Cynthia vs Lance...who gonna win?!

This is pretty much what I was going to say. Lance being a mono-type trainer makes it very easy for a trainer like Cynthia who doesn't specialize in one type to exploit his weaknesses.

First we need a standard by which to compare the two's teams;

Cynthia (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum):

Spiritomb
Roserade
Gastrodon/Togekiss
Milotic
Lucario
Garchomp

Lance (Heart Gold/Soul Silver):

Salamence
Charizard
Dragonite
Gyarados
Altaria
Garchomp

Lance will probably take this one. It's basically four against six, since Roserade and Lucario can get OHKO'd by just about everything Lance has.

That said, Milotic and Garchomp can single-handedly wreck most of Lance's team, and Gastrodon would be a good third man since it's somewhat bulky, has ice beam, and Lance lacks grass moves. Spiritomb is up in the air, but with Salamence, Dragonite, and Garchomp, you're getting into the territory of Pokemon that can turn tomb's low HP against it.

I think Cynthia would win this. As stated by others here, her team is more balanced and does not have a major weakness towards a single type. The members of her final team are also at slightly higher levels than Lance's team.

Considering Ive wrecked cynthia's whole team with a garchomp hone claws+dragon rush or dragon claw wrecks everything including milotic, it cant OHKO with Ice beam unfortunately

So I would go with lance even though he leans more toward Mono type

Yeah, I'd like to see lance win, since I think dragons are pretty epic, but really all Cynthia need to do is run ice beam on milotic and play smart, and she would win.
not that this battle is ever going to happen...

I'll say Cynthia because she has better types, her Pokemon can easily defeat dragon types and I like her Pokemon more, though dragons are my most fave type.

Cynthia! She has more then one type. Almost all of Lance's Pokemon die at the hands of Ice Beam.
