    Flygon (M) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 164 Atk / 252 SAtk / 92 Spd
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    - Draco Meteor
    - Fire Blast
    - Earthquake
    - U-turn/Roost

I used to use this Flygon set, a while back. It's a mixed offesive set, which can counter Volt-turn pretty well. Fire Blast lets it knock down steels, especially Scizor and Skarmory. Earthquake lets it take down other steels, and some that may think it's a special Flygon, such as Jirachi. Draco Meteor is it's dragon STAB, hitting a lot for good damage. U-turn lets it switch out, regaining its special attack, but Roost lets it recover its HP. It depends on whether you want it to live longer or not.

The speed EVs lets it outspeed Dragonite and other base 80s. The rest goes into Special Attack, with the spare into Attack. It wasn't great, but the use of having a mixed attacker was great, because things like Blissey might switch in on an Earthquake. It wouldn't KO, but it would take out a good chunck of damage.

Instead of draco meteor and earthquake, use outrage and earth power, because outrage may not be stronger, but it doesn't lose the any stats, though the raw power is good. Try a white herb for draco meteor, or go for dragon pulse, as you lose less sp att. Earth power, because most steels have higher def stats than sp def stats (on average). Use u-turn for the voltswitch combo.

U-turn is so he can hit and switch out, then comeback with no stat drops, besides if earth power is used, blissey makes you look stupid since you don't have a physical STAB. Don't remember how much damage Flygon's U-turn does to 252 hp/ 252 de blissy.

if you looked carefully, I said earth power AND outrage, so you had a different, stronger STAB physical move. (with only one resistance)

Draco Meteor is a bit better than outrage with 252 EV's placed in sp att, so outrage wasn't a really good option for the set as 164 EV's in attack may not hit hard as Draco Meteor but still has power.

It seems air balloon could be a counter, as then you resist one of its stabs.
Have you ever even used a rhyperior before? None of them run avalanche due to issues with coverage...it's not good enough to just resist one of flygon's attacks, because there is always the chance that it is running a life orb, and imo not very many flygons run a scarf in the current metagame, most run a choice band, even so, i'd rather take an attack from a choice locked fire punch or earthquake with my scarf flygon...hey, i'd even be crazy enough to bet on a speed tie if i were trying to revenge kill

Also...is ground type neutral to fire? I always thought it was resistant to fire

Man coming up with good puns for this week is hard.

    ''Got Sand in your eye?''
    ''Harmony''
"Lord of the Flies"-even though its a dragon
    "The Desert Spirit"
    "Bugeyes"
    "Sanddevil"
    "Dirtdevil"
    "Snap-dragonfly" -Alice in Wonderland reference
    "Mirage"

    for Trapinch

    "In a Pinch"

ugh...I'm going to cry myself to sleep now.
