Yea it is. We have been derailing this topic, though. I'm sure you have other places to voice your opinions on Nintendo.

So I'll ask, what do people think of the game Shadow the Hedgehog? I've heard mostly bad things about the game, but I'll probably end up getting it eventually.

I managed to get Secret Rings for free, so that's probably the only way I'm willing to get ShtH anyways.

I am curious about the gunplay though. Does it detract from the gaming experience? Does the game feel like a Sonic game at all?

The gunplay is retarded as hell, you have to use vehicles and the game doesn't feel like a Sonic game at all.

Spend money on this game like you would Sonic 06; i.e. not at all.

despite the graphics engine being based off of Sonic Heroes, the graphics in Shadow are much, much, MUCH worse than Heroes. All of the textures are blurry as hell, its like an N64 game. The character models are EXACTLY THE SAME as Heroes which is a bad thing, because they're low-poly compared to Sonic Adventure 2 (which is even older). While both Heroes and Shadow have ugly character models, Heroes environment is gorgeous, while Shadow's environment is really ugly, bland, and full of blurry textures

If I were to rate the main series Sonic games out of 10, this is what I would rate them:
Sonic 1: 7/10
Sonic 2: 8/10
Sonic 3 & Knuckles: 10/10
Sonic Adventure: 6/10
Sonic Adventure 2: 4/10
Sonic Heroes: 8/10
Shadow the Hedgehog: 2/10
Sonic 2006: -never played it-
Sonic Unleashed (Wii): 2/10
Sonic Unleashed (PS3): 8/10
Sonic 4 Episode 1: 3/10
Sonic Colors: 7/10
Sonic Generations: -never played it-

I will be getting Generations sometime this week, so I'm hoping its better than Colors, which I'm sure it will be, since the problems I find with Colors aren't in Generations (lack of actual 3D platforming, too many 2D sections, game length is too short, Sonic talking like a nerd "DID SOMEONE ORDER A CLOBBERINGLOL?")

Shadow the Hedgehog isn't the game to get. Like others have said, terrible graphics and the game barely makes sense. It's only good for finding out about Shadow's past.

In other words,the gaming experience of Shadow the Hedgehog is significantly different compared to Sonic's titles, making him a unique counter-part in the franchise. But I do see the point you're bringing up,here. Shadow seemed like more of a SONY character than a legitimate SEGA character.

Funny you say that because Sega themselves admitted that they made Shadow the Hedgehog to cash in the success of Ratchet and Clank.

No it isn't. You would have to get all ten ending to unlock the true ending, where we find out that Shadow is an alien, if you must find out about Shadow's past then just youtube the ending.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing sequel striking stores this sholiday season
