or if he was just hearing things. Lo and behold, someone was calling him. His eyes met a brunette girl wearing a yellow bikini. Apparently, a game of pool volleyball was just about to start, and they could use another person.

Scott had to think about this for a second. He wasn't very good at land volleyball (or sports in general for that matter,) and he wasn't sure how he'd fare in the water. He wasn't a fan of making a fool of himself in front of strangers. Still, he was on vacation. What did he have to lose? He shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, sure why not." He smiled politelty and introduced himself. "My name's Scott by the way. And this is my partner Shaana." He said, pointing to the Munna who was now sitting on his head. Unbeknownst to Scott, the Munna was giving the girl an angry look for some reason.

uhhhh: You curse your sense of direction as you find yourself hopelessly lost in Pieli Harbour.

Finishing up your ice cream you decide it's time that it's time to move on as you get up, camera in hand, ready to capture a few album-worthy shots.

Even though Connor had ended up on the wrong harbor, wanting to go to Delphin Harbor and take photos there instead, he still managed to get good photos for his portfolio in Pieli Harbor. The photographer wandered around the area looking for some good areas to take photos of. He went back to the ice cream store to see that the line for the ice cream got extremely long.

"Whoa! That's a pretty long line! I know the ice cream's delicious but is it really THAT tasty?" Connor, said as he was surprised at how long the line was along with Gaspard and Foster, staring at the long line of people and pokemon who wanted a scoop of the harbor's famous ice cream. "You know, I wonder which one would taste better, a classic Pieli, or a Casteliacone?" Connor wondered about that as he took some photos of the line and went on.

Connor's second stop was some funfair rides, particularly the Ponyta carousel and the Caterpie train as he saw children riding on them and were having a good time. Connor smiled at the sight and thought to take photos of them as well. Gaspard seemed to want a ride on the carousel, "Hehe, we'll ride there later okay Gaspard? I still want to see more of the place," Gaspard nodded with his signature toothy grin. Foster was thinking of pranking some kids but Connor and Gaspard quickly stopped him.

His third stop was at a battlefield with a Machop and a Poliwhirl fighting each other. Connor has seen machops before back at Sinnoh but was unfamiliar at the poliwhirl. He then took out his Pokedex to scan both.

"I see... this looks to be an interesting battle," he said as he focused his camera on the match. He was reminded of his loss against a trainer named Blaze with his Buneary and decided to take some notes on his head as well for future strategies. He saw Gaspard's sad expression as the monkey was probably remembering the same thing, "It's all right Gaspard. We win some, we lose some. That's the way life goes. We'll just have to try and win the next battle next time alright?" he said as he patted Gaspard's head, assuring him. When he turned to see the battle again and saw the Machop piledriving the Poliwhirl into the concrete, he saw that as a good photo opportunity and quickly took a snapshot of it.

Connor went around the harbor some more and after taking a lot of good-quality photos decided to take a break from photography. "Wow, this place isn't bad at all! I've got myself some pretty cool photos here!" Connor said as he was looking at the various pictures he had made throughout the day on his camera when suddenly:

"Eeeeeeeee! That is such an adorable Aipom!" a startling shrill of a young beauty was heard who rapidly approached Gaspard.

"Awww, look at him! So cute!" responded her no less impressive friend.

    "What's his name?"

    "Can I hug him?"

"Oh you have a camera! Can we take a picture with him?"

    "I wanna take him home!"

Connor was stunned for a moment after seeing the two beauties approach him, admiring his Aipom. It was when he saw Foster probably thinking of something negative for ignoring him that he got back to his senses. "No Foster, don't do anything to them," he said to Foster who reluctantly obliged. Gaspard was feeling quite flustered and was blushing at the two ladies were saying to him.

"Err... excuse me ladies,' he said while still trying to get his composure back, "His name's Gaspard, you'll have to ask him on that one, and sure I'll take a picture of you three, again, if he doesn't mind, I'll have to say no on the last one though, hehe" he said jokingly, "So Gapsard, want to take a picture with them?" Gaspard nodded. "Alright then! I guess I could take one more photo. By the way, my name's Connor, an aspiring photographer. What are your names?" he asked the two ladies.

Chad slowly approached the lodge, as he was tired from the climb. He noticed the lodge had begun to show signs of its age. He stopped for a moment and thought, 'As long as there is a bed or couch in there to lay on, I'll be satisfied.' Chad looked off to the side of the lodge. There was the lake. It was massive in diameter, larger than any lake he'd seen back at home. The water was like a mirror, the same blue color seen in a cloudless sky.

"Look at this Cyndaquil!" Chad exclaimed. Cyndaquil didn't seem so impressed. "Do you think you'd like to go swimming later on? Wait, can you go in water?" Although, Chad had Cyndaquil for months now, he realized he still had more to learn about his partner. He looked down to his little mouse, who looked back up. Cyndaquil tilted his head to the side. "The last thing I want to do is harm you. Maybe the Pokedex can give me some information. I'll be sure to look at your entry, perhaps under recreation, while we relax inside."

