Politoed lets you use Thunder on Magnazone and reduce the damage your team takes from fire attacks but increase damage from water attacks.

Heatran is immune to fire and provides stealth rocks support and has good coverage.
you could always try my fav toed set:

    politoed
    modest
    252 hp/ 252 SpA
    - hydro pump
    - ice beam
    - hp grass/ground
    - encore

Choice band or Scarf for an Item and you could use a Groundon based team and have Zekrom as your Kyogre counter.

You should do a full rmt, I recommend dropping venusaur for roserade because it makes your team uu and venusaur isn't as good out of the sun

Lugia is a decent option, countering DD Raquaza and Salamence as well as defensive Groudon:

    Lugia@ Leftovers
    Timid Nature
    252 HP / 16 Def / 240 Spe
    ~Calm Mind
    ~Ice Beam
    ~Roost
    ~Earth Power/Whirlwind
Standard CM smogon set. I wouldn't consider Thunder unless you're running Kyogre. Seeing as your main focus is countering Groudon, Whirlwind may be a decent answer, letting yo set up on a switch the opponent doesn't want, and then Ice Beaming Groudon in the face on the way in.

With all that speed and only 300 defense it's not going to be taking Outrages very well.

im building a uu team around the offensive core of darmanitan and nidoking. both use sheer force, and life orbs. i'm thinking balanced, with slowbro as a good wall to take psychic, rock, ground, or really any physical hit. any other suggestions? i'll post the sets later. ooo! last note, it'll probably be trick room too.

Item Clause prevents two life orbs from being used. Damanitan and Nidoking could use an Air balloon, Darmanitan could also run Choice band or Choice scarf, Nidoking needs Life orb more due to its lower S.atk stat but it could also run black sludge for healing.

Hey guys! I'm thinking of starting to play in RU, and I was wondering if I could get some ideas. See, I'm really digging Seismitoed lately (I know, I know.), and I want to build my team around his Swift Swim build. So, without further ado, Swift-toed.

    Boss Nass@Life Orb
    Swift Swim Ability
    Modest Nature
4 HP/252 Sp.Attk/252 Speed (Trying to work around making him bulky as well, so I'm not sure if I need the full 252 EVs in speed.)
    - Hydro Pump
    - Rain Dance
    - Earth Power
    - Sludge Wave

So, basically, he sets up his own sweep, boosting his Hydro Pump and Speed with Rain Dance. Hydro Pump boosted by Life Orb is a wrecker in Rain, while Earth Power is just another useful STAB move. Not sure if I should switch it out with Grass Knot. Sludge Wave takes care of its Grass weakness.

And that's where my team ends, since I'm not sure where to go next. I don't know the metagame too well, so I wondering if any of you could help me out. (:

    Swift Swim Ability

That should give you enough HP EVs to be 'bulky' and enough SpA/Speed EVs to do damage. With Swift Swim, Speed isn't much of a problem.

You've now got the 4x Grass weakness. Ferroseed is a nice wall, walling the Grass attacks, loving weaker Fire moves, and being able to assist in Seismitoeds sweeps.

    Ferroseed@ Eviolite
    Sassy/Impish Nature
    252 HP / 236 Def / 20 SpD
    ~Leech Seed
    ~Spikes
    ~Thunder Wave/Protect
~Gyro Ball/Bullet Seed (Gyro Ball is better, as you can hit Grass types other than Ferroseeds)

i would scarf/band him, i would like to recommend steel arceus in combo with lugia
    arceus@iron plate
    bold
    252hp/252def/4sp def
    -calm mind
    -will-o-wisp/refresh/recover
    -judgement
    -recover/thunderbolt

    lugia@leftovers
    careful
    252hp/72def/184sp def
    -toxic
    -dragon tail
    -recover
    -earthquake

steel arceus can come in on physical dragon attacks/extreme killer arceus and burn them and then set up and beat things down with judgement, recover to heal while lugia blocks acreus`s fighting and round weakness and zekrom`s ground, spreads poison and phazes, earthquake is for heatran

Hey everyone. I'd like some help with rebuilding my Rain Team that I used for the International Challenge. Please keep in mind that this is for official Nintendo wifi matchups and challenges. I'm still pretty new to the metagame so most of the builds are just standard of Smogon with maybe a move tweaked here or there.

My previous team consisted of Politoed, Kingdra, Vaporeon, Volcarona, Gengar and Blissey.

        Spoiler:- Potential Members:

Now I realize that that is a lot of water, but Drizzle/Swift Swim is an awesome combo thats legal in these matches, and that Vaporeon provides great support, especially with healing status in rain. I have also toyed with switching my defensive Politoed for an offensive one.

Of course I am looking for any and all suggestions, however Politoed and Kingdra have to stay, unless another Swift Swim abuser could replace Kingdra. Thanks in advance everyone!

well, drizzle swift swim is viable only in ubers, its banned past that
    i would suggest
    politoed@leftovers
    calm
    drizzle
    252hp/4sp attack/252sp def
    -scald
    -protect/encore
    -toxic
    -ice beam/perish song/encore

    Tentacruel@black sludeg
    bold
    rain dish
    252hp/252def/4sp attack
    -scald
    -rapid spin
    -toxic spikes
    -protect

    ferrothorn@leftovers
    sassy
    252hp/72def/184sp def
    -leech seed
    -stealth rocks
    -power whip
    -protect/gyro ball

politoed is better as a special wall whiile tentacruel and ferro love politoeds rain to help them wall things, plus bring hazards and spin that are key to winning the weather wars

Thanks for the suggestions. However, like I said my team is for the Nintendo wifi competitions an matchups. Drizzle and Swift Swim is not banned there.

Yeah? And would you still recommend a ferrothorn and tentacruel for my team as well, even if it is for wifi matchups/tournaments?

yes, ferro is an excellent electric and grass sponge while tentacruel heals i believe 44 hp per turn with black sludge and rain dish, and he can stall with protect, plus he can spin away hazards that diminish politoeds health

item clause isnt played as often in higher circles. this team wouldnt be for PO anyway.

    a suggestion:

    cacturne @focus sash
    - water absorb-
    brave
    252 hp/ 252 atk
    - seed bomb
    - sucker punch
    - destiny bond
    - spikes

I'd say Swords Dance > Spikes, and an Adamant nature.
