I complained about the summary of "Squid Baby" earlier, but now that I saw the episode, I've had enough of SpongeBob. That damn episode is the lowest of the low, how dare they write an episode with such immaturity and disgrace. Yes, SpongeBob is for kids, but for the love of God, don't talk down to children about serious injuries. The fact this was basically a Squidward torture porn episode from the bottom of the "Squidward Torture Porn" barrel made it worse.

I only saw half of the episode, but that half was all I need to despise this. For one thing: SpongeBob and Patrick are playing with baby toys. Baby toys. WHY. Squidward then trips or slips on one, and he hits his head in such a way it gives him brain injury so serious, he got the mentality of a baby. But they had the gall to call it "Head-Go-Boom-Boom-itis". A doctor character calls his condition this.

You do not call real serious brain injuries "Head-Go-Boom-Boom-itis"!

Then this piece of shit of an episode decides to use it as an excuse to have Squidward (who has a mental capacity of a baby at this point) get hurt in "amusing" ways, such as getting his head stuck in the wooden ceiling, and getting his head run over by a truck. And SpongeBob and Patrick did nothing to get him off the street before that happened. The hell?! Remember "Rock-A-Bivalve"? They wouldn't have let "Junior" get hurt like that, but they let Squidward get run over?

Right afterward, SpongeBob takes Squidward in to work, and Mr. Krabs, being the fat bastard he is, says this to SpongeBob who is trying to tell him Squidward can't work, "I don't care if he has seaweed for brains, there are customers waiting to give me money!"

    SCREW. YOU.

I turned off the TV right then and there, and I vowed off SpongeBob. This episode was uncalled for. I have no idea how this got greenlit, but the show has no mentality, let alone maturity to handle such a serious condition as the plot of an episode. Considering how I have a sibling who suffered brain injury as a child, this pissed me off.

I don't know how anyone can like this episode. Was there anything positive about this episode at all? I'm very curious if anything was resolved in a reasonable manner at the end.
Wow! I totally agree with this! I just hate this episode! It's just terrible! >.>

I watched the rest of the episode. It just wasn't worth it, and made me more angry. The fact SpongeBob was being careless with Squidward carrying him around to change him (while Mr. Krabs is still a huge asshole), and that Squidward's brain injury was cured by having a pile of ice cubes fall on his head and melt. THE HELL?!

I don't know if I should wish this episode to be released on a random DVD or not, I need to show my parents just how god-awful this episode was, and see what they think of it. Hopefully, this'll end SpongeBob for our household as well.

I'm going to bring it up again since its back on topic but there was a report on the news a few weeks back about a survey that showed that this kind of material in children's programming increases the likeliness of the young viewers becoming bullies.

Yeah, well.... That's their problem. And anyway, not all surveys are truthfull. Yeah, sometimes they are bullies, but that doesn't mean that the media causes that.

I used to love Spongebob, but it's been pretty terrible for years now. Now I'm lucky if I see a decent one once in a blue moon.

It just seems to have steadily grown more immature, nasty, and just unfunny over the years.

In my opinion, boring isn't the right word. If it were boring, the kids wouldn't be hooked to it. I think the word you're looking for is "crude".

On topic of crudeness, Seth MacFarlene should really go into kids' cartoons.

Not that kids haven't been watching his stuff anyway.

Yesterday, my parents bought the new SpongeBob Christmas special. I didn't sit down to watch it, but they decided to animate the whole episode with stop-motion, I guess as an homage to the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials, but without the charm of the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials. Everything just looked so freakin' creepy. Didn't help the characters are practically the same, except SpongeBob apparently got transported to a world where everyone hates Christmas and was mean to each other (which I guess is the entire plot of the 22-minute special).

Not that I couldn't tell because Mr. Krabs was pretty much the same character in this alternative world >_>. And those freakin' eyebrows. Oh good Lord, what was with the eyebrows?! Didn't help that they animated Patchy the Pirate the same way. It's scary.

I'll complain about it properly when I finally get around to watching it, but something tells me I'm going to be staring at the screen with a scared look the entire time.

Oh god, I saw that episode Truth or Square today, and I've got that first song the Spongebob sings going around in my head. You know 'Here's a day that couldn't get much better', etc. Aside from that, the episode was a lot different then expected. In the summary on my tv, it said the group got stuck in a freezer- given the name, I thought they'd spend to episode playing truth or dare.

    Hmm... that sounds odd.

That perfectly explains the quality and content of modern kids' shows.

Okay, I'm a bit curious now and tempted to look it up...

...and it looks interesting to say the least.

How does Spongebob get more viewers than TMNT?! If it weren't for Spongebob, TMNT would win the Saturday morning ratings war.

Back when the show was still good, I REALLY liked the "Chocolate with Nuts" episode. This is my favorite line from the whole series:
Spongebob: Patrick, you need to flatter the customer.
Patrick: OK, got it. *knocks on door*
    Customer: Yes?
    Patrick: I love you.
    Customer: *closes the door*

The episode "Shanghaied" is a classic. Oh, and the secret box episode.
"The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma." *Patrick's thoughts show a carton of milk spilling*
And how Spongebob thought the secret inside the box was an embarrassing photo of him from the Christmas party.
Spongebob: Oh, it's just a string. Good night Patrick. *leaves*
Patrick: *laughing* Spongebob thought it was just a string, but, if you pull the string, it reveals an embarrassing photo of him from the Christmas party! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