Chad arrived at the lodge's main entrance now. "Hey, I bet Heracross will enjoy this. He's been working pretty hard at the Training Center to learn a new attack. Plus it will give you two a chance to become better acquainted," Chad looked down again to Cyndaquil. "He, only recently, has begun to start trusting me. We'll have to take our time with him, so he doesn't attack you or anyone else." Cyndaquil squeaked. "It'll be fine. You're awesome. Why wouldn't he like you?" Chad looked around once more. "Let's go in and sit down."

Just as Chad reached for the door knocker, the door suddenly opened. In the doorway he could see a large light blue blob with legs and fins. "Oh. Hello there," Chad said to it. He reached into his pocket for his Pokedex and scanned the creature before him.

Chad put his Pokedex back in his pocket. Clearly this Quagsire was much larger than normal. He and Cyndaquil looked up at the beast. "Well Quagsire, looks like someone had their vitamins," he said chuckling nervously. He looked at Quagsire, who was staring at Chad blankly. "You see, um, I just climbed to the top of this volcano because I wanted to see the lake. My parents had told me so much about it. May I come inside and rest up a bit?" Chad paused and added, "Please?"

    Areas:
Ampere Beach: The largest stretch of coastal sand in all of Fizzy Bubbles, Ampere Beach is famed for its sand which contains a mild electrical current that soothes the body. This charge is the result of the high salinity content, combined with the naturally high electricity from the central regions, providing an earthing ground for the static. As a result, the beach is often used in therapeutics, evident by the resort known as Pieli Harbour.
Whale Island. Whether or not Hyrem was going to find any whales here... well, in reality that didn't concern him at all. He was more focused on his newest friend, Seedot. He wasn't sure what attracted him to the Acorn Pokemon, but something did. Enough so, that he adopted this one.

Even now, Ralts was still unsure about Seedot, at least as far as he could tell. You see, Ralts had been trying to figure out Seedot's emotions ever since she was adopted. But so far, nothing... either Seedot was really good at hiding her feelings, or they just weren't there. Or it could be the faint electrical current Ampere Beach was giving off providing interference, there was just no way to know for sure. Ralts expressed her frustration to Hyrem by putting a deep, dark red color inside his mind. and saying "Ra ralts ralts!" while waving her little arms in the air.

"Yeah, I hear ya," Hyrem said back. Hyrem could understand what Ralts was thinking; he had a tough time figuring out Seedot himself when all he had to work with was a blank stare. All of a sudden, Seedot started jumping up and down, alternating which foot it landed on, as if it were a dance of some sort. "Seed seed seedot! Seed seed seedot!"

"Heh, so you like to dance, huh?" said Hyrem. He got his Pokedex out; maybe it would tell him something more about Seedot.

Seedot, the Acorn Pokemon. They like to attach themselves to tree branches to absorb moisture and nutrients. While doing so, they look exactly like acorns if they remain still. When they move, they startle others close by, and it's a good form of entertainment to them.

"So, you like trees, huh?" Hyrem looked around. Ampere Beach looked like nothing but sand and surf, from where they were right now. He figured, however, that there had to be a palm tree somewhere on this huge beach. "All right, I think we should find a tree for Seedot to attach to. It'll also give us a good place to relax. Until then, Seedot, you'll stay in your Pokeball so you'll be safe. Now return!"

Seedot turned into a red light and disappeared inside its Pokeball. Once that was done, Hyrem took Ralts into his arms and walked along the beach, looking for the closest tree for Seedot to latch on.

Having read about this spot in the brochure on his journey over, Andy knew the first place he wanted to visit.
Sure enough, as soon as the boat had arrived in Pieli Harbour he'd wasted no time in seeking out his destination. He remember staring in awe at the vast stretch of coast before him. He could feel the crackle of static electricity in the air, making his hairs stand on end, or perhaps that was his own sense of anticipation.
Before you could say "public indecency" Andy had stripped down to a pair of shorts, and had thrown himself down onto the beach.

    "This... is the life"

Andy lay spreadeagled on the beach, almost melting into the tingly, electrified sand. The collection of aches and pains he had amassed on his journey seemed to drain away from him, leaving him feeling relaxed and refreshed. At his side Sheldon also seemed to be experiencing the benefits of Ampere Beach.

    "Tuuuuuuur" it sighed, blissfully.

"We've earned this," Said Andy to his trusty companion, "it feels like forever since we first set out together, and we've barely stopped since then. We should enjoy this whilst we can."

The Turtwig let out another sound of contentment and attempted to roll onto his back to match his trainers position. After failing in his attempts, a mixture of his shell being in the way and just being too darn comfortable where he already was, Sheldon nestled himself into the sand and fell asleep.

Andy smiled, looking at his Pokemon. He knew they hadn't really been together that long, practically only a few months compared to most Trainers who recieved their first Pokemon on their tenth birthday, but he couldn't help but feel as though they'd both grown since their jounrey began and now he found it hard to remember a time when they weren't together.
It was during this though that Andy realised his own eyes were growing heavy. He let them close, basking in the feeling of the warm sun and the soothing sands.

