    Default HDMI info help

Okay, I know what HDMIs are. They are the most advanced TV connecter as of now. I have one for my PS3 and they can only connect to HDTVs.
But I don't understand all about the HDMI. I am confused in what the "High speeds" and what's the difference between the HDMI versions like 1.3 & 1.4? And why do some products say "High Speed" and How do I know which one is perfect for my HDTV, PS3 & Xbox 360?

Can you give me great details about them?

The "High Speeds" is a gimmick to try and get you to buy it, it does nothing.

Just buy the cheapest HDMI cables and you will be fine.

There is one difference. HDMI 1.3 doesn't support 3D videos while 1.4 does. So if you want to watch 3D videos or games then you'll need a better than average cable.

I went to Target today, and they told me that the ones that have a gold metal instead of the silver metal have better quality.
But my confusion is the status of the HDMI cables they always say like 1200 speed or something (I don't know how to describe them) like this has better speed rate or something. They said that Monster cables are the most recommend of the HDMIs.
Does anyone know what this all means and what 1.4 HDMI has the best stuff that is cheap and what is the most recommend brand I should get?

As blaze boy said, there's no real differance between a cheap HDMI cable and an expensive one. They only really start to matter of you start getting ones that are 30 feet long or so. And I've personally had 4 of the $120 Monster HDMI cables break and stop working within a 5 month time span (I got a refund each time though). I know that alot of employees at shops are told to try and sell the higher-end or least selling items over the better ones, sometimes even by lying if they need to.
