I am on Day 2 on my quest for an Imposter Ditto (I've checked-biked-checked-bike so so many times...) and I have a question. I've heard that the contents and gender of the item/pokemon within the grotto are set upon regeneration, but you can soft-reset for nature and IVs.

In order to successfully soft-reset to change natures/IVs, should I save before entering the grotto, or can I just save while standing right next to the pokemon?

I've been trying to get a tirtouga male with the nature impish, is it rare? Because I've. Been breeding two tirtougas soo many times but I can't seem to get one :/

I´m still trying to get the permit from Prof. Juniper. Are there any in-game trainers in Black 2 with a skitty? That's one of the pokemon I'm missing. (I've seen a Delcatty, but right now all the idiots in the GTS want Level 9 Resharim or Zekrom for them.)

It's all luck. Keep trying and you're bound to get one with impish.

I have tried both methods to get a different species, but it turns out the Pokemon is preset for that grotto each day.

You just need to SR before the battle, even in front of the mon. Not tested with Ditto, but with other Grotto-mons.

Just do the Funfest mission has you trade items with ladies.

Thick Clubs are among the items offered, and they're not very uncommon.

EV training is the best way, you can also use a training item

Thank you! That will make things much easier, since I won't have to save each time before entering the grotto.

Well drugs cover 10 EV's per use (To my knowledge) and The Wings use up only 1 (but there is no cap on them) and if you use the Macho Brace the EV gain is doubled. If you want to boost specific stats I know bulbapedia lists the EV yield of all opposing pokemon which helps max it out and if it's Exp you want then the Lucky Egg + Max Repel (so you can hunt Audino in shakin grass) works wonders.

in any 4th gen game, use the TM. then trade it over via poketransfer. That's the only way.