"A little nap should be fine. Just five minutes...."

Apologies uhhhh. Will update you for next week, but worry not, things will get exciting from now on. /evilgrin

    ::Pieli Harbour::

Flame Mistress: As the fact of being a victim of theft starts to sink down on your mind, you start swelling up with anger as your head is filled with all kinds of profanities and insults known to you, along with some others discovered in the spur of the moment. Though you kept your thoughts to yourself, anyone passing by could probably easily tell how distressed you were as you stood there throwing a repressed tantrum. You were certain it was Phillip who had played this horrible trick on you, even if you did not see him do it, and you were sure you would at least cause him great harm if you would ever find the boy again.

You start walking aimlessly as the thought ran wild on your mind, and beside you Flare looked up at you with concern. Finding yourself back at the same bench you had been to, you sit down and bury your head into your hands, completely at a loss of what to do next. Flare tried to comfort you snuggling up to you; while she too was sad and worried for her missing partners, what hurt her the most was to see you in pain. Yet, you wouldn't respond, you had practically lost everything now, what else could you do?

Your prayers seem to be answered however, as Flare suddenly senses something. Making full use of her sense of smell, the Vulpix hops off the bench and starts looking for the source of the familiar smell. As you follow your movements with your eyes, you end up turning around and see a Meowth a short distance away, barely visible behind some of the few patches of greenery along the way, holding a Heart Scale within its mouth. Flare frowns and barks before dashing towards the cat Pokémon, who wastes not an instant to flee from the Fire-type. Gauging by the way Flare reacted to the wild Meowth, it may have been related in some way with your stolen goods, and seeing how you found yourself at a loss, Flare has apparently decided to take matters into her own paws.

    What will you do?

    ::Crater Lake::

jolteonjak: With the old man walking off to tend to his own duties, you decide to check out your own room upstairs. Grabbing the appropriate key from behind the counter as instructed, you head upstairs while promising your partner a nice walk outside later on along with your other Pokémon. Entering the second room to the right, you find yourself within a moderately small space, and conservatively furnished with a medium-sized bed, a table with an electric lamp, and a thick curtain covering a large window with an amazing view of the lake. In a flash you throw yourself and your bag on to the bed, feeling instant gratification from the matress's firm support and the cozy softness of its cotton blanket.

Having relaxed for a good while, you get off your bed before sleep could get the better of you, waking up your groggy Cindaquil in the process. You walk downstairs and you see Pedro still standing beside the entrance, almost as if he was paralyzed in time like some statue. Taking a notebook out of your pocket, you take the elder's words to heart and try your best to communicate to the Quagsire in what you think would be his own language, Spanish; explaining how much you would like to walk outside and better explore the area as you did. Much to your surprise, Pedro immediately nods in understanding and starts waving goodbye to you; a response far more positive than anything you had gotten from him so far. As amusing and bizarre as it sounds, perhaps the wild water fish really does know Spanish for some unknown reason after all.

Once outside you start walking near the edge of the lake, marvelling at its beauty. Its pristine waters allowed you to see in detail the soil beneath the surface, stretching far and deep into a dark blue abyss. A cry from above calls your attention, and as you look upwards you could see the silouette of an imposing Braviary, soaring the skies in search of prey. A part of you hoped it didn't see you as such.

Finally finding a good spot to stop, you reach for one of your Pokéballs and toss it into the air; the red and white orb bursting mid-air in a flash of light as it releases the gutsy horned-beetle, Heracross. Cyndaquil is quick to greet his newly met partner as it walks up to him; the Bug Pokémon instinctively stepping back in apprehension of the fire mouse. Ordering your Cyndaquil to extinguish his open flames, you apologize to Heracross who seems to calm down a bit, though still remaining wary and distrustful of the Fire-type.

Calling out to the both of them, you decide it's time to keep exploring and they both nod in agreement, one more enthusiastically then the other. You wouldn't get much of a chance to travel far however, as you spot a pair of Wooper suddenly jump out of the lake, hopping excitedly towards you with big gaping smiles on their faces. You gather they could probably want to play with you a little as they keep jumping up and down like hyperactive Spoink, crying their names repeatedly. One of them abruptly frowns and smirks mischieveously however, and forcefully squirts a Water Gun to your Heracross's face, knocking him over to his back. How low! It seems these Wooper like playing rough, and the question now is on whether you wan to "play" along.

    What will you do?

I think you over did it a bit too much here, not with Heracross's intro since I do like you writing all you can to develop his character, but rather with the other actions as they do count as self updating. How do you know nothing would've happened in the thirty or so minutes you went to rest, or that nobody would already be there when you reached your room? How would you know Pedro would still be there when you got back down (very likely since he's just that...special, but you get the point)? Still, it's not a big deal, so I'm running with it.

