a second grass maybe? or in my ideal scenario an archanine. but I'd probably settle for them both having just 4.

I love it. but instead of accidently catches it he gets an egg. he spends a few episodes really excited about what it will hatch into and then screams in horror at purrloin

Oshawott evolves after the Meloetta plot after a fight with Pignite. Pops out of his pokeball as usual but instead uses it to meditate and becomes very focused on battling. Keeps rivalry with Pignite.

Snivy evolves to save Oshawott, Axew, and Scraggy from danger.

Ash encounters a very affectionate Solosis. Solosis loves sticking to people. Solosis evolves in an episode vs. Team Rocket. Duosion wants Ash to catch it.

Totodile returns and evolves right before the league like Cyndaquil did.

Dewott evolves during a league match. Ends his rivalry with Pignite. Becomes more mellow.

(Palpitoad gets to shine during a Don George/Marlon hosted Water-type tournament.) Maybe evolve. Not sure.

Duosion evolves in a match vs a Sinnoh Frontier Head.

Gible evolves in a match vs Iris' (Axew/Fraxure)/Dragonite and wins.

Metang's issues from its ability, Light Metal. It is much lighter than most of its species so it has problems maintaining its balance in the air. Cilan has to help its mobility. Metang has self-esteem issues.

Cilan catches a Mudkip.
~ Mirrors May's capture of Bulbasaur and Dawn's capture of Cyndaquil.
