Pokémon Connoisseur Showdown! Tasting Battle!!
On their way to Opelucid City, Ash & co. meet up with a person whose daughter is about to pick her first Pokémon. Cilan is eager to help, using his talents as a Pokémon Connoisseur but before he can, another Connoisseur appears and tries to outshine Cilan. Cilan decides to challenge the Connoisseur to decide who will pick the Pokémon for the girl. Who will win?

I think just now Nurse Joy notified Ash something regrading the Opelucid City Gym which made Iris happy and Ash sad (it was before they got kidnapped). I think its is most likely regarding that he won't be able to challenge that gym.
Burgundy isn't allowed to enter the mansion because she is a C-class sommelier. Also we seem to have a mystery pokemon that the girl likes.

So, let me sum up this episode:
- Cilan defeats Pinot Noir with Zeustle, of course.
- Cabernet gets zero development and is blasted off just like that.
- Cilan turns out to be right, now that's a shocker.
Zero Cilan/Cabernet development.
The only development we got here was the Opelucid/Tachiwaki city one.
Oh, and the irony, Cilan is the one who convinces Ash to go there. xD

It is a good thing that the previous gen pokemon weren't included around this episode, because if it would have been Cilan would have been in a real tight spot to correctly guess the right pokemon for that girl.
As the bases for Cilan choosing Foongus was because he could smell the scent of a Grass and Poison type pokemon around the girl and the only Grass-Poison type pokemon in Unova is the Foongus line.
If previous region pokemons would have been added, he would have had a lot of confusion to select the right one considering that there are 4 other line of Grass-Poison type pokemons (minus the Foongus line).

Seems to me that judging by the scene, Opelucid City is closed. But you should wait for someone who knows Japanese.

Okay episode, it was actually okay that Ash didn't use any Pokemon. But LOL at the obvious "Sorry Ash not against Opelucid City Gym Leader, go for the Tachiwaki Gym Leader instead because that's the only gym you should go to."
Cilan obviously knows who the gym leader is, or might know who the gym leader is.
I will not say I'm the best. But by Ash's standards, I'm pretty good.

Yeah there wasn't any character development, but this was a cute episode. Just looking back at the comments of people thinking Dent would be hard on Momocchi are just laughable. I mean seriously? You expected Dent to be mean to a little girl when he's been shown to be sweet around children before? And I had a feeling Tamagetake would be the Pokémon Dent had picked, the fact that his choice was a secret, there was an unknown Tamagetake appearing and Momo's reaction to Dent's choice all hinted at that possibility.
You couldn't find anything negative about Dent in this episode basically. I mean in regards to his actions, not the no development.
