Pokemon Riddle

Cool. Haven't gotten one in a while.

I have the next Pokemon in mind, but haven't put together the actual riddle yet. I'll edit this post when I do.

Edit: Here it is. Hopefully, it won't be as vague as some of the other ones I've done.

I am bound by the forces of the universe.
I am not made of nature, yet I am lured by a natural occurrence.
I am tolerant of the elements above all, yet I was not originally so.
I was made stronger by companionship, yet I will gain my highest strength by becoming alone again.
I am many, yet I am one.
Who am I?

Sounds like magneton to me. The magnetism of the earth binds magneton together, and can be considered a force of the universe, magneton looks robotic, so it isn't of nature, it gained tolerance of elements by gaining the steel type in the 2nd gen, giving it extra resistances, it's made stronger by companionship because it's three magnemites, and it has three bodies but is one pokémon.

The only thing I'm not sure of is the natural occurrence and what "becoming alone again" refers to.

Yes, it is indeed Magneton. The "natural occurrence" was referring to several of its Pokedex entries which state that Magneton appears frequently during a flare-up of sunspots (a bit vague, I admit, but I had to put something there to balance with the rest of the riddle). "Becoming alone again" refers to Magneton's evolution into Magnezone, when the three Magnemites fuse into one body.

But the rest of your explanation was spot-on. Good job.

My guess is Misdreavus/magius.

Is it Umbreon?

Once a light among the black - Eevee is a Normal type.
When black arrived I took that back - Umbreon was introduced in the second generation, the same one as the one in which the Dark type was introduced.
Yet still I shine bright like a gem - There are other evolutions of Eevee which evolve due to stones, gems if you will. And evolution comes with a bright light when happening. And both shine just as bright as the other.
And shed a lot more light than them - To evolve in to Umbreon must be "shining" with happiness. It also can use Moonlight.

Reshiram? It's white, but was the mascot of Black version (light among the black), but when Black 2 arrived, 'Zekrom' (as Kyurem) was the mascot of that, so 'Reshiram' (as Kyurem) took White 2 back. The shedding light could refer to their tails, maybe Reshiram's torch tail is brighter?

None of those are the answer, but good guesses. I warn you now that this one's somewhat obscure. Chibi Muffin came the closest to explaining one line correctly, but the answer is a very different pokémon.

can appear in the dust cloud… where you can get gem stones…
or the thunder stone…
shed refers to the snake like appearance … snakes shed its skin…

I assume the second line refers to losing its popularity when gen 5 rolled in.

It started off being the only Legendary bird not to have a unique type combination (light among the black - being different). When 'Black (and White) arrived' there was Emolga, which along with Delibird meant that all of the birds shared their types, so it wasn't as different. It sheds more light because of its fiery wings. Just a guess, but...

Since my previous guess is most likely wrong since ghost pointed out the misconception after release.

Once a light among the black -- before black / white 1 got released speculations of light type…
When black arrived I took that back - After release turns out it wasn't light type…

As for final two… Makes me think of the three shiny dogs event…

Is it Lanturn?

Once a light among the black: Used to be the only Water/Electric type, and as such, was a "light" among the "black" depths of the ocean.
When black arrived I took that back: Rotom's Wash Form became Water/Electric in Gen 5.
Yet still I shine bright like a gem: Its DPP Pokedex entry states, "Lanturn's light can shine up from great depths. It is nicknamed "The Deep-Sea Star."
And shed a lot more light than them: Well, it sheds more light than a washing machine (Rotom) would, as well as other Water-types.

I'll try to explain each line
Once a light among the black it is referred to original black/white coloured GBC games, isn't it?
When black arrived I took that back this i about new Pokemon Black and White
Yet still I shine bright like a gem It is related to Pokemon which can shine(electric, fire types?)
And shed a lot more light than them don't have an idea
So, it is Zapdos. When GBC came it was the only electric/flying type, but with the introduction of 5th gen games, Emolga came and Rotom became electric/flying as well.

As a hint, there is a line that explains which gen it's from, but it's a different line from what was just guessed.

Suicune? It was, at first, the only mascot legendary not to be the same colour as its version (Crystal), hence the third line, but when Black and White came, it wasn't any more. The gem line refers to Crystal version. It shines brighter because it was given out as a shiny event legendary, while Reshiram and Zekrom can never be shiny at all.

Groudon? It shines sunlight (drought). It was the only Pokemon with drought up until black and white, but it still shines bright. The gem could refer to Ruby.

Nope. Face properly interpreted one line, but everyone's been generally on the cold side guessing legendaries. My pointer would be to try more non-legends.

And as a further hint, I will explain that the second line does not refer to the subject's being deprived as a sole light so much as the "black" referred to in the riddle no longer being purely "black".
