yea we got one last month as well. They just pick random pokemon that appear. I'm not really expecting major roles for all of these. Trubbish for example probably just gets a few second appearance

Thats impossible because Boldore only can evolve via Trading !
Trade Evolution is official in Anime.
And Ash isn't a non-cast character so writer can't directly gave him any Pokemon without a explanation!!!

maybe Boldore does evolve, or maybe it is someone else's. I can see Kotetsu having Lucario in the next appearance of his battle with Ash. That or it evolves during that time? I'm sure everything else is random, unless Liepard is with Team Plasma, and my hope/curiosity about Team Plasma interrupting the league comes true.

Yes i highly doubt that. My guess would be Kotetsu. Although I just hope the thing gets a decent battle

Darumaka and Trubbish are own by the person who's going to win the league. Pikachu will beat Darumaka but then get slaughter by Trubbish who seeks revenge for Pikachu beating it's evolved form. All of Ash's other Pokemon lost to Darumaka(Brought Charizard, Sceptile, Snorlax, Krookodile, and Infernape, they all lost to it).

But seriously, I hope those two are background Pokemon and nothing else. Hopefully Liepard is for a rival so it can get something. Sawk being anyone's but Stephan's would shock me. Gigalith I would love for it to be Ash's but I'd be fine for a rival having it. Lucario could be Kotetsu but I rather it go to someone else just so Rilou can get a battle as itself.

Appears to be many unevolved pokemon. Meaning that other than Ash could fight with unevolved pokemon To note, today was released a merchandise with Darumakka. Because this officially enter the list of possible apparenades of the anime.
Liepard finally appears. But doesn't mean automatically Team Plasma.
Stephan will stay for episodes in December. He don'¡t lose in the first round meaning that it's treated beter than Trip already.

Please, Oshawott isn't that weak. And is a Water pokemon, after all. Don't understimate Ash's Pokemon unless the writers do.

About Lucario, I have this.
The only known possible Lucario will have is Kotetsu's Riolu. But isn't that probable that Riolu will evolve because is treated like a mascot pokemon. (opening, san of the league and specially the recent Kotetsu's episodes). In that cases, who has Lucario?
Option 1:Bianca (highly unlikely)
Option 2: Stephan (very diffficult): Stephan has Sawk as a main pokemon)
Option 3: Kotetsu. I really see having a Riolu and a Lucario in his team.
Option 4: A character of the league. (the most probably option)

Well, as you know Boldore evolves by trade. And although the anime hasn't depicted any pokemon evolving when evolves by this method (only trade) we never show trading on-screen, we're safe to said that Boldore evolves with tradong (at least for trainers).
Ash rarely trades. Ash only has traded two times, one to show to the viewers trading and other because of differences about this pokemon. Only the latter was permanent and the two members stayed in the same main cast unlike now. If a trade is permanent, Ash would trade Boldore for Lucario. the result is that:
-The charactrer A will get Boldore that evolves instantanily in Giaglith.
-Ash gets a traded Lucario. But doesn't happen before? If you complain that hasn't happened before, I'll put a list with things that hasn't happened before in Best Wishes.

If that's the case, three starters will be get fully evolved: Togekiss, Dragonite and Lucario. the three seems to be "powerful" and the three with different methods (gift, catching, trade?)
