I really don't mind the lack of a challenge, really. I appreciate a good challenge when it comes my way, but I don't care either way.
Ground types are useless against Koffing, though, unless you have a way to negate Levitate. And I highly doubt you will that early in the game.

seen a pic of the badge case, seems Burgh, Clay, Skyla and Drayden don't get new outfits/designs (judging this by the fact they use the same head shots from BW1) just Elesa has a new one including Cheren, Homika and Shizui.

Neither did I. To be honest, I never catch a Pokémon to make a Gym Battle easier. I plan my team before I start playing, be it strong or weak against the leaders. For example, I will not catch Magnemite or any Psychic or Steel Pokémon to battle Homika, unless Klink and/or Solosis are available before her gym.
Skyla got a new design, so it is safe to assume that the others will get redesigns too.

Yeah, the fact that Homika's highest-leveled Pokemon is level 18 compared to Lenora (who was second in BW), who's Watchog was level 20. It's gonna be way easier this time around. I just realized that Retaliate boasted a much higher base power once you defeated her Herdier, so I guess second Gyms in Unova have a theme.
They always make it easier for us. They had a Throh and Sawk and Timburr outside Nacrene. I personally think Striaton showed more of a challenge, especially if you didn't have the monkey. Now we're given an assortment. In the end it's all just going to test our patience and desire to ~become the champion~ *triumphant trumpet sounds*
There appears to be a lift on the ten character limit for Pokemon in X and Y, so will we be seeing a chance for Pokemon like Feraligatr for their names to be spelled without any missing letters? Just a thought.
