What starter did you choose?

I'm a huge fan of all them, but I mainly used Piplup. Actually, they were all used an even amount.

Diamond: Torterra & Infernape (obviously Infernape was traded)
Pearl: Empoleon
Platinum: Empoleon, Infernape & Torterra

Easily my favorite group of starters.

Torrterra is a beast, but I dumped it after I caught my Gible because I liked having Garchomp more than Torterra.

Chimchar and Piplup. I'm actually a fan of both of their final evos, and didn't really want to have to choose between them. Though I think I favor Infernape a little more.

First time through, on Diamond, I chose Piplup. I tend to like waters anyway, and water/steel is a great typing. I was sort of disappointed though when I found that that meant that Dawn ended up with Chimchar, since... you know... Dawn has a Piplup. So when I later played Platinum, I went with Turtwig so that Dawn would have her Piplup. And Torterra is pretty awesome too. Then, finally, I recently picked up a copy of Pearl, so I'm playing that through with a Chimchar, who's now an Infernape and just demolished the Snowpoint gym.

First time i couldn't decide between Piplup and chimchar but eventually decided on piplup which after the Oreburgh gym forgot about and left in a box on bebes PC deciding to train up a Budew instead. Then when I played platinum i chose Turtwig which i think is the most powerful starter by a long way.

I picked Piplup. It was adorable. Generally, I tend to like the grass-type starters, but I wasn't fond of Turtwig's design (or its evolutions), so, didn't go with it. Generally, I don't like the fire-type starters. Or fire-type Pokémon in general. So I rarely choose them.

I'm pleased to see how even the poll results are. I wasn't expecting that. YAY VARIETY.

I picked Piplup in both Diamond and Platinum. Not for reasons like typing, or moves, or stuff like that.

I picked Piplup because penguins are my favorite animal. Gotta love penguins <3

Piplup. I usually use the Fire type, but Piplup was just too cute to resist... the rival battle after Jubilife was a pain with Piplup though =_=.

Chimchar. Chimchar is one of my favorite Pokemon, and Chimchar looks so tough!

My first Sinnoh Starter Pokemon was Turtwig. I purchased a Japanese Diamond version back in 2006, and I thought Turtwig was the best choice out of the three Pokemon. It was pretty reliable in battle, although there were times when I wished I had chosen Piplup instead.

The first time? I picked Chimchar. I remember quite clearly, sitting in the car with my mother, grandmother, and older sister, as I asked them which one to pick. We chuckled at the fact that Chimchar looked like his butt was on fire, so we dubbed him the "Fire-Butt Monkey" (cruel joke, I know xD).

But later on, Turtwig became my favourite. It's the only one I pick now when I restart my game~

on diamond,i chose chimchar.but i realized that in all pokemon games i played,i always use fire.so on pearl,i chose piplup.

im going with empoleon even though it has 2 added weakness by being part steel it can counter those with drill peck for fighting and water move for ground
