Espeon Vs Umbreon

I like 'em both equaly. Espeon is a special sweeper while Umbreon is a staller, so this comparison isn't between counterparts. It's like ask some if it prefers Gengar (special sweeper) or Dusclops (staller), which are very different. I think that having both Espeon and Umbreon in team are strategically good once they can cover the weakness of each other (Espeon protects Umbreon from fightings while Espeon protects Espeon from ghosts). They make a nice partnership, as we could see in Pokemon Colloseum.

Personally, I love Espeon more. I like Umbreon as well, but I use Espeon as my Psychic a lot.

Umbreon. Ever since I saw it coming in Gen II, even with the other evolutionary options. I've always tried to have it on my team, no matter the gen.

I just wish that it was more useful in competition.

I prefer Espeon, mainly because I prefer offensive Pokemon to defensive Pokemon, and because I just like Espeon's design more. But, if the two were to battle, Umbreon would win, no contest.

Umbreon has a cooler design with the yellow rings.

Espeon I like because he is an attacker. While Umbreon is more of a wall.

By far though the best Eevee evolutions we got so far. The grass and ice ones were, disappointing in design.

Still waiting on a sweet Ground, Ghost, or Flying Eevee.

Espeon is the superior offensive player, which is what I prefer to have on my team. It's also much faster than Umbreon.
In terms of the 3rd gen, I always found Espeon to be more useful in the one Gen III game in which I used it, which was Colosseum.

I prefer Espeon because of it's learnset and design. =P That, and it reminds me of Caius Ballad from Final Fantasy XIII-2, Kain Highwind from Final Fantasy IV, and it's my 2nd favorite Eeveelution. Tied with Flareon.

On technical terms, Umbreon beats Espeon hands down. There's no competition there, really. However, design wise and overall appeal, I would go with Espeon. Heck, for a long time Espeon was my favorite Eeveelution.

I like them both but Umbreon has Espeon beat because Espeon won't cause too much harm, a couple Faint Attacks or even one it's over for Espeon. Umbreon may have low attack but Espeon has low def. Espeons a sweeper but Umbreon's a staller. It depends on what your wanting in your team.

Espeon. Its an amazing attacking, and Umbreon, while defensive can't do anything that hurts.
