This is a pretty obvious concept.

Shaymin wasn't shown early just because it had a new form in the works. If Genesect's original self will appear, it will be as an entirely separate Pokemon. The second Genesect distribution will probably be like the Beasts/Celebi were, with players needing to send it to the new games to unlock Ancient-Genesect.

You got a strong point there. But, Legendary Pokemon weren't the only new Pokemon appearing in a Generation they weren't introduced in. I remember Donphan appeared in the first movie, Munchlax in Movie 7, and Buizel appeared in Movie 9. So, it may be just a normal Pokemon like those guys.

Then who do you think the major star will be? 13 out of 15 times it has been a new pokemon. While I agree that it is possible that it is a new alternate form, a completely new pokemon is more likely.

Personally, I think we should wait until next month's Corocoro reveals the shortened title, which will probably be something along the lines of 'Genesect and the *****' which will be extended in February to include the major star's name.

... I've never heard this "over 1000" statistic. I thought it was closer to 200. o_o But either way, they're not going to stop anytime soon, whether they're recycling old scrapped designs or making completely new ones.

By the way, do you guys think that "dual movie" thing is going to be continued for this one? And if it is, how would they even do that? We've had one with two versions based on the games' version exclusives, and one with a main movie and a short...

I don't think it'll be a dual movie. Since Genosect doesn't have a counterpart or a known one at this moment. I don't really see a reason to split it into two different movies. It would be interesting with the different Pokemon like Braviary and Mandibuzz appearing and different scenes happening. But, that's about all I can think of.

There's no chance of them doing a dual movie again. That only worked because Reshiram and Zekrom were available as new stars and the movie's plot was basically replicating BW's, a situation which has no way of being repeated right now.

But they did do it again, with Kyurem's movie having the Meloetta short alongside it, even though Kyurem and Meloetta aren't counterparts at all. If they want to keep this gimmick going, there's more than one way they can pull it off.

What...? Meloetta's short was not an alternate version of the movie at all. It's not remotely comparable to what happened with M14.
