Slakoth is 276. It's only included because Vigoroth and Slaking appear in Pinwheel Forest, which is post-game, which is my point.

I think they wanted to throw more Pokemon in BW2 that they didn't have in BW1.
If that were the case (I'm not saying that it isn't true), then any Pokémon would've worked, really.

Speaking of two-Pokémon lines, how about Mankey and Primeape instead of Riolu and Lucario in Floccesy Ranch?

Riolu needed to come back IMO so it's fine there. Mankey and Primape had their time

"Needed to come back?" If I may ask, what for? They were already rare in DPP (in terms of availability, not in rate of encounter), and they could've stayed rare. :/

Low Kick could be... interesting. It's not as good as it was back in RGBYFRLG, though, since rodents and puppies tend to lean pretty light. Still, you're looking at 80 base power on Lillipup after STAB, and 120 on Patrat.

Ya but I think they needed to be a openly wild option at some point. I thought it was cool they put them where they did.

Eh, there are some Pokémon that are better off only obtainable through special methods (like Spiritomb). :/

Personally, I felt like putting Riolu as a wild Pokémon was a bad idea. But hey, it's there now, so no use sulking or anything.

the only reason why they're rare in DPPt is because they're naturally native to the Unova - they just happened to be in the Sinnoh dex because Riley and Cynthia both had a Lucario.
We're nothing more than concreteness victims trapped into our limits
Blind beliefs that lead us: "Trust in what we can perceive with senses".
Thousands minds that reflect our tendency to flatten layers of knowledge,
demonstrating that we're just wasting our time.
Look above us, sky is just a fragment and shows us how we're nothing more than ants.
Human weakness is what we hide, overwhelming celebration of our fault .
Entwined with our fears of being in your hands, we're deaf to the universe that guides us.
How can we enhance our thin perception of every small wonder hiding behind simple shapes?

They're not going to remove 5th gen Pokemon from the Unova Dex.

They were actually catchable in BW1, you caught them in Challenger's Cave.

Here we go again. Any Pokemon that's in the Pokedex is a native to that region. The only reason Riolu isn't catchable in DPPt is because it was a design decision, they decided that Riolu is too rare to allow it to be catchable. It's likely that Riley and Cynthia got their in some area of Sinnoh that for whatever reason we can't access, much like how we couldn't access SW Unova, Reversal Mountain, and Humilau City in BW1.

Ya but to put them early in the game I meant.

Again, that was an example, but I just couldn't think of another Pokémon to remove at that point.

    Maybe something like Castform?

I didn't quite get that. There were a lot of those floating around in trainer's teams in BW2. Not a fan of them personally

Yeah, I felt like it was just tacked in there, too. Although to be fair, Unova does have seasonal weather pattern changes, which Castform could make use of.

It's probably only there to highlight the seasonal theme of the game.

Another one that could be removed would be Absol, I guess?

Ya but that was available in BW1 so I don't see the importance of 'advertising' it now

You're really desperate to stick the Machop line in, aren't you?

I have no problem with which Pokemon they decided to put in the Unova Dex, but I have a huge problem with when and where you catch them.

Do I actually feel that strongly about putting Machop in instead of Riolu? No, absolutely not.

I'm just mentioning Pokémon that could've been taken out for the Machop line.

Why would we need the Machop line anyway if they already have our nice, new Timburr line friends?

Well sure, there's dozens of "what if" scenarios if you want to add Machop to the Unova Dex, but the Unova Dex is fine the way it is. Again, it's not about who or what, but where and when.

To be fair, you could ask the same question about Rattata, Zubat, Magnemite, and Grimer as well (and probably several more I'm forgetting).
