    Thingy-Mah-Bobbers

Alright first off, hi again peoples. I'm back to Serebii again. I'm not gonna' open up a request shop again this time though due to my
on-and-off activity on Serebii. If you really want something from me, send me a PM or DM and I'll try to do it.

Anyways, on with the thingy-mah-bobbers. :3
All this stuff is only in GIMP because I don't have access to my computer with Photoshop right now. :S

        Spoiler:- 350x150 Banners:

        Spoiler:- Avatars:

I'm mainly just interested in critique, and tips on how to improve, despite how
much I love complements (does that sound narcissistic? I hope not. xD)

    nice stuff you have there

But some of your "thingy-mah-bobbers" could use no text, as it sometimes pulls focus from the actual focal. A way to eliminate that a bit is putting it close to the point of focus and sliding the opacity slider a tad to the left.

Also, on your Lucky Star stuff, you put "Lucky Star" text in Visitor in the corners, making it a bit too obvious. Like I said before, lower the opacity and use some layer settings :]

That one would've looked much better without the girl's face poking out from the top, IMO. I like the coloring on the main banner, but the text could've been darker to match the dark blue.

Lowering the opacity of patterns in the background (such as scanlines) or changing the layer setting would be a good path to take, too. You don't want it to be too noticable most of the time.

    Keep working on it!

On another note, have you been creepypasta reading?
The Hypno and Slenderman ones were good, I suggest something like Glitchy Red or Lost Silver. of course I suggest the semi-classics

Alrighty first off thanks. To summarize: 1.) Don't let the text steal the focus from the image. 2.) Make the visitor text less noticeable. 3.) Make background patterns more subtle. Thanks! :3

    -------------

And yes I did recently start reading Creepypastas (I'm glad that's noticeable! xD). But the Ben banner is the one that inspired me to make the other two which I don't think are nearly as good. :P

Edit: I added a few more banners, and a few avatars.

    Yes, yes, and yes :3
You got it, and congrats on getting your Photoshop back xD

Anyway, I love your avatars. Especially the transparency ones, y'know, with the transparent square around the focal? Your avatars/icons get right to the point; by that I mean the focal. But sometimes things can seem a bit plain. Try messing around with different filters, textures, C4D's, brushes, and etc. to get an outcome you like :3
Lighting and coloring might be something you'd want to try out, too.

I think you may have misinterpreted, I'm waiting to get my Photoshop back, I don't have it back yet. xD

Yeah a lot of those avatars I didn't put much into, I just made to complete a set. xD And thanks about the complement for the ones with the transparency, on some older ones I would use different stencils (as I call the cut outs) but it seems that inner border has the best effect. :3

oh, and if you're interested, Blackbird on DA makes very nice icon tutorials for PS, so you might wanna look him up.

    ------------------------------

One last thing- your stuff is making me want to read Lucky Star again xD

Heh, I just re-watched the anime for the 6th time, that was the inspiration for the Lucky Star graphics. Slightly ironic I suppose. :3

Thanks, but I often take several months off of Serebii, so I can't hold up a graphic shop.

Edit: Added a couple banners & avvies. :3

oh wait . . . Lucky Star is an anime xD
I remembered it as being a manga for some reason; I can be ignorant at times . . . actually, a lot of times.

Blowing up a font like Visitor isn't a very good path to go down, as it's better off as subtext or on userbars in the first place, IMHO.
But I love the background on it :3

Yeah I didn't like using Visitor that size either, but it's what my friend requested. xD

Also, Lucky Star has both an Anime and a Manga.

Edit: Renovating to make room for different resolution graphics. :3