    ::Raikou's Effigy::

Nightfall715: Having lost track of your Pokémon in the heat of the moment, you call forth for another companion, Lucifer, the Houndour. Though young and inexperienced, the pup had quite the strong personality and almost immediately started dominantly ripping nearby plants in an attempt to look as frightening as he could be. You firmly call to his attention however, to which he settled down and listened attentively. Having given your instructions, the Fire-type scampers immediately in search of the missing Black, using his sensitive sense of smell to track down the familiar scent of the Purrloin. You turn to the man and quickly tell him to follow along before running off with Lucifer.

"W-wait, wait! Ugh, fine!" he uttered between his teeth, quickly adjusting his large circular glasses and picking up his gear before catching up to you.

The mist made visibility horrible for you, but you only needed to follow the lead of your Pokémon. You could tell you were now within the outer limits of the surrounding forest. You're halted to a sudden stop however as you encounter a pair of burly men from out of the mist, them both accompanied by Bidoofs by their side. They both look shocked to see you and it's as if they weren't expecting, nor did they want anyone to see them.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing!" Yells one as he catches sight of you. "Stop right there!"

You had read about incidences of illegal logging in the area, and chances are they might be up to no good. Though they don't know this, they now stand between yourself and your Pokémon. Perhaps if you play your cards right you may avoid giving off the wrong impresion and move on without any confrontation.

    What will you do?

Nightfall, while I don't feel I should criticize anyone's writing style, I would like just a little bit more effort from you if possible. Rather than copy-pasting segments from what I write, try to paraphrase in your own words, and maybe even add a bit more detail on your thoughts at what is happening. That can only help you as it gives me more info about you to work on. Just my two cents. ^^

    ::The Lighthouse::

Marion Ette: Ambushed by a swarm of Rattatta which seemingly popped out of nowhere, you question out loud the veracity of your current situation as your suspension of disbelief is shattered to pieces. Logic dictates that they couldn't appear just like that and Sangre himself would've noticed from the start even if they had been hiding behind the walls. Even so, if this was an illusion it was a pretty damn good one as it appealed to each and every of your relevant senses.

August and Sangre don't take any chances themselves as the both take the initiative and waste not a second to protect their friend and master; they knew through experience and love that this wasn't the time to be idly waiting for orders. Quickly taking action, Sangre begins by flashing a widespread Confuse Ray in an attempt to stun and confuse the rats; August covering your eyes and protectively embracing you to shield you from all harm. Though unable to see, you could hear it apparently working wonders as the Rattatta all started stumbling against one another in a chaotic mess.

Following up, August proceeds to blast them apart by powerfully blowing with her mighty wings not one, but two devastating Twisters. All hell breaks loose as you find yourself immersed in a thunderous cacophony composed by the howling winds, shrieking Rattatta, and the clash of various unknown objects crashing and breaking against one another from wall to wall. Almost as soon as it started, it was over.

Absolute silence reigned once again as you soon as the storm ceased. Any audible signs of Rattatta remaining on the room vanished just as suddenly as it had happened. You start hearing the cackling noise of electricity as loose wires made contact with something, but then, almost by art of magic, they stop and the generators start running again as if nothing had happened. How was this possible eluded you, but you didn't get much of a chance to think about it as you hear a voice coming from the opposite obscure end of the basement.

"Well, well, aren't you a tough one?" It says in an inhuman tongue, and you could recognize to a Ghost Pokémon, a Haunter, if your memory served you right. Despite the fact that it spoke an entirely different language, your familiarity with ghosts allowed you to understand it... and it seemed to be aware of that somehow as it spoke to you so casually.

"Where you scared?" It continued. "I hope so; my pranks have been losing their edge lately and I fear they're not as terrifying as they used to be... Oh, where are my manners, by the way? Here, allow me to brighten things up for you a bit."

You see four Will-O-Whisps suddenly pop up and move about slowly to each corner of the room, allowing you clear sight of the gaseous body of a Haunter, staring at you with a naughty smile. The floor was filled with tons of wodden debris, broken glass and twisted metal scattered all over the place, but nary a single Rattatta in sight. The two large, metallic engines look unscathed, and while you were pretty sure they had taken some punishment moments ago, they didn't show any evidence of that anymore, somehow. On close inspection, you notice the floor painted white with a large rune, similar to the one carved on the bedroom's desk.

Whatever this all meant you now had someone who could perhaps provide some answers. Whether this was friend or foe though, you had yet to determine.

    What will you do?

    ::Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park::

Mon1010: It was settled, you agreed to come over and have some lunch with your new found friends; what could possibly go wrong? Even Shaana approved, though she still had reservations towards Alice, feeling jealousy towards the amount of attention she was giving you.

Finally getting off the pool after exchanging a few introductionary words, you all pick your stuff before heading off to the nearby park's restaurant. It was only a short walk from the pool you were in, and, as expected, the outdoor and wooden-furnished dining area was saturated with of people. Fortunate had it that a family had just about finished eating however, leaving a messy but free table for all of you to use; a waitress kindly cleaning it up as soon you all took seat. It seemed the fabled Tony was nowhere in sight yet, but surely he would show up eventually. Meanwhile, the rest of the group made their respective orders and you yourself browse the menu as you overview the relatively limited but delicious looking options of hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes. Alice, Pete and Lucy had all seemed to have taken great interest in you in the short while you known them as they dish out question after question regarding your life, hobbies, tastes and work; looking especially amazed after listening about the details regarding your assistant duties with Professor Fennel. The service was taking ages to get the food ready to you all, and understandably so, but it didn't matter so much as time flew past with such a pleasant talk.

