I need help about my trainer card. After I defeated the Elite Four it didn't turn into purple from green, but after I completed the PokeStar Studio Movies it turned into orange instead, So why it skipped the purple color?

Sorry if this has been asked already but, does anyone know whether you can see the Shiny status of all starters (like in HG/SS) or whether you have to select one to find out whether it's a shiny (like most other games). Would quite like a Shiny Tepig but would sacrifice the ability to choose my starters for a short SR session haha....
