    I pronounce it "Po-kay-mon" all the time and it doesn't sound weird to me. The accent is there for a reason, after all.

    EDIT: I just remembered that I always used to mispronounce "Salamence" as "Salamance."

    I pronounce Pokemon as Poka-mon.

    Regigigas = Regi-gi-gas (as in the fuel)
    Arceus = Are-see-us
    Metagross = Meta-grahs

    The only reason I know how to pronounce Hydreigon' evolutionary line is because I'm German, I pronounce the 'w' in Zweilous' name as a 'v'.

    Actually, I think you're doing it right. I've see the dub for the Reshiram movie and I'm sure it's pronounced that way.

    I thought the "Zw" in Zweilous was pronounced like "sv". Or at least that's what my dad told me, his great-grandfather is from Germany and he learned some German from his father.

    Well since it's Japanese, I assume you just pronounce it phoenetically. Which would be "KYU-rem" (the first sound would be like "Kee-YU" except as one syllable).

    Gen 1: 'Pidgeot' I used to get wrong all the time. I used to think Caterpie was 'Cat-ur-pie' instead of 'pee'. Similar to Starmie which I thought was 'Star-my' instead of 'Star-me'.

    Gen 2: I couldn't pronounce Ariados for a long time, same with Togetic which I still get wrong every once in a while just because of the odd spelling. Marill I thought was 'Muh-rill', until the anime when I heard it recite its name correctly. Yanma was always tough too, I put a lot of emphasis on the a (Yahhn-ma instead of Yan-ma), and I still do just because of personal preference lol. When I was younger Phanpy and Donphan's names were tough, I took them literally as 'puh-han-py' and 'don-puh-han' instead of putting the 'ph' as an f-sound.

    Gen 3: Masquerain was a tough one when I was younger. 'Mas-queer-an' was how I pronounced it I think. Numel I think I pronounced 'Num-ull'. Chimecho was 'Chim-cho'. I'm still not sure how to pronounce Regice. I always said 'Regi-ice' but I'm pretty sure now that it's just 'Reg-ice'.

    Gen 4: Buizel I took literally as 'Boo-izle' and Floatzel as 'Float-zelll' with a lot of emphasis on the 'l' for some reason. Riolu I thought was 'Ry-oh-loo'. I would always stumble and screw up Hippopotas and Hippowdon, the latter I thought was 'Hippo-pow-down' at one point haha. Yanmega was the same as Yanma -- "Yahhn-mega' instead of just the literal 'Yan'. I still put a lot of emphasis on the 'a' just because I think 'Yahhn-mega' sounds better personally. I used to think Regigigas was 'Regi-gas' until months into the game I discovered the other 'gi' in between.

    Gen 5: Sawsbuck I thought was 'Saws-a-buck' when I first saw it... It just looks so odd as a name. Cofagrigus I thought was 'Co-***-rius'. Reuniclus was butchered constantly at first too, I had to literally read it out loud a few times to get it to what I think is the correct spelling - 'Re-yoo-ni-clus', like reunion + nucleus, with the respective pronunciation taken from both. The Deino line I can tell I've been pronouncing wrong the entire time. I've always said 'Dino', 'Zway-lus' and 'High-dray-gon', though since they're based on German numbers it makes more sense to base it off the numbers' pronunciation like they are...

    As you can tell, I'm none too bright. :P

    Still don't know if Regice is Reji-ice or Re-jice or if it's even pronounced that way.

    If this is wrong then how the hell do you pronounce Rayquaza?

    I don't think I have many but:
    I still add an extra C to Articuno > Arcticuno
    I pronounced Raikou as Rye-koo as I pronounced it the Japanese way and the same way you pronounce Raichu. But I think it's supposed to be Ray-koo because of the rain clouds on it's back?
    I actually never had a problem wth Suicune but my boyfriend called it Su-i-sine.

    This one had also kinda confused me as I've always pronounced it Kyu-rem but a lot of people I know say it the way you do. I'm pretty sure I'm right though as Kyu-rem makes most sense and, as children, they mispronounce A LOT. I wish I could remember all of their mispronounciations so I could share them haha.

    And regarding Zweilous, the z is technically a ts sound and the w a v sound making it tsv-eye-lous but I'm pretty sure when they say it the anime they're just going to go with zv-eye-lous as it's easier and still half there. I'm gonna carry on saying Tsveilous until they do that though.

    Also, regarding the pronunciation of Pokemon:

    The Japanese do NOT say Po-kay-mon as the Japanese do not pronounce 'e' as 'ay' - they pronounce it as a soft 'e' sound like in 'egg' or 'met'.

    English/Americans do often hear the Japanese 'e' sound as an 'ay' sound but only because an 'eh' on the END of a word is completely foreign to us - we have hardly any words that end with it or any words longer than one syllable that have the 'eh' sound in the midde. So when we say it we make it an 'ay' sound to make it easier to pronounce. However, if you familiarise yourself with the Japanese language you will definitely hear the difference and saying 'e' as 'eh' on the end of words will stop feeling strange.

    Po-kay-mon is technically the official American pronounciation but only because they wanted it to sound as far from Pocket Monsters/Poketto Monsuta as possible because of copyright reasons (they didn't want to be sued by 'Monster in my Pocket'). Otherwise they would have either kept the title as Pocket Monsters or and the shortened title as Pockemon/Po-keh-mon.

    Personally I always say Po-keh-mon and but it often comes out as Po-kah-mon/Pokermon if I'm speaking too fast. I don't mind when people do say Po-kay-mon as that is how they say it in the dub but I really wish it hadn't been translated like that as it makes it sound like they just had no clue what they were doing like with many other dubbed anime...I always cringe whenever I have to hear badly dubbed anime like Sasuke as 'sass-kay' (should be SAH-su-KEH) or even anime as 'a-nee-may' (should be ah-nee-meh)

    In the Arceus movie, they pronounced Arceus as "Arkeeus". I like the Ar-cee-us way better though.

    When pokemon first came to the US I pronounced rattata several different ways, my friends and I couldn't agree on a pronuciation. I was around ten then, so it's understandable.

    Some of them are pronounced really weird. Like I always called Conkeldurr CONK-el-durr, but I just found out it's conk-EL-durr. Also: I thought it was so weird when I found out that Illumise was pronounced il-loo-MEE-zay.

    I always say "POKE-mon".... not sure if that's correct or not.

    To be honest, I'm not even sure if half of the Pokemon names I'm pronouncing are correct.

    The one I remember most vividly was Sudowoodo: Completely butchered this one. I think I pronounced it: "SNOW-the".

    (Mixed up its name with a subway stop near my house called "Snowdon".)

    (Somehow.)

    That's really weird. CONK-el-durr is the most natural pronunciation in English.