"Hey! 'Bout time you got here man!" Pete suddenly exclaimed cutting you short and just as the food was being served. You turn around and you see another man, mid-stature but in exceedingly good shape, dressing appropriately with a grey tank top, black trunks, sunglasses and sandals; his shaved head adding a layer of thoughness to his already impressive build. He gives a short upward nod in response before dropping to a chair next to Alice while taking another sip from his cold bottle of beer. Looking at you curiously with a smug grin, he turns then turns to Pete. "Who's that?" he asks ungraciously.

"That, would be Scott," he replied, frowning a little bit. "He's from Straiton... You ok, by the way?"

"Huh? Is that so?" Tony looked back at you, not really listening to Pete's last bit.

"Yeah, Alice met him back at the pool and brought him over; he's pretty chill." Pete continued. Tony nods slowly, carefully observing both you and your Munna and you could feel a bit of disdain in his expression.

"Come, we have to talk," he turned to Alice as he suddenly got back up to his feet.

"There's nothing I want to talk about that can't be said here, Anthony," she responded, her once joyful expression having changed to one of annoyance. "The hell's wrong with you, again?"

"Move!" he exclaimed harshly, grabbing Alice's shoulder and things start getting heated up as she keeps putting up some resistance, Pete and Lucy both calling out to him repeatedly at the same time. The way things are escalating you will probably be involved in some ugly drama.

    What will you do?

For some weird reason I d'awwed at "Flare has apparently decided to take matters into her own paws". Hehe.

"Flare, it's mean to bark at wild Pokemon like that!" Charlotte exclaimed, scooping Flare up into her arms. "It's very rude, even if you don't like the Meowth, that's bad manners, you should know that..."

Cogs started to turn inside Charlotte's head. The way Flare barked at the wild Meowth... could it have been related to her stolen goods? Perhaps the Heart Scale the Meowth had been holding had been hers? But she didn't exactly remember there being a Heart Scale in her bag, even though it could be that she just hadn't seen it within the pile of messed up items in her bag... She wondered if Flare had decided to look for the stolen goods and her missing teammates by herself. She couldn't help but feel proud at that; her little baby girl was finally growing up... Well... not exactly, but it was the closest thing.

Flare prodded Charlotte's chest with her paw, and Charlotte looked down at the Fox Pokemon. "What, you want to follow the Meowth?" she asked. Flare nodded eagerly. Flare must have taken the matters into her own paws, there was no mistake in that. Charlotte nodded in response, and let Flare down onto the ground. Immediately, Flare rushed off at the speed of light down the street. "Hey! Wait up!" Charlotte yelled desperately, trying to keep up with her speedy Vulpix with what little strength she had left. She hadn't noticed that she was so tired; it must have been all the fuss in the last few hours.

"Say, Flare," Charlotte panted breathlessly when she finally caught up with the still energetic Flare, "if we do find the Meowth... how about we battle it, huh? IT would be fun, don't you think? If maybe, just maybe, we do end up battling that Meowth, use Heat Wave then Crossfire, okay? Make it simple."

It had only been a few hours since her arrival at Pieli Harbour, yet she already found herself in trouble... Not that it wasn't to be expected.

    OOC: Sorry about that. That didn't occur to me. I really wanted to say something to Pedro (yah, I'm weird like that). I hope I didn't screw your plans up too badly! ^^;

Once Cyndaquil and Heracross had begun to be civil to each other, Chad decided it was time to move on with their exploring. He was worried about Heracross, though. Would he run off? Would he even obey and come back should he run?

Almost instantly after beginning to walk away, the trio's attention was drawn to the lake as two creatures jump out. The creatures spotted Chad and his friends, and they hopped over to them. Chad stopped walking, as did his Pokemon. Heracross immediately assumed a fighting stance. Chad wasn't sure whether or not they were friendly, but seeing the wide smiles on their faces told him they may not be dangerous. He put his hand on Heracross' shoulder, "Easy big guy. I don't think they want a fight. Let's see who they are." He took his Pokedex out of his pocket and scanned them:

"I hope their skin isn't too poisonous to humans, should they touch me," Chad said to himself. When the Wooper got a little closer to them, they started jumping up and down crazily like their feet had springs in them. They were also speaking their names repeatedly as if they wanted something. "I think maybe they want to play," Chad looked at Heracross and Cyndaquil on either side of him. Cyndaquil stepped forward inquisitively looking at the pair of water fish.

Chad noticed one of the Wooper had a sly smile on its face. He thought maybe it was up to something. As if on cue, the Wooper fired a Water Gun towards them, and it hit Heracross in the face. The force and the shock of it all caused Heracross to fall on its back.

