(We haven't gotten that information yet.)
Thing is, it makes no sense for a gym in the Unova League to be so far away from Unova. I don't doubt there could be some landmass off the map, but it'd probably be either an optional area or a post game area.
I'm operating on the idea that this new landmass would be a part of Unova. I get the feeling that you aren't.
You seemed to have misunderstood what I said. I said it was probably okay to leave it uncovered if it was early game OR there wasn't much to spoil.
I did misunderstand, but still: why show anything past Nimbasa or so if the ice covered spoilers? We counted off a ton of differences between maps, and we've only accounted for about half of them in screenshots and such. Nothing in Mistralton or the airport in Eastern Unova has been covered, Driftveil has only been seen via the World Tournament, and Opelucid and the Village Bridge haven't been seen at all. Why leave all of those areas visible? That's what I'm hung up on (well, one of the things I'm hung up on).
Thing is, though, the League was handled differently in BW1, but it was still part of the story. And I guarantee you it will always be a part of the main storyline. The main reason for your character's journey is to conquer the Pokemon League and become the best trainer. The storyline isn't complete without a gym leader and Elite 4 challenge. Now, it may be possible that the Team Plasma/Kyurem plot may need to be resolved before you face the Elite 4, but it certainly will not take place after the storyline is over.
I stopped at "I guarantee." You cannot guarantee anything.
You still haven't proven that Shizui's town isn't under the ice, and in fact evidence says the opposite. So while it probably isn't a coincidence that the other old gyms are covered by the ice, that doesn't mean every area covered by the ice is inaccessible.
What evidence? There is literally no evidence, none that is valid. An in-game map? The in-game map shows the entire region, regardless of when it's accessible. The islands? That's a guess. The area west of the Giant Chasm? Also a guess.
Also, it doesn't make too much sense for the to be covering SOME post-game areas, and to otherwise be covering SOME main game areas. Then again, GF was stupid enough to use ice as a method of obscuring and then blurt out that maybe parts of Unova are frozen, so maybe they were stupid in this way, too.
First of all, not all of those are likely to be accessible by surfing/fishing. Second, that's not enough to justify having surfing AND fishing, especially considering that you have shaking spots which account for two completely separate rosters. Also, if they throw underwater encounters into the mix, it's absolute overkill. Just having surfing and surfing spots may be enough.
I never said we weren't getting more Water-types.
However, I do agree that it's unlikely to throw underwater encounters into the mix.
Same, but the question is, will underwater areas be fully explorable like in RSE?
I would hope so.
And how do you know this?
It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. :\ The characters aren't designed for nothing. Wetsuits aren't articles of clothing that normal people (travelers, nonetheless) would just wear
. Those wetsuits are there for a reason, because the designers of those characters (Ohmura?) has a brain and isn't just slapping what looks cool on them. There's thought that goes into every character design, and wetsuits are too specific and too out-of-the-ordinary for them to simply be accessories or something.

If it is near Undella, then it represents geographical change that is not man-made. At any rate, I think it would be too odd if there were a hole in the frozen map, as it were. They've shown us screenshots of the area of Shizui's gym because they still want to promote all the new gym leaders.
I don't. I think if they left a hole where Opelucid is (and what do you know, Opelucid is a Gym), they could have left a hole near Undella or wherever Shizui's town is.
My argument is that they don't want us to know about the locations covered by the second guide as they're supposed to be a genuine surprise, unlike the frozen map. If your argument is that Shizui's town is part of a small new map that would be insignificant compared to Eastern Unova, then I don't see why they would remain tight-lipped about that
Well, personally, I don't see why they would remain tight-lipped about any brand-spanking-new setting that is off the map, but you know that already.
I assume that what you're getting at is that some of the Generation V Pokémon may not be obtainable in B2W2, but are included in the regional Pokédex for posterity's sake. I can't see Game Freak excluding a significant number of Pokémon from their native region, or even restricting them to the post-game story. While I don't think that Reshiram, Zekrom or the Kami trio are catchable in these games, anything else would strike me as an odd move.
No, that's not what I'm getting at.
It's the second line on this page
. It says that one page
of the map is frozen, asking what that has to do with a certain weird event.
I dunno, I'm not sure that wording is significant.
I don't see how you can find it likely that Virbank and the city from the animated trailer are one the same despite the lack of supporting evidence, especially if you're so sure that Undella is "unchanged" based on a card design with a limited perspective (there could easily be more buildings between the center and the cliff). You can tell from the animated trailer that there are many
of those buildings (they're also further in the background), and also that there is a snowy mountain directly
overlooking the city. That simply does not fit what we've seen of Virbank City.
The card design shows the Pokemon center next to the cliff. There's no way they simply left out a large amount of space in-between the two. The card shows blatantly that Undella hasn't changed, because if it was different, the cliff would be gone.
So what does this mean, exactly? That you agree there may be a new post-game area, but Eastern Unova still won't be part of the badge quest? Despite what I think about the possibility of a new landmass, I just don't see why a Unova gym would be located there, even if we could access a certain part of it before the league. You have to admit that it would be very awkward.
I don't think it'd be awkward at all. And yes, that's what I'm thinking. Well, what I was thinking. It seems more likely now that Shizui's town is somewhere along the east coast, but contrary to what Wulava said, it doesn't show that it's definitely
there in the least.
We now have a full map of Virbank City. It is definitely not the city from the animated trailer.
Take a look at Aspertia in the animated trailer. Does it look a thing like Aspertia in the games? No, it doesn't. It has way more buildings in the animated trailer. Knowing what the in-game map of the city looks like proves nothing.
