I am in love with Dark Souls. Only reason why I didn't include it... it wasn't incredibly hard. It was hard, yes. Challenging. But never rage inducing except for a few key points (Ornstein and Smough, Capra Demon).
It's the sort of game where you learn from your mistakes and try all over rather than demand constant precision and perfect button timing ALL THE TIME. It's like Megaman in that way, again, except for a few key points (Quickman lazer death beams).

The Hardest game out there right now is Dark Souls
this game isnt one of those games where a mentally challenged child can't play and kill everything
no this game will make you mad, cry out in anger, and eventually throw your console out the window.
This game is to test you, make you learn from your mistakes. See if you can adapt. This is harder then skyrim so buzz off fanboys.
With every playthrough it gets WAY harder.
1st Playthrough. Its already hard enough.
2nd playthrough is 40% harder
3rd gets even harder
4. Way way way way harder
5. Your going to visit satan soon.
This game will test you if you think your a hardcore gamer. Weed out those "Hardcore" Gamers from the CoD bunch.

Tell us more about how difficult you found a rhythm tool with no real challenge, no plot, no enemies, and no ending.
Anyway, Super Meat Boy is a bitch. The last few chapters of Portal 2 were also pretty hard, but they were manageable.
Stay Metal
I never even played it, but based on gameplay videos and the way people complain, I know that Dark Souls is difficult.
StarCraft gets frustrating later on in the game, and then Brood War becomes merciless.
The first time I played through Darksiders, it was rough until about after I kiledl the Griever.
Diablo is also quite relentless once you get to the lower caves and Hell.
And just to get it out before someone else does: Gears of War 1. Remember RAAM?

Well, i find Halo 3 hard when you try to complete that Vidmaster Achievement. The last level with every one on ghosts on legendary with iron skull on. Someone always ends up dying or they don't follow everyone else.I don't know what my hardest game is though.

That's not hard. That's just lack of an ending. Isn't it a rhythm tool game thing anyways?
Vidmaster is only hard if you or your friends suck. Other than the essential teamwork it's just Halo on Legendary.

That, and it's just an extra challenge in the game. The game itself is not especailly difficult, but when you go for challenges, of course. By this logic of saying the vidmaster challenges are difficult, I could say that Dead Space 2 is a hard game because the Hardcore achievement says to beat it on the hardest difficulty using only 3 saves. The game's not hard but that challenge in it is.
And by the way Dead Space 2 is not my nominee for hardest game. I'm honestly not sure what is. At this point I don't even find Super Meat Boy "difficult" any more since I've almost beaten it 100% twice over now. But I admit it's a tricky game, it's just all about muscle memory and twitch reflexes.

- Crystal Defenders!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even get pass the 1st board! D=< I mean that's so hard! Yet, I was able to beat the demo no problem. =_=
The 1st board on there for me is really hard. I have no idea why. ;____; But I always play that to have fun and lose. XD It's like the beginning and middle is easy, but the end of the board, I just "lose" for some reason... xD It may be just because I use the summons at the wrong time and use up my coins on leveling up. =P
