Day 20 - Shelgon
20th January 2012





Getting my pic in early today. It's Shelgon! The first thing that I imagined was a shelgon
in a field of flowers, looking at a blue flower. When drawing it, I forgot about the flowers
around the time when I did the eyes, so I made the pokémon look up instead of down. It
was only when I was doing the background that I remembered the flowers, but by then I
couldn't be bothered changing the eyes and adding the flowers in.

Daww... I really like how you gave it more of a face than the official arts...
I also like the shell's texture, and I don't think the eyes are too much of a problem, as the flowers and stuff might just take away from the rest. :/

Oh my. I LOVE your Shelgon. I usually hate its design so much, but I like how you made it look like a turtle. It's so cute. :>

I really like your Articuno. I think your different approach, making it more of a landscape than just the poke itself, is very good, although the mountains were a little rigid to be natural but then you get GameFreak logic.

Yes. Anyway, I don't think it would hurt if you ever did Arty again, but next time, focusing more on the pokemon himself than the surrounding motif.

Steelix is AWESOME!!! You may not think that you draw steel and stone well, but I am of the opinion that the style that you utilized improved the sense that you are looking up at him from below, thus realizing that he is huge and you are a puny mortal that doesn't have the right to so much as kiss his shoes!!!...er...if he had shoes...that is...

While I'm at it, I also love your Articuno, and how he is so far off in the distance, making him seem like a dream that is too far out of reach. It's almost mystical.

Day 28 - Torchic

I was out for the whole day today so today's pic is a 30 minute speed paint. I've
never drawn anything so fast that wasn't a sketch, so I'm kinda glad I managed
to get some details in there... sort of. I guess I'm also grateful that random.org
decided to give me a simple pokémon to draw today, too.

I love that one! I like how you gave it wider eyes, and made it look like a little pillow, all giant and fluffy. :3

Haha, I would recommend you do something similar! After you've done everything you need to do, of course. The good thing about drawing Pokémon is that there are so many to choose from; you won't run out of ideas for a long time yet.

these are beautiful do you paint the color in?

I'm not too sure what you mean, but I do paint them all digitally. I use Photoshop CS5 for these pictures.
