Congrats to Marvs for the shiny drifblim, I'm at almost 1,000 encounters at Giant Chasm, training at the same time, been about 1,500 RE's since my last shiny :/

thats what I wanted when I was REing there. Got Grumpig instead. :'( lol Abundant Shrine is not giving me results, might try elsewhere.

ive gotten 2 shinies from there wanted neither of them a Camerupt and a Grumpig would have loved a Skarmory Skorupi or Vibrava

Well... my drought ended. Sadly not the way I wanted it to. I'm sure I'll get some people thinking I cheated for this but I actually didn't. My friend Chris was talking to me on Skype at the time I found it and barely noticed it.

I took a screenshot of the cheat menu to show I didn't have any sort of cheat to modify wild Pokemon, and while I know people will say "Oh you just removed it before screening" and have no way to prove otherwise, it was legit. I don't see much point in cheating for shinnies that I can't have on an actual game, rather than an emulator. If I wanted shinnies so badly that I had to cheat I'd do so with my actual games rather than roms. Just saying :/. Anyway I screen recorded this as well for my YouTube channel too.



I'm currently LPing Fire Red and in one of my recent videos I said I was gonna train my Aerodactyl off screen, guess it was lucky of me.

Hey guys. A bit of a question regarding the Masuda Method...

If I have an Australian Sigilyph caught in the Desert Resort, bred with another Japanese Sigilyph, but apparently caught via Dream Radar.

Will this still be able to produce shinies easier? Or does the Dream Radar just cancel it out?

Just finished my hunt for a shiny Elygem a few days back . Got a shiny female one, it has a bold nature, after around 200 or so run ins with Pokemon in the Celestial Tower. Working on a shiny hunt for a shiny Litwick, trying to get up to 6500 Pokemon run ins overall (around 700 run ins in the Tower)... and hope I can have some more luck there.

Well I put my Shiny Shinx Masuda Method hunt aside and I've started working on another Shiny hunt after I took a break for a couple weeks to recharge. I'm now doing random encounters for a Shiny Mareep at the Floccesy Ranch in White 2. I've been at it for two days now and I've encountered more than a 130 Mareep, but that's not much. I have to keep at it in order to find a Shiny; I know from experience that this will be a long process that could potentially take months, but I really want that Shiny Mareep or any other Shiny that may appear in the tall grass. At this point I'm not too picky.

It has to be Japanese
If it is from the Dream Radar it is still Japanese ^^

It'll work just fine. Dream Radar is just another way to obtain it, it doesn't cancel out the nationality.

If you want more mareeps to appear you should use a pokemon with static ability

I have a kind of silly question. I feel like I know the answer to this but I just wanted to confirm.
In my White 2 game, I killed the Virizion at its route for exp as i had no intentions of getting it's shiny
Now I'm somewhat tempted to get it's shiny, and I have beat the e4
Can I still sr on the virzion that comes back after defeating the e4 or has the seed been set once I killed it?

Well, after 7420 REs the exact shiny I wanted from Victory Road appeared!



Definitely one of the best shinies this gen and I'm happy I got it and not another Rufflet lol. Gratz on the recent shinies everyone and good luck!

Haven't shiny hunted since August 2011.

I've never soft reset a Pokemon either, i'm at 250SR for Mewtwo in Heartgold, hopefully it doesn't take forever.

Hi guys congrats to starrah, top decking shinobi, city and cocoa on their respective shinies.

You may or may not know, after my successful charmander hunt, i started a quest for all three shiny kanto starters, as they are an awesome trio. I started bulbasaur about three weeks ago and after 767 eggs he decided to shine.

Hes calm and has max ivs in def and sp.def. Also he hatched one egg earlier than my previous charmander hunt.
So im moving to squirtle to complete the set. Gl!