"Cross! Hera, he cross!" Heracross frantically cried flailing around on the ground. He was struggling being on his back. Chad and Cyndaquil ran over to his aid, the latter making sure his flames were extinguished. Chad reached out his hands to Heracross to help him up.

"Are you ok buddy?" he asked concerned. After finally standing his insect up, he took out a handkerchief from his pocket to wipe some of the water off Heracross' face. "There you go."

Heracross raised his arm as if to push Chad aside, and he stepped forward growling in a low tone, "Crrrrrrosssss." Chad could certainly tell Heracross was angry.

'Maybe they don't want to play?' Chad thought to himself, wondering what the Wooper's intent was. All of a sudden, Chad remembered Pedro in the lodge. 'Did Pedro know these two? If we attack would Pedro find out somehow and defend the Wooper?' He remembered the book in his back pocket. He took it out and started flipping through the pages frantically. 'Maybe these two only understand Spanish like Pedro. I have to try.'

"żPor qué hiciste eso a él, Wooper? No queremos que te ataque," Chad said, attempting to speak Spanish again, still poorly as before. "żUstedes dos quieren jugar un juego?" he asked, hoping for the best.

Even though Chad knew Heracross was itching to fight these two, he worried Pedro would overhear the scuffle. That was one Pokemon whose bad side he did not want to get on. Nevertheless, if the Wooper didn't listen to reason, he would have to defend himself. "Ok, listen up you two. If we have to battle them, I want you both to work together. Heracross, boost your defenses right away with Iron Defense while Leering at the one who attacked you. Finally attack with Horn Attack. Cyndaquil, attack the other one with Extrasensory followed by Hidden Power. If it gets close to you at all use Double Kick."

Alright then...time for me to get on my creative style!

Sylvia ran off, with Lucifer in full pursuit. Lucifer was pretty good at hunting things down, so this should be a snap. The Houndour bared his teeth in a sneer, and took off at full speed. In the distance, she could hear the mans voice.

"W-wait, wait! Ugh, fine!" The man was calling, obviously desperate to catch up.

In the fog, Sylvia could barely see anything. The mist was too thick. She kept constantly bumping into trees.

After a bit, the fog began to clear a bit, and they could make out two figures with some other smaller figures in the fog. Thinking it was the two pokemon, Sylvia dashed ahead.

    But it wasn't her pokémon.

It was two men, and they looked a bit like poachers. Two bidoof accompanied them. Sylvia stopped dead in her tracks, while Lucifer went into a low growl. The man that was following you finnaly caught up, face in awe.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing!" Hollars the first, having a little fear in his voice. Sylvia then knew right then and there that they were 'probably' poachers, as who else would say that? They clearly wern't the sharpest tools in the shed... "Stop right there!"

Sylvia knew they would have to fight. She looked at the man behind he, still mouth open in awe.

"Do you have any pokémon of your own?" Asked Sylvia, fear gone. "We have to fight."

Without waiting for an answer, she called out to Lucifer -

"Fire Spin, at as many Bidoof as you can!"

Default Whale Island Adventures: Batch 7

Kinda late, but here it is. Anyone left behind, I'm moving to next week, as per usual. Also, welcome to treecko's awesomeness. Hope you'll have a lot of fun here.

    ::Pieli Harbour::

MarbleZone: Deprived of the ice creamy goodness, you start walking away in dissapointment. First the incident at Glacier Islands and now this; it was as if misfortune followed wherever you went, and Minccino, well, it would be hard to convince her that this particular incident wasn't related to you in one way or another. Taking barely a few steps however you find yourself unable to leave altogether as your thoughts turned to the poor and unconsolable women and children who were left bereft of the dessert of their dreams. Your instinct told you something was very odd about all of this and you figured that if you could help out somehow, the possibility of free ice cream as a reward could vey well amend things between yourself and your Pokémon.

Making way through the riotous crowd, you walk up to the employee, a task that required quite a bit of effort as you found yourself shoved and elbowed all the way. The man certainly seemed to have a handful as he tried to deal with the situation, but you still try to call out for his attention regardless. Though initially too overwhelmed to even listen to you, he eventually turns to you as you explain your intention to help out with whatever was the problem, making sure to stress the fact that you are an official Pokémon League trainer to give you some authority on the matter.

"A League trainer? Did the guild sent you here? Oh thank goodness, you guys work fast! Please meet me in the back in a minute." He said in relief. "My boss was gonna make a popsicle out of me if I didn't get this sorted out, phew! I would owe my life to you, man! Hey Jimmy! Cover me up, will ya?" He yelled to the back as he retreated in a hurry; another young employee taking his place to deal with the angry customers.

It seems something indeed had happened here, and apparently they had already called in for help. Whether you would be that help though, was up to you, though chances are there's another trainer in his way that may not enjoy you stealing his job.

jolteonjak: Caught by surprise by a pair of Wooper, you wonder just why would they do this to you as you run to Heracross's aid, the Bug-type looking as pissed as anyone would after being caught offguard like that. You were hesitant to strike back however, as you thoughts turned to the massive Quagsire back at the lodge. That was certainly a Pokémon you didn't want to mess with, and if these Wooper were related to it, then this could mean some greater trouble ahead.

