I hate how GameFreak got us all hyped up about gen 2 and gen 4 starters, but then give us a screenshot to show it has to be poketransfered for DPPtHGSS.

But that's your fault. GameFreak never said anything about the starters being in the game, which honestly should have been a big flashing hint. There is no way they'd show the starters nonchalantly; they would advertise the hell out of them if they were part of the 300 Unova dex

Well sorree. I was just saying my opinion. Many people thought we could use gen 2 and gen 4 starters, but then we got screwed by Gamefreak with the image of Pokétransfer occurring.

But there was little basis for that belief. Game Freak didn't "screw" you in any way.

You keep saying this but the only images I can remember was the Typhlosion shown in Pokewood & CoroCoro showed Chikorita....right next to the Poketransfer facility in the box talking about the Poketransfer.

And the gen 4 starters were never shown at all.

Game Freak didn't promise starters to you and then take them out, it's entirely your fault that you expected the starters to be in. These "why are game freak screwing us out of things they never promised us" posts are getting tiresome.

Bulbasuar- Block, False Swipe, Weather Ball, Frenzy Plant
Charmander- Block, False Swipe, Acrobatics, Blast Burn
Squirtle- Block, False Swipe, Follow Me, Hydro Cannon

Back on topic, I can't wait to use Magmortar, haven't used him yet in an ingame team.

Why would they promise us those starters and then just rip them away from us? That's just cruel! What next, the World Tournament is just a lie? Block and False Swipe are amazing moves to use against roaming legendaries.

Never once did they promise us starters, people just assumed they were in the dex.

False swipe is a pretty good move for catching pokemon but you don;t want to faint them and block works for roaming legends

Of course Block would be more useful on Pokemon who are, you know, fast enough to use it.
Charizard is probably the best choice (100 speed, compare to 80 & 78) but at best he'll speed tie Entei & outspeed Suicune. If the birds ever started roaming again, he might be good there but everyone else?

Wouldn't be surprised if Girafarig is in the Expanded PokeDex. It's been in every Regional Dex (Besides Unova for obvious reasons) ever since it's debut...

All Unova Pokémon will most likely return, there's no real need to advertise them. So they focus on the old ones.
