Lance would curbstom. He has variety, skill, finese and a legendary aura that simply dwarfs Cynthia. As for his 'Mon...do I need to mention them?
And if that is not all, in the games Cynthia is ridiculously easy and my Pidgeot alone has always OHKO her entire team which is extremely flawed. Lance, on the other hand, makes me feel, from the get-go, that I will lose and spend a crapload of medicine on my 'Mons.
Still, neither of them hold a candle to Red...dear god!

Honestly this isn't even a fair comparison. Lance's Pokemon drop dead at Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Surf. I know I already commented on this poll but it really isn't fair when you think about it. Lance is cool but his team will never be the best when they have such easy weaknesses to exploit. Cynthia vs Alder sounds more fair.

Cynthia ofcourse, her team is way more balanced and if her Milotic knows ice-beam then he/she would own all Lance's pokémon

It is a hard question, they are all strong, but Cynthia's milotic will destroy Lance with ice type moves.

No doubt that for Cynthia was going to win Lance with little trouble. Lance usually got 3 Dragonites, Aerodactyl, Charizard and Gyarados.
Cynthia's Milotic deals with Charizard, Aerodactyl and the 3 Dragonites. Her other five Pokemons take out Gyarados.

Well lance was able to become champion with just his " monotype" team. I think that says a lot. Sure his team may have the same weaknesses but he became the champ by overcoming such obstacle. I would say that he has a lot of skill and talent.

Cynthia has a more well-rounded team, in my opinion. It doesn't mean Lance would lose, but Cynthia has an advantage.

I look at it like this.
Lance became Champion in a time where there were not as many well-rounded Pokemon, certain types could wreak unstoppable havoc on a team no matter what. Dragons were incredibly powerful in 1st and 2nd Gen, but now as time has worn on they have many counters and strategies devised around them.
His place in the power hierarchy has slowly been reduced over the years.
Cynthia holds a diverse team together, in an effort to minimize weaknesses and maximize strengths.
It would be a battle of epic proportions but after the dust settled
Cynthia would remain standing.

My......God. I didn't even knew people have posted on this thread and I've never replied to them nor payed attention to their replies here...what a shame (and looking at my first post here make me feel DUMB)
I still think Cynthia would win, no reason specified LOL! Cynthia's poké is really good, but, holy Christ, Lance have some awesomes Dragons at his side. Yeah, yeah, it's true; i love Dragonite and Gyarados, and those both boasts enough power to demolish most of Cynthia team's. One of those Poke's is Gyarados. He's not a full Dragon type (he's not even a Dragon LOL) and this makes him a perfect counter to Cynthia. The only problem i see is, can Gyarados makes all his way through Cynthia team until he fights (Roserade!!!!) Garchomp? If he, can, defeat most of Cynthia's Team, will he defeat Cynthia's Garchomp? They're not in the game, but on a battle just the Anime (full of Lies!)...let us think outside the box a, just a little...
So yeah...this not a fair question, mwahahahah!!