Taking your dictionary out again, you try to reason with them in a language you think they might understand, but as you see one Wooper laugh out loud at you while the other just comments to his friend with a supressed giggle, it is made very clear that they were not taking you seriously. Pretty sure that this would turn into a fight, you issue combat orders to your Pokémon, and both of them nod in understanding as they get ready for action; Heracross in particular looking eager to get back at the fishy duo. The Wooper take the initiative however, as they quickly nod to each other before simultaneously squirting a Water Gun towards your Pokémon; Heracross enduring the attack pretty well as his body glows and hardens like Iron, drastically boosting his Defense in the process; Cyndaquil, on the other hand, was not taking the super-effective hit nearly as well as you hear him squeal in pain.

The Wooper seemed to be getting great enjoyment from this, but their expressions change completely all of a sudden as they find themselves being given a terrifying Leer from the irate Heracross; the horned beetle charging to one fo the Wooper, hovering at high speed with a might Horn Attack while the recovering Cyndaquil counters with his Extrasensory, the golden beam of psychic energy sending the other Wooper into a sensory overdrive while his friend is sent flying a few feet back from the impact of the Bug-type's flying headbutt.

Quickly getting back to their feet, the Wooper spring back to action, targeting what was literally the biggest threat to them as they both fire their Water Guns at Heracross's feet, the combined attack forcing him once again to loose his balance as he face-plants down into the now muddy ground underneath. They wouldn't get to celebrate much however, as one of them finds itself victim of Cyndaquil's Hidden Power, the various orbs of grass energy bursting into the mud-fish for some serious damage, and making it very clear to them that it was the Fire-type who they should truly watch out for.

Avenging his friend, the other Wooper retaliates with yet another Water Gun which Cyndaquil barely manages to side-step in time. He isn't quite nimble for the other one as he finds himself taking a final Water Gun full-on from the wounded Wooper, who looks quite happy after exacting his just revenge.

Things were looking kinda even for now. The Wooper seemed to know how to work roughly as a team, though overall their side was looking in worse conditions, the Hidden Power having taken a lot from one of them. The battle had only just started though, and whether you would face the wrath of Quagsire sooner or later, you could only hope you could avoid altogether.

    ::Laguna Lake::

treecko's awesomeness: Sure enough you were quite amazed as you stood on the border edge of Pirate Isle's Laguna Lake. Compared to the likes of Crater and Brumby, this was one of the smaller lakes within the Island, but it was very rich in life as it layed mostly untouched by man and surrouned by the peninsula's forest. Like its younger sister, Kakatua Lagoon, it too was separated from the ocean by a large reef of sand, and yet, unlike Kakatua, its fresh and clear waters were far less secluded and much deeper.

You wonder where to even begin exploring and you turn to your partner, Nav, for his opinion on the matter, the Treecko only shrugging in response as he found himself too busy splashing around the lake's bank. Looking around the area for anything that would help you make up your mind, you ultimately decide to simply start walking clockwise along the edge of the lake. Surely, it wouldn't matter too much which way you chose as the view would remain always just a viewtiful; the forest would sing just the same with the howls of the curious treetop Aipom and the chirps of the various bird Pokémon, and the water Pokémon would probably all hide beneath the safety of the surface throughout until properly incentivated. Yet, there was something therapeutical on the mere act of walking in this place, and that's all that mattered. There's a reason why people often come here to picnic. Things didn't remain so calm for long however as barely five minutes into your walk you suddenly hear a warning cry from above, and just as you turn to its source you see the figure of a Spearow, diving at top speed and barely grazing Nav who managed to duck to safety just in time. As you see Spearow gaining height and turning around towards you, it is made very clear that's it's still not done with you yet. Whether it attacked out of territorial behavior or whether it looked at your partner as food, this certainly isn't the most favorable matchup for you. Perhaps you shouldn't have taken the left?

    ::Raikou's Effigy::

Nightfall715: You weren't one to be taking any chances with strangers like these, and instead you choose to take the initiative and strike first, fierce and fast. You quickly ask your newly met acquiantance if he had any Pokémon of his own, and he still seemed to be processing the whole situation as you immediately move on to command the fiery pup, who wastes not a second as he starts intensely breathing out a hellish vortex of flame, if at least as "hellish" as the young Houndour could muster, his Fire Spin trapping one of the Bidoof within which squeals in surprise and terror.

"She's insane!" exclaimed one, as he saw the surroundings starting to catch on fire from Lucifer's attack. A flame tornado within a forest could only spell trouble.

"They can't be of the WICS! Bieber, stop that thing! Stop it now!" the other one commanded, and his Bidoof obeyed as it started rushing towards Lucifer, attempting to knock it down with its Tackle. Lucifer grunts as he's pushed back a bit by the gutsy Bidoof, and he then turns his attention towards it, breathing another Fire Spin all over it; the Bidoof breaking through flames and scorching its fur in the process as it rams against the Dark-type with another Tackle.

"You've gotta be kidding me... Damn it, Mimi, we need your help!" says your shaggy comanion as he releases his own Pokémon unto the field, a small Panpour who springs to action right away, attempting to prevent the start of a massive forest fire, dousing the area with its Water Sport in a desperate attempt to cool off the place. It seems to work as the fire tornadoes start dying off, much to the Bidoof's relief.

"Geez... Ok listen, I know your Pokémon just went running on you and all, but try to focus for a bit and not burn the whole forest, alright? We'll sort things out later," he turned to you. "Alright Mimi, let's get it going and show these men what your Water Gun is all about!" he then commanded to his partner.

With the inevitable battle underway, and a forest fire under control for now, you're fortunately getting some aid from the still unknown man. He seems more concerned about keeping the environment safe than to win the battle, but at least you're not on your own against these shady looking men. It wasn't quite over yet though.

    ::The Lighthouse::

Marion Ette: A part of you knew the great danger you were getting yourself into, and moreso did August who got more and more anxious with each passing second, whereas Sangre... well, he was just too busy dreaming of the beautiful slaughter of many an adorable Buneary and Skitty, and of course of the delectable resulting bloodfest that came from that.

As you back up the Haunter's words, he seems to be very delighted by your response, nodding eagerly in agreement throughout. "Excellent! Yes, yes, you do understand!" He laughed out loud. "I can't wait to start playing then. Do not worry, the rules are very simple, there won't be much chance to cheat even if you intend to. Are you familiar with role-playing games? It's easy; you will be assuming the identity of another persona, and making decisions in her place. In this particular session, you will play the role of a priestess, summoned to this very lightouse to purge it from the evil that haunts it. Whether you succeed or not depends on the kind of decisions that you make, and in the process you will undoubtedly learn many, many things, and so will I. The decisions that we make throughout our existance also helps shape our identities, and so can one learn a lot from another based on what kind of actions they do, don't you agree? Sounds very fun and exciting so far, yes? Now there is one little problem however." He turns his gaze to August. "You see, I can only accept one player, and I'm afraid they will have to go." August practically roars in protest, all alarms ringing in her head. "She would be right, of course," he continued, "it would indeed be very foolish to trust a deciever like me, to be honest, but alas, this condition is absolutely necessary to proceed. What you choose to do now will say a lot about you. Are you willing to do without your safety net? Know that there is a lot in stake for me too. I'm ready to face the consequences, and you... you aren't afraid of death, are you?"

With great risk comes great reward, they say, and this definitely sounds like it's far beyond your average role-playing game.

    ::Wet'n'Wild Recreation Park::

Mon1010: Things were turning for the dramatic now and your brain scrambles to quickly find a solution to the whole mess. Walking away was an option; you had just met them and you owed them nothing, but that would leave a bad after-taste in your mouth. The last thing you would want to happen however where for things to have a turn for the violent. Things like these only happened in poorly written soaps, didn't they? What should anyone do in this scenario?

Pulling out a Premier Ball from your pocket, you place your bets on your adorable partner, Angela, the young Togepi carefully looking around at her surroundings. She has had little experience with you so far; having only been pampered at daycares and beauty salons. Yet, you thought was enough for you as you need her not for her strength, but for her cute appeal, and boy, was she a charming one ideed! Gathering up enough courage, you stand up and and ask the brutish man just what his problem is all about while carrying your cute Pokémon with you, hoping their adorability would shield you from harm. What man worth his name would hurt another person carrying such cute Pokémon anyways? It would be like hitting a man with glasses or knocking off a handicapped person off his wheelchair; absolutely low and despicable.

Tony seems to ease up however, observing you with a bit of a confused face as your Pokémon work their magic, smiling and batting their eyes at him; Angela's Charm in particular doing a good job at disarming him and significantly lowering his Attack power. "Naw, not at all," he then said a tad amused, "right, Alice? I'm sorry baby, I didn't know he was that kind of friend." he supressed a chuckle. Whatever he meant by that, at least he didn't seem to see you as a threat.

"No, you know what? We do have a problem, Tony; you are the problem. It's always the same with you once you start drinking, and then even when you aren't!" she then exclaimed finally standing up.

"So you are replacing me," Tony replied, his voice getting rougher and his expression turning to that of annoyance again.

"You don't get it! This isn't about replacing you at all, it's about me having a real friggin social life again! Anthony-" she kept going but Tony wasn't really looking at her anymore, his gaze turning to you once again, and he looked pissed off. As he takes a step towards you, you almost flinch in anticipation of the inevitable fist to the face, but instead you see him pull out a Pokéball from his pants.

"You and me, now!" he said as his Pokéball enlarged in his hand. Whether he wanted to prove something or just take out his frustration with you, it was clear he wanted to challenge you to a Pokébattle. Certainly a better outcome than being involved in a fist-fight yourself, but why should you even accept a challenge from a jerk like him?
